I stand corrected. I guess my 1pt clay golem with 1pt in golem mastery just never did hit anything :) He was still a tough fellow and very well liked. The slowing was just a nice extra, really.

So now I'm in an predicament. I've been rerolling maps to find a Vortex Shield rack in the Halls of Pain since Thursday or Friday. I've just found one. Problem: The drop is dependent on the monster spawn in that room. I only get a Vortex Shield if Putrid Defilers spawn in that room. If the room is filled with Death Brawlers or Unholy Corpses, I don't.

Should I reroll to try and get a stable rack or just stick with it? All I want from that rack is 1x eth 45 res shield and 2x 0/3os 45 res shields. Rerolling maps can take ages and is incredibly dull and unrewarding, so I'm tempted to stick with the one I have now.

really depends on how often you roll the right rack.. if you have to travel a bit to get to the racks, but the right monsters only spawn like 1 out of 10 times then I'm tempted to say reroll that map...

From the few runs I've done so far I'd say I get the right spawn about 25% of the time. Racks are 7 teleports away from the WP.

Hm... I guess I better reroll. It'll take hundreds of runs to get an eth one with 45 resists. If I have to multiply that number by 4...

Damn, I just remembered that ethereal armor/shields come with a 50% ED mod in 1.07 and don't get ebugged properly. When did they change that? 1.08 or 1.09?

Edit: Just looked it up in the patch notes. Apparently they changed it in 1.09:
- Changed the 'Ethereal' property to modify base stats.

There goes my plan of racking an Exile base in 1.08...

this info is probably somewhere in this thread, but i couldn´t find it with the search function and neither do i want to read all 146 pages :)

i recently started a 1.07 sorc untwinked:

when was the static cap introduced? in classic one can static everything down to a sliver of life, even in hell. was this changed in lod with the very release?
i am lvl 16 now and planned to go 20 fire mastery 20 fireball 20 warmth 20 orb and x into static teleport and cold mastery. is fireball a viable backup skill? i couldn´t find any pre-synergy skill tables...

thx for any kind of feedback

(1) You're planning way too many points, you won't have that many available.
(2) See galtwish'es guide
(3) Static slivers in 1.07
(4) You don't need FB or FM, Cold Mastery breaks immunities. I mean, you can make a dual tree sorc, it's just there is no real need for it.
(5) MPK rings are fairly reasonable easy to "craft", and are much more reliable than warmth.

But some people who know about 1.07 more than I do should be here shortly to explain it better.

thanks a bunch both of u. this info changes my char plan a bit :) a few wasted skills, but seems i won´t need them badly anyway.

i will read this thread at some point, but after reading though all the SPTF-rules, info etc i really don´t want to do this right now :)

Krupa: There is a 1.07 guide and an addendum to the 1.07 guide that will answer 90% of your questions.

Plan on starting hell at level 50 or so, unless you are real into re-running for experience, or if you plan to cheese with the modified dll/multiple pc's to up the players count. And for fireball, it would be a viable skill, but tele + static are more helpful. I have future plans of eventually doing a fireball sorc.

And you can set the posts that display per page to 40, which will make the thread quite a few less pages.

Have some updates to post!

Earlier I was bragging about a pair of javelins I racked, and I think they are perfect:

Well, I found out one weakness:

Doh! I can make it around the cow level once and use about 60 if I wear Guillames, but it is a little slower than if I use Valk Wing and about 100 javs. The CB works great on Guillames and the strength does add damage to your throws. That kind of puts a huge dent in my plan of doing a max dex 1.07 Gunslinger, because dex doesn't add damage to javs!

Now time to brag. In the process of this, my Atma bank grew from under 2 million to just over 17 million. I would do five runs, sell what I picked up (125k gold), repeat five times then put gold in stash (625k gold), do that four times (max stash at 1850k gold and inventory would be at 650k gold) and then mule in Atma. I sold a little over 600 armors, collected 5 greens and 5 yellows, and got my precious:

Actually, in 1.07, Dex does add damage to javs...but NOT to 'Zon javs. Strength adds damage to both types, a bit more to the Zon javs.

