Stilts3: It's best to post immediately for lower runes, as Remlin said, but I am of the same mind that higher runes should be offered to the main tester if more than one is trying the same item type, or at least state what you're about to test as you've offered.
Remlin: I've uploaded all but Stilts3's last test to my webspace, the link is low on the last page. Even though Open Office tends to save cursor position and last page opened, I've adjusted my style of saving to make sure A1 is the highlighted box on every page and TOC is the initial page. I just can't add any pages or such due to OO's inability to save in Excel format without totally screwing the file up, and using it's own format tends to screw up everyone else.
Cher0kee: I'm still disheartened by the use of HEL runes that could be better used in other item types, especially after last night's revelation that dozens of orbs may have been passed over all this time during cow, Baal and other runs. Add to that you're so close to slowing to a crawl in orb testing, as Andy has with wands, and that you could've been trading perfect gems for 2OS orbs in channels. After all, you find tons of gems and few orbs in cows, why not offer the gems for orbs? 20 for 20 I'd say would be a fair trade, and most people would jump at the chance. It's the runes that are the most valuable, using them to remove failed tests seems like such a waste, as does using ISTs or higher in 2OS tests for items that could, invariably, have more than two sockets (like swords, axes and hammers). Personally, I think wands, circlets and necroheads would be the likely items for IST+ testing, followed by all other helms, knives, clubs, orbs, and such. Even shields can get four, though only three non-aurics are among them.
As for the best place to find 2OS orbs, I think everyone here would easily know this. Check my last few test posts and you'll find plenty of low-level 2OS orbs being used. I find them leveling mules. They drop as early as Blood Moor, but the advantage is few other items can drop so orbs are just that much more possible. The key is as low as you can go with no magic find and as many kills as you can get as fast as you can. Even normal cows are a tad too high, as they can drop a myriad of other items, so find the earliest area with large stocks of monsters and have at it, it should go quickly.
