About the scarabs: Since war cry is so powerful at preventing enemies striking at you and you can taunt ranged attackers toward you, doesn't it make sense to absolutely overdo MDR and lightning absorbing gear? I had a somewhat similar experience with my leap barbarian where lightning enchanted enemies were the most dangerous for the northlander duo (each leap triggering new bolts). They would not have made it safely without Blackhorns Face I believe.

It would certainly for the beetles, but the problem is that I was arrogantly blasting through hell at P5 and kinda thought that I was the ****. Seriously though, this was the first issue of any kinda that he had, and even after the warning with the previous pack of beetles, I fell into the old 'It'll be fine' mentality. Part of the problem was that I was having to balance mana/fcr (using Reaper's for safety, which was ideal in every other situation) and so my options for MDR and absorb were limited. I didn't know about the triggering of the bolts either. On the plus side though, I am absolutely painfully aware of it now :p

Edit: Also, you totally just renamed my 'Guardians' section :D

Exactly why in 99% of the cases I simply go back to town to get rid of Amplify Damage. It's a total drag to do all the time, but yeah....

Edit: Wow, nevermind that. The curse happened milliseconds before the charger impact. Such bad luck...
 
Pindle without CtA is a no-no in HC unless you play it very safe. I almost lost my sorc 2 or 3 times during the MFO. 1 missclick and you're so dead.

Condolences! I feel like I cursed you by saying you're on a roll. :(

Nothing is a no-no mate :D I don't have a CtA, but I wanted to run Pindle. My methodology is generally along the lines of '**** it, what's the worse that can happen?'. This apparently :P

Gwynt, my untwinked 99er, has died in LK. Some my have seen me talking about stutter/lag problems that I've had, this time it got me killed, or at least I think that it did... I hit escape, and as you can see it lagged (not sure if that is the right word for SP?), and the escape never got delivered. Whether it would have without the lag I'll never know, maybe somebody with computer knowledge can answer that? Anyway, without the lag, I'm 99% sure that Gwynt is still alive. Oh well!

I have absolutely no intention whatsoever of reentering the tournament, which is why Gwynt dying is partly a relief. Trying to do LK and then Mephisto runs with him was just boring the hell out of me, I've been doing batches of 20 runs or so and just had no enthusiasm for it. I do like the build, but this part of the journey was just too boring for me to enjoy. So, sad that he died, but now I don't feel obliged to play him :P

I do however, still intend to get a HC 99er. That project is ongoing...
