Definitely not. If you keep your resistances low you might heal more but that means that you will also take more damage. For example you may heal 50 health but still take 20 damage.Does anyone know, if less resistance is actually more beneficial with The Rising Sun? I am not entirely sure after taking a look at the formula at the amazon basin, because I am probably too stupid to figure it out...
Hmm, then I probably really misunderstood it. Generally speaking, your explanation seems completely correct. But what about the Balrog"s Inferno especially? It does a rather low damage per frame, as far as I know. Let's say it is 54 (the number from amazon basin), that means even with -0% fire resist that is completely negated and I am then healed by 54 life (with 72 fire absorb). But if I have 90% fire resistance, all would be absorbed again but I would only be healed by 6 (the amount absorbed), correct?Definitely not. If you keep your resistances low you might heal more but that means that you will also take more damage. For example you may heal 50 health but still take 20 damage.
If you keep your resistances high, you might heal less but you will also receive less or no damage at all. For example you may heal 20 but won't take any damage.
Resistance is calculated first so final outcome will always be better with more resistances.
Absorption is a nice idea to write a guide!![]()
Your scenario seems correct since Flat Absorb against low damage attacks will heal you more. This is also why Lighting Absorb is usually popular due to lighting enhanced monsters which almost falls in the same category!Hmm, then I probably really misunderstood it. Of course, this is completely something else for high fire damage numbers, but for Balrogs especially it looks like you get more healing with less resistance. Of course, that doesn't really matter if you are at full life, but if one hits you with a melee attack and the other fire breathe in you, more healing would be greatly appreciated.
But I really don't know if I got this right...
Sorry for hijacking - shall I move this to another thread/PM?
