Re: Y.A.W.P's Warcraft Themed Pen 'n Paper RPG style Mafia Game Game Thread
I see my vote wasn't counted. It looks valid to me, but maybe someone else can double check.
I was working on responding to Sathoris. However, I don't think my reply will give any more info, will prompt for any more info, or will do any better job of explaining why I voted in the first place.
I had finished my replies to Ankeli and Uraj at the time of the pause button. Here they are:

I don't expect a lot of action until tomorrow - seems like New year's is absorbing the entire weekend. Goryani, I'[d be interested in seeing your lengthy post.

I'm with Noodle regarding extensions and such. Drunk posing FTW!
Anyway, Goryani, seeing as Dragomir bit it and he was the other one to give off information about the cult, I'd spill out as much as I could during this day phase if I was you. I'm telling you to reveal all your cards, and trusting on the doc. We need all the info we can get, especially if we were originally facing (still are?) 2 recruiting factions.
Good point about the doc. The doc shouldn't try to save me. I'm not worth saving since I'm just a Peon.
I know what I know because my role says so. I believe Dragomir's role also said so. Short of naming the two recruiting factions I don't see what other factual information I can share regarding recruitment.
I don't know who the recruiters are. I don't know how many started the game in each faction. I can't tell if anyone gets recruited (no kill night being a recruitment is speculation on my part). I don't know if members of a faction know the other members. I don't know if members can night talk to each other. I don't definitively know the alignment of either faction (one pro-town, one anti-town is a guess, but a strong guess).
I'm not sure Gorny actually had a power role. The name Ogrim Doomhammer by itself seems important, but to me the Rogue Adventurer was the role. Which I would take as saying that he had a DPS role. The only thing I found that might have indicated he had more than a basic role started with a post where he capitalized Vendetta mid-sentence. He later linked the Vendetta Rogue skill that apparently "Marks an enemy for death." Though he also could have just been hinting he was a rogue. Along those lines I think some of the youtube videos might have been to hint that he was Ogrim Doomhammer.
Do you have any other thoughts to suggest Gorny indeed had a power role?
I would bet that Gorny had a power role. There are a number of reasons. To start with, others believe the same thing. To give my own reasons:
I believe that DPS roles ARE power roles, even if they have no other abilities. DPS roles can initiate combat and possibly do a good job of causing injuries. Cause enough injuries and a DPSer will either kill someone or cause them to rest. Resting, YAWP said, prevents the resting player from performing any other night action. It sounds like DPS roles are sometimes vigilante/SK and sometimes roleblockers. That meets my definition of power role.
