morrowind NPCs are really lame, I don't like most of them, kind of kills the interaction a bit

Yes, but you can kill them if they annoy you. Just don't kill anyone who has quest related stuff to give you later, or you won't be able to finish the game.

Oblivion is supposed to have much better NPC's. That is one of the big improvvements they are pushing.

I remember a quest i found about a witch who got some guy nekkid n left him in the bushes. and you had to choose who to side with. i killed the withc then saw the guys axe :shocked: he died shortyl after of a hammer to the groin.
then i took his axe.

There are a dozen or two funny little quests like that. Have you ever got the Boots of Blinding Speed?

My next upgrade, besides Win XP Pro, is speakers. I want 5.1 (or 7.1, but probably can't afford). Anyone have suggestions? I read reviews all the time, but want some real world opinions.

Unless you get a really good sound card the difference won't be overly noticeable between 5.1 and 7.1

I personally would recommend logitech Z 5500 digital, thats what im using and there amazing. The only problem would be that you need a pretty high end sound card to get the potential out of them. I had to get creative labs Xfi sound card because your card needs to have an optical out or a coaxial out (preferably optical though because its better). Speakers sound fantasic but the price tag for everything you need to get the best out of them is probably going to run you a minimum of $700.

Plus when you have a digital hook up on your speakers its kinda weird for games because games don't support dolby or dts digital (yet, but they will this gen.) But for that you can still hook up the classic crappy analog 3 plug crappiness. :thumbsup:
