I downloaded the 1.10s patch so that next time I get the runes I can make a beta cta. I have also downloaded Atma IV and ATS to convert 1.10a characters to 1.10s. The problem is there is no save folder for characters in my 1.10s diablo folder. Where are they saved at so I can load my converted characters? (I'm making a 1.10 sorc on my other pc using trenshadow version switcher)

Also, do I cube the runes in 1.11b and convert a character back to 1.10s to make the cta (i know you can convert characters up not sure about back)? or do I save up nm runes and cube them up?

You should be able to just create a new folder and rename it to 'Save'. You can't convert anything backwards, characters or items, so you're in for a lot of cubing.

alright, this has probably been asked before, but I don't feel like searching for it. I'm in Act2 of hell with my pure blizz sorc and I have no idea what to do in the Claw Viper Temple(and I think the same type of monsters spawn in Tal Rasha Tomb too). Everything there is CI. I COULD port through there, but when I port into smaller rooms, I tend to get killed. My merc doesn't seem like he would die fighting against anything, but there's no way he could kill everything(since all the skeletons just keep getting revived). Any suggestions?

Go to Act 2 Normal and find yourself the highest +firewall staff mod you can with a white staff and 2 sockets use the leaf runeword tir+ral that will give you a 300 damage firewall w/o +skills from other sources. If you can get a staff with +1-3 firewall and +1-3 fire mastery you'll be able to get a 1000+ damage firewall which usually does the trick for those "sticky" situations as a pure cold or pure lightning sorc.

You have to find the +1-3 firewall & +1-3 fire mastery staff if you want it since it can not be bought anywhere due to tier level restrictions.

I hate to post twice in a row, but I can't edit my last post =/.

Anyways, I've finally gotten my MF sorc to Meph, but I'm having one problem MFing against him; my merc keeps dying. I think the problem is his armor. He's using Kelpie Snare, Guilliame's Face and Leviathan. I know hit weapon and helm are good for act bosses, but since most of Meph's attacks are magic based, Leviathan doesn't help much. What would be a good substitute for it?

You should be able to just create a new folder and rename it to 'Save'.

I tried placing a save folder in the 1.10s game folder with my 1.10 sorc in it, the game didn't recognize it was there nor could I load it up on atma IV. I tried the ATS and it wouldn't load it either. So I'm at a loss as to how to convert my 1.10 sorc to 1.10s, anyone have any ideas?

Hope it isn't bad etiquette to post a question before the last one was answered (I would've answered it if I knew the answer :scratchchin:). But here's one I'd like some help with if anyone knows.

I don't understand breakpoints very well, but I put a shael in it as soon as my barb could equip it for his WW attack. Since then, I've been thinking it would sure be great to put a jewel in it for ED, but I don't have any ruby jewels of fervor. Only this:

So my question is: would my barb be better off with the shael in the ribby for the extra speed it would provide WW, or would he be a better killer with more damage from the jewel minus the speed (providing AR is up to a good level)? With the jewel he'd be doing 509-671 by my calculations. I'm in Act V NM right now and wondering which would be better for Hell. Too bad the jewel wouldn't work well in the armor.

Helx - your barb is better with shael, with fervor jewel you would be 5% IAS short of the last WW breakpoint, while with shael you just hit it.

Smips - Meph mabye uses elemental attacks, but what really kills your merc is his melee physical attack which is multiplied by 4 versus mercs. Shaftstop is your best choice to reduce amount of physical damage.

Helx - I am sorry, I didn't read the stat for your jewel properly. I thought it is ruby jewel of fervor (with 15 ias). Non sword weapons breakpoints for WW are -10,-30,-60. With Stalagmite +10 and weapon ias -70, you just hit the last breakpoint. With fervor jewel you would be still short. IAS from other sources besides weapon doesn't do anything for WW.

1.10s came before the regular (non-beta) 1.10. so i think your 1.10 char is not compatible with 1.10s.

You can have up to 5 Hydra out at one time. However, due to the combonation of ten second hydra lifespan, and the casting delay of 2 seconds. You can summon five, after that, they run out of duration, and they poof. Tip for those planning on building Hydra sorc; Become the fifth hydra. Summon 3 or 4, and spam FBall like mad. When one poofs, resummon, and resume going nuts.

I'm playing an assassin in the current round of the sutc4, and D2 keeps crashing on me. It never does otherwise. I recall (vaguely) reading about a bug with one of the assassin skills that can crash the game. Which is it? Is there something I can do to prevent this?

Cloak of Shadows will crash you if you are at the Ancients and maybe elsewhere? I think I've only heard of it at the Ancients.

Thanks Hrus. I tried it just for the fun of it, and either my calculations (and understanding) were off on the increased damage, or there's a bug with the jewel that's even inserted into the weapon.

Before the jewel the ribcracker's damage was 328-490, and once I added the 37% ruby jewel the damage came to a grand total of 356-530 which is an increase of not 37% but 9.2%. :scratchchin: Also, of course, the speed of the WW slowed down noticeably by the frequency of the "thud" sound as monsters were whacked, so I'll be using another Hel to free the socket for another Shael to reach the next breakpoint. :p

the 37%ed is not calculated over of your current ribby damage. but added together with its inherent ed roll, over weapon's base damage.

ie, instead of 1.37 x current weapon damage, it's (.37 + weapon ed bonus) x base weapon damage.
