During the recent mini- MFO, I found 4 more copies of Ormus' Robes. I am taking this as a sign to start yet another grail quest- to obtain Ormus' Robes for every possible available sorc skill. I already have one repeat, of course of the most useless one, +3 Telekinesis:

Cold Skills : Frost Nova, Glacial Spike
Fire Skills : Fire Wall, Meteor
Lightning Skills: Charged Bolt, Static Field, Telekinesis x 2

Wow this is depressing. I think I sold one or two as well because they were duplicates with worse percentages.

ice blast, frost nova, blizzard *2, shiver armour, enchant, energy shield, lightening. sure i havent kept some, but from now on i will turn over a new leaf!

As for me, Ormus seldom drops (but I have more Dark Adherents than you can shake a stick at). I've only found 2 (CL & Blaze), but I've traded for 3 (Blizzard, Enchant, and CL - before I found my first).

Good question- this comes up in the Perfect Grail alot. For Ormus' Robes, there are 25 possible skills, with 1,386,720 possible rolls for each skill, giving 34.6 million possible Ormus' Robes. That seems like a lot, but it's not as many as there are on Headhunter's Glory, something like 89 million. Still, the 25 varieties of Ormus are quite different, so that's more interesting to keep track of, I would think!

Quickdeath worked out some of these numbers in this thread

Edit: too slow! Wolfhowl does have a lot of variations, with 8 variable stats, but there are only 2 million-ish possible combos for those stats, so Headhunter's Glory has more.

Ormus’ Robe Dusk Shroud: The modifications on this armor are easily the most complex of any item. They are:
Random Sorceress Skill (1 of 25): +3

In principle, each of the sorceress skills might be particularly desireable to any particular build. It is impossible to rank the level 24 Meteor Skill as being more desireable than the level 1 Charged Bolt skill - a Charged Boltress build would prefer the modification be +_3 to Charged Bolts, The best position is to say that there are 25 perfect Ormus’ Robes - 1 for each possible Sorceress Skill. Whether or not you favor a Perfect Blizzard Ormus’ Robe over a perfect Ice Bolt Ormus’ Robe, someone else might have a different personal and situational preference.

In my opinion, the Unique/Set Grail should have been defined as having 25 variants of Ormus' Robe, just as each of the 6 variants of the Rainbow Facet Jewels are defined as 6 distinct items on the Grail. But then, the Grail was defined several years before I joined the SPF, so I never heard any of the original arguments.

Yes, that's corrrect. A US billion is a thousand million, and a UK billion is a million million. Same story for trillions- in the US, it's a thousand billion (10^12) while in the UK it's a million billion (10^18.)

I agree with Quickdeath- that a complete grail should have all 25 Ormus' Robes. There is one difference between Ormus' Robes and Rainbow Facets- two different facets can actually drop in the same game (happened to me once, I was stunned) whereas it would be at most one Ormus' Robes drop per game.

I do think we can agree that there are more useful and less useful Ormus' Robes- Telekinesis, Frost Nova, Fire Bolt are not as useful as Blizzard, Meteor, Chain Lightning etc, even if there isn't an obvious "best" skill.

I mean, what about billionaires? Do you call them thousand-millionaires? In languages that have a specific word for 10^9, I guess it makes sense, but English doesn't have one if you're using the long scale.

It's a much bigger headache in China, though. They use a new word for every four powers of ten, not every three. So you have specific words for 10,000, 100,000,000, and 1,000,000,000,000. Must be hell for translators.

EDIT: Also to dedicate at least a tiny portion of my post to something that isn't completely off topic, I have only one Ormus' Robes, with +3 chain lightning. I'm not big into MF runs so I don't think I'll add myself to the table, as I'm unlikely to find another one soon.

One of my aims with the MFO running Meph was to improve my Ormus' collection, and I found 9 of them, which was great (though I found 20 Dark Adherants!). A couple were possibly useful: Enchant, maybe ES, but also I manged to get some of the most useless ones and repeats of ones I already had: Fire Bolt x 3, Frozen Armor and Ice Blast to add to my collection of less-than-useful Ormus' Robes. Will I find all three cold armor Ormus' before I find Blizzard, I wonder?

A long-overdue update, with a few to add: Nova, Blizzard, Chilling Armor, Teleport, and Lightning. The Blizzard find was a nice one, and so I can now stop whining about finding so many but not finding a Blizzard one. Someone else can inherit the "most Ormus' without a Blizzard" award now.

Woohoo, finally complete!

A Warmth 10/12/14, (and then 12/10/13 and later 13/12/12) and then a few months later an Inferno 12/13/15 put me at Ormus Grail -1 (Thunderstom missing.) And now a 14/14/11 Thunderstorm one completes the grail for me. Whew, that is with a total of at least 58 Ormus' (just counting softcore- there are some on characters that I'm missing there.)

It's not like I won't keep picking up Ormus's though, as I can always do better on the skill damage bonuses (and my best is still a 15/15/14 from the standpoint of the Perfect Grail scoring...)

I do have some eth Ormus' Robes but nowhere near a grail of them... I don't know if it would be harder than a standard grail or even Tyrael's, as it's hard to compare as Meph is a good source of Ormus' but not of many other things.
