I just collected a keyset in SP. It does nothing when trying to transmute them in Harrogath.
That is where I'm supposed to do it, right?

Edit. I tried in all acts. And I even tried going to tristram and hit transmute there, no go on either.

(Edit). Ok, no new extra endgame content for SP + overall lowered difficulty = fff. I guess I was expecting too much from the patch, but I'm pretty severely disappointed now.

Are you playing on the PTR or SP? I assume logging on loads the patch, so then you can play SP?

I'm really not sure about the IM / Gloam issue. Two of the challenging areas of the game ruined.
On the other hand, I would consider using a respec if it works on my existing characters. I have a few pre-enigma PvP characters that could use a bit of adjustment.

And once again, SP doesn't get what BNet gets. At least we have GoMule and other cool stuff to play with :smug:

EDIT: at Max, my thoughts exactly about IM/Gloams. Respec has got it's advantages, I agree. I too would want to change few stats and a skill here and there. It's just a handy too. But now there isn't too much fun in planning a char perfectly anymore, which I really enjoy.

Logging on the PTR loads the patch. And I'm getting orange runes and (the special) keys in unmodified SP afterwards, so I'm guessing the patch is good for offline play too. I don't know if there are any online specifics not mentioned in the log though.

So um, everyone's gonna be making twinked meteorbers to then respec and retwink to a pure Blizz one, a pure Light one, a pure Fire one, wacky character one, wacky character two and wacky character three.
Instakill IM is bad, No IM isn't therefor good.
Nerfed unique/champion Gloams, why in name's sake?
"Some rare drop items now have an orange color. i.e. Runes and items required for Uber Tristam.", i have no idea what that means, but i doubt its going to enrich the gameplay much.
Reduced fire explosion damage upon death, again, why?
Hellfire Torch ctc reduced to 5%, because its still gotta be annoying and drop games once in a while?
Waaaaaay to little skill rebalances.
Waaaaaay to little bug fixes.
No item rebalances?
No stat rebalances?
Disappointing.

Can someone else confirm my result? I replaced the single modified file (Diablo II Patch (Carbon)) with the original to get the 1.13 patch to install and I *think* that was the only changed file, but it has been so long since I installed RWM/RRM on my Mac.... I'd hate to be misleading people... anyone on Windows care to double check this?

Interesting... yes... I've not got any keys, but this does warrant testing.

I get gemmed ral tir tal sol cryptic axe, so you probably used your RWM shortcut to launch the game.

Switched mine back to RWM and it converted the axe to insight.

Agree.

They have definetly tried to make the game easier, which is not really what I wanted from this patch to be honest. I am yet to try it out but the respec thing just doesn't sit too well with me, half the joy is planning a char and seeing if it might work or not.
Glad to see hydra got a boost though, its definetly one of the skills with the most style points :)
But this is still a beta version right? Nothing is set in stone and beta users have their say etc etc, or am I completly out of it?

So. Blizzard left us out again. Thanks, mfers (and I don't mean their ability to find magic items. Thus, I have another reason to continue my D2 hiatus.

So, that means somehow the Mac 1.12 RWM mod works on 1.13. I can't figure out how this happened... unless my old file was a modded one... but then how did the patch install against that one and not the 'original' RWM one...?!?

I'm downloading the game from battle.net (native installer doesn't appear on the patch page any more, so I need the entire thing) and will reinstall clean to confirm it. It'll be tomorrow though, as the download is going to take 5 hours at this rate.

I'm not pleased.

Sorry for any false excitement there.

I just made myself a shiny new 1.13 Gemmed Thresher 'RalTirTalSol', so, er, yeah, no ladder RWs for unmodded SP.

Also, hammerdins can no longer hurt Achmel and crew with the blessed hammers. - Tested.

The shortcut where 'Enter' is supposed to default to selecting Hell difficulty (if available) when selecting characters, does not work. (SP feature) - Tested, not working.

I'm not sure what the outcry against respec is for. Isn't 1.09 ravenclaw the normal method of leveling in normal around here? That's not cheesy? Don't people around here use the /players command to get better drops and xp?

Nobody puts points in energy, even casters, even in the early game, when it helps the most. How many people have rebuilt characters from scratch when they found a new weapon or piece of armor? Have you ever gone through the tedious task of pre-calculating exactly how much str/dex to get to wear your equipment for hell before setting your foot on the normal blood moor?

I imagine it will lead to some builds that are great in norm/NM, but not so much in hell to actually be played more. (Tiger strike/DTail, for instance).

FWIW, I don't think respecing is that bad either. It will certainly come in handy for optimization, which I kinda like.

I agree that respec might be handy at times, also a limit of 3 per character will limit abusing it. But i really don't like removel of IM and nerfing Gloams. Sure i don't have much hardcore experience but those were things to plan ahead for, and planning a character is what keeps this game alive.

Once i connect battle.net and install the patch, can i revert back to 1.12? I am not ready for a permenant switch but i am also curious about it.
