Just coming back to Diablo II and thought I would play some 1.07. I used to play 1.07 some years ago but I couldn't remember it being this easy. :p

My sorc hasn't stopped once to gain EXP yet and now I am in hell act 5 about to do ancients at level 51. Everything just dies in a couple of seconds. -_-

Anyways, I was lucky and had Skullders Ire drop (see the attachment). However, the item say Gold find instead of Magic find. Is this a display issue and in fact it does give me Magic find?

And circlets only have a maximum of 1 socket right? I vaguely remember so...

I'll probably come back to this super awesome thread frequently like I used to. We cannot let this thread die can we? ;)

So I guess my question is why does it explain gold find? What kind of bug is this? Are there more of these bugs in 1.07?

It's a display bug. The armor works as intended (MF). I'm not sure if there are similar bugs, I wouldn't be surprised tho.

Yes circlets have a maximum of one socket.


1.07 with an untwiked sorc is not easy at all (do you already had gear for her?). Most monsters die easily due to static field not being capped and being p1, but several packs/uniques are very hard.

I didn't have gear for her, and I do agree that some monsters are ridiculously strong. However, I still think it's very easy to finish act 5 hell with a sorc in 1.07 from scratch. Rejuvenation potions makes it just silly easy. It took me 6 hours I guess. The "hardest" and most tedious part was getting level 30. Once I was 30 I just quickly teleported to act 5 nightmare and killed ancients for exp and then just teleported to act 5 again in hell to kill ancient for exp.

Anyways, thanks for your answer. I tested the armor too and it does seem to work as intended. I guess it's just one of the strings in the string table that is wrong.

Anyways, now I am trying to obtain 374% MF. I just need a few topazes and I am good to go. Though I think I want to hunt Gem Shrines instead to just upgrade the few flawless topazes I already got. ;)

Gratz on the Skulldur's...VERY lucky find, that! Did it drop in NM or Hell? Prior to hell council, in any case...believe it or not, that one item is probably responsible for your easy game. MDR is VERY powerful in 1.07, and skullder's comes with a whopping 25MDR! Try taking it off and hitting hell council or river of flame again without it...abyss knights can do some serious damage w/o that MDR. Telesorcs are fast in most patches, as they can skip most things that they don't wanna deal with...with unlimited full juvs, you can get through alot quickly that way.

I'm curious as to how your sorc found the Maggot Lair? Coldworm was pretty damn nasty to mine, I was cursed and poisoned the entire time I was on the 3rd lvl...took me ages to complete...

Thank you very much. It dropped in hell though and I couldn't use it before I finished Baal because of the strength requirement. :p

But you're right, this armor is super awesome. 25 MDR is amazing. I just need some better resistance and I should be pretty safe for future Travincal runs. However, I must admit I really like the Tal armor, belt and amulet combo for the great stats though so if I find them eventually I think I will swap. Maybe my future Travbarb can have my Skullders then. :)

As for the Maggot Lair I just tele'd down and TK the chest and staff and TP right up. :p The fat worm wouldn't die even if I tried for 5 minutes so I decided to just leave him down there. He (she???) is probably giving birth to loads of maggots as we speak.

I actually just started a Fury druid. I think he will be very challenging to get through 1.07. I want to try to play untwinked just to experience how harsh it really is. Maybe I will try without unlimited rejuvenation potions as well. ;)

Just a quick question though. How would you guys skill your Fury druid? I was thinking just HoW, Lycan, Werewolf and Fury. I was thinking about a backup spell for PI's but I just found a 5 socket Chu-Ko-Nu and those are really fast so maybe I will just PGem it with some Topazes or Rubies? Or will Fireclaw work as a backup?

Maybe I don't need a backup though, as I've decided to use an Act 1 merc with a CTC AMP bow.

Not 100% sure about the fury druid, as I haven't got around to playing one yet (its on the list, though...), but the wereform calc site I have bookmarked differentiates between 1.09 and 1.10...I expect 1.07 would be more in line with the 1.09 calcs...

I'm pretty sure the item bonuses for wearing more pieces of a set was added with patch 1.10, so the 10FCR on the belt, armor and amu will not be available. The +65% MF will though, but the set in itself isn't anywhere close to what it is in 1.10+

As for fury druids, life leech is king, since act 5 doesn't have random monsters and you'll find no unleechables at all. Some Feral rage, lots of STR and a sturdy barb merc will go a long way.

Yea, but I do like the resistance and skills+life mana from tal set though.

I am actually using a Act 1 merc and are debating whether I want Oak Sage or HoW. My merc would probably like Oak but I don't like giving up free damage. :p

I was thinking about using a cruel fanged knife of quickness and try to get 3 sockets just for style and try to get CB on gloves and guil face.

Set bonuses are enabled. Maybe on class specific sets they aren't, but I know Sigon's gives life leech with two items (or at least it says it displays), and also the individual items get their own bonuses as well. So unless there's something going on that I don't know about, they are enabled.

Iirc, set bonuses are enabled but item bonuses for having X parts of the set aren't.

The problem is the elite sets. They do not have the green bonuses such as sigons boots with 50% MF after 3 pieces.

So I've been doing a few runs here and there on a light plated boot rack hoping to get goblin toe in HC. The rack has not delivered my goblin toe. After 50 vidala's fetlock, and about 20 bad drops where it gave plate mail instead of light plated boot, I'm rerolling.
