Re: The Questions Thread

Well I installed it the way that it said and went into the game and did a Count run....Ral dropped but it wasn't red. Any thoughts as to why? I am on the 1.11 version

Did you follow the Installation Guide? I found it a bit easier to follow than the readme.

Just a couple of common problems for you to check against:

Did you add the correct tags to the short-cut? After the closing quotation mark. (-direct -txt, IIRC)

Did you set the shortcut to run in the mod's directory, as apposed to the D2 root directory?

You could also try installing it in a different order (ie, instead of installing RRM within RWM, you could install RWM within RRM; the latter is how mine is set up).

Also, on the terms... Untwinked is when you don't mule/trade any items onto a particular character, and only use items that you find with it.

Self-found is a broader term, that includes both twinked and untwinked play, only excluding trading as a source of items. IE you only use items you find, but do not necessarily exclude 'trading' between your own characters.

Re: The Questions Thread

ok self-found is more what I do then. I am only running RRM and have all the tags set up. I do not, however, know what you mean by setting up the shortcut to run in the mod's directory. How do I do that?

Right-click your DII shortcut, choose properties, then add /Runewords on the end of your "Start in" DII path (e.g. "C:\Program Files\Diablo II\Runewords".

Should be OK now!

Re: The Questions Thread

I will try that but I thought it said that that was only to be used if you were installing the RWM along with the RRM which I am not. But we'll see what that does.

Thanks for the help in any regard

Re: The Questions Thread

3k damage should be more than enough. Do you have Holy Shield? How much FCR do you have? Another possibility would be to just spam potions... =P. Your hammers should take them down pretty quickly if you have enough FCR.

Stygian dolls? xD. I think they blow up when you kill them, so be careful! I used to let my merc tank the dolls for me. For some reason, they do much less damage to him... Go figure.

mercs and minions are not affected by the "blowing" damage, only direct damage inflicted by their attacks.

So... let the merc deal with them!

Re: The Questions Thread

Is Redemption aura usefull for a zealot at any point of the game?

Pally's can always benefit from 1 point in redemption but it is a skill that deserves no more than 1. My zealot, smiter and hdin all have 1 point in it to answer your question.

Re: The Questions Thread

I have also known others to use strictly life leech items and use that point in a synergy for something as well....it is one of those skills that is player preferred

Hope it helped though

Re: The Questions Thread

If I liked paladins I might have some more in-game experience to share, but the paladisn I've played so far have loved their pt in redemption, great heal-up after a fight without the need of pots.
Try to get it on a scepter and have it on switch, to save alot of pts.

Re: The Questions Thread

I was wondering whether kicksins use the durability on the weapons they use?

i know kickers dont benefit from the increased dmg bonus on eth items, but an eth weapon combined with blade fury for OK's with IM would benefit from the dmg bonus. And the only fleshripper i have happen to be eth and 3% from perfect:

Fleshripper
Fanged Knife
One-Hand Damage: 87 to 337
Durability: 13 of 19
Required Dexterity: 76
Required Strength: 32
Required Level: 68
Dagger Class - Fast Attack Speed
Item Version: 1.10+ Expansion
Item Level: 88
Fingerprint: 0x1fcd2a68
+297% Enhanced Damage
-50% Target Defense
Prevent Monster Heal
50% Chance of Open Wounds
25% Chance of Crushing Blow
33% Deadly Strike
Slows Target by 20%
Ethereal (Cannot be Repaired)

After messing around with it on my zealer i realized i could use it with blade fury... but that weapon sure is a pretty sight - gieb zod rune!

Re: The Questions Thread

*cleans glasses*
That's one sweet knife B_E!
Unfortunately it's eth
I'm not sure about kickers, but BF sins will love it, arguably one of the best items they could have.

Re: The Questions Thread

AFAIK, kicks don't use durability either. That baby should do well in the hands of a kicker, although I personally prefer a big, stylish two-hander

Re: The Questions Thread

well, as far as i know, charging up before kicking is a waste of time. Just kicking will procude more dmg over time. So i guess it's a viable kicksin weapon - good to know!

Re: The Questions Thread

I must missed something. I thought the whole point of kick sin is taking advantage of how TS + DT calculate their ED%.

How does damage compare between 4 kick vs 3 TS then 1 kick?

Re: The Questions Thread

dragon talon does fine without charge ups, I wouldnt bother charge ups at all with this.

Dragon tail on the other hand, get's a nice boost to it's aoe explotion by TS, mind your DT's people :wink3:

a DTalon kicekr/trapper/BFsin would love an eth fleshripper it seems

Re: The Questions Thread

I'm shopping hell Anya for armour (makes a change from claws).
Anyone know what is the optimum level to shop
- Jewelers Ancient Armour of Amicae
- Jewelers Archon Plate of the (Whale / Squid etc)

I guess as high as possible for the item upgrades for the second, but for the first?

Thanks.

Re: The Questions Thread

I'm using GhoulHide Bracers for a new build and have a question about the Attack Rating Bonus. Atma displays it as a percent bonus based on character level:

Ghoulhide
Heavy Bracers
Defense: 121
Durability: 8 of 16
Required Strength: 58
Required Level: 36
Item Version: 1.10+ Expansion
Item Level: 87
Fingerprint: 0x4921e7ae
+20 to Life
+170% Enhanced Defense
5% Mana stolen per hit
2% Damage to Undead (Based on Character Level)
8% Bonus to Attack Rating Against Undead (Based on Character Level)

But in game it says it is a straight point bonus of +8AR per character level.

Anyone know which is right?