Remember, like sorc orbs and assassin claws, the Zon weapons were new in 1.07, and were tweaked quite a bit in later patches...

Those javs are very nice, but a blood crafted harpoon could spawn very similar mods, with better base damage and almost guaranteed higher %ED, and would get bonus damage from dex...

BTW, Gratz on the Arkaine's...I still need to get one of those...

Hi,

is it possible to get an Scourge or BA rack on Hell in LK? How many map rerolls does it take? I've done about 10 rerolls with various combinations of racks, varying from 1-5 weapon racks. Do you usually just check out the nearest rack or do you clear the whole map before trying a new one? I've not done any LK before and I'm starting to like the area. I'm gonna start doing it in 1.13 too after I get my Eth Scourge for 1.13 Oath.

Scourges and Berserker Axes can drop from racks in LK in 1.07, yes. Difficult to give you a number of rerolls it might take, though. Could take you one, could take you a hundred. Just keep looking and you'll get them eventually.

Thanks for the congrats and amazing information. I have a good set of non amazon javelins with amp and ed to demons and undead, although the base damage is lower they would do more damage (and be cheaper) due to dexterity mulitplying my damage charms.

And those were racked while looking for +3/40 ias javs, so I cannot complain.

My method is to re-roll maps rather than run around silly, because it is hard to make long paths consistent. If my first few runs on a map produce either no stable racks or no useful items, I do not hesitate to reroll. I use an Assassin so I can reroll the rack with shadow master. For me, more racks on a map usually just takes longer to figure out I can't make anything stable.

I find that if you don't run a map several times you probably miss a stable drop (not that you would ever know) I have a map that has a stable: dusk shroud, BA, bone knife, tiara, & shako. And those are just the good bases! I did not even discover the stable BA rack until 1k+ runs on the map! Which brings me to my next question:

Am I cursed?

I have run this Bone knife rack for at least 2k runs, and it is at least 95% stable. I still don't have a golden bone knife! I have checked all of the rares, and it's not like they have failed(not that they should) What's the deal? I have racked a huge amount of other s/u items already on this map, like at least 20+

I have also noticed that I can change rack spawns by throwing a TP up when I'm near a rack, Is this not known? I can change my Belt rack (which has NEVER changed if I run in the proper order) to an overseer skull if I tp by it. I assume this is just like a summon.

Worg: I did some testing with a zon and a barb. Dexterity does add to damage of non-amazon javelins, so that is good news. The bad news is that damage charms do not effect the damage of the thrown javelin. This is also true when using Lightning Fury. The damage charms do work when attacking in melee. Darn Blizz. At least the LCS correctly displays this!

Kestegs: Sounds like a really nice map. The idea that a tp can change the seed is known, but it is not predictable. Two similar concepts are changing the seed with frw or by picking up an item from a pervious rack/chest. All three have been proven to have an affect on at least one rack by various people, but none of them are predictable enough to be worth trying on every map. It can be worth it when you have a good map to try them, but you already know that. I try to keep my runs for unique items in the 13-19 second range.

Edit: Great, I figured while I had it setup, I might as well make sure that damage charms work with bows. The LCS shows they do, but upon hitting my barb, no extra damage was done. Killing Zombies on the Moor took 16 arrows with +140 max damage (LCS max 750) and 15 arrows without any max damage charms (LCS max 228).

This in under 100 runs. I can do this rack probably faster than I can do pindle in 1.13. Start in act 4, WP to LK, 2 teles, pop balrog skin, 2 teles back, wp to act4. Rinse and repeat.

Now, do the stats stay the same if I take the item forward to 1.13? I mean, does the lvl and str req stay the same?

Do the partial set bonuses work in 1.07? I have read statements both that they work correctly and that they are bugged.
