Wolfbarbs-The ultimate guide (Revised verson)

Drake, you have a stash full of 3/20/xx. That's alot of damage and AR added with charms alone. I cannot get my hands on 32020s that wont poof on me.

By the way, what ED is your caddy? Mine's 212% and it's doing **** damage.

And how are you hitting that 86%FHR breakpoint?

30 - Valor
10 - Dungo
5 - Small charm

That's adds up to 45. Where are you getting the rest from?

Well I've kept my charms since .9 so I don't get a poofing problem, my Caducues is perfect. And I just stick with a 4 frame FHR which is the 42% BP, It's not neccesary for melee to have 86% unless dealing with a smiter.

Hey zero what you do think about an elite eth cube glitched prudence armor for an armor selection? It can reach 3K + defense, 25 to 35 resists, 25 faster hit recovery, and 17 MDR. I think its pretty nice for the ones who can't afford eth zod +2 valor.

Ya I definatly say it has benefits if you want a high defense armor, trick is though, getting 2 sockets. As for the Mastery question, we wouldnt be using Grisworlds Redemption if it didn't.

Hi,

I've read through your wolf-barb guide numerous times and it's very good. I like it. However, I've had some difficulty trading for a 4-os Griz Caddy for some time now (E/SC/NL), and was wondering if you knew the "price" of the weapon? I surely don't want to spend much more than I have to, but my offers continue to turned down. Preferably if you, or anyone, could tell me the price in your average d2 currency...

Thanks.

I got my crappy Gris Caddy and 4x Shaels for an 2xIsts. I was desperate to get my wolfbarb up and running at that time.

So far my barb has been doing great, here are his stats:

Life: 8097
Def: 26k (29k w/ chilling armor from fort)
Dmg: 1996-2210
Strength:109 base - 204 w/ gear
Dex:141 base - 196 w/ gear
Vit:275 base - 358 w/ gear

Vs zealots i do pretty good, evenly matched with many of them.
Conc barbs i handle fine
WW barbs are pretty easy as well
Good fury druids do pretty good against me, evenly matched.
Casters i can tank pretty well so it makes it easier to beat them.

Well thats about it, if anyone wants to duel with their wolfbarbs you can whisper me at veck at useast.

or a mind blast spamming trapper :(

To lazy to read the last 83 pages...

Why a 4 shael Gris Caddy? On the calculator it says it reaches 4 frames. Is it really better than a 31%+IAS Grief Phase Blade(5 frames)?

EDIT:
Whoops, was putting -10 instead of +10 on base speed box. 3 frames..hmm..

Well, my question still remains. :p

This was mentioned somewhere in the guide, you're reading and inputing the the values of the calculator wrong. For the attack do not use Feral Rage, for some reason the creator the calculator did something wrong there. Instead put in Normal Attack and that should ive you the proper values. It takes a total of 120% IAS discluding its base speed to gain it.

I don't quite understand...

I input the info followed:
Barbarian
Werewolf
Standard Attack(really the breakpoints for Feral Rage, though, right?)
Mace
Base Speed: +10
WIAS 120%
Werewolf lvl1
Frames= 4

Is that right?

Put Werewolf at level 20+ to get the full values in, but everything else is right and you don't necessarly need to put in the WIAS. Just go the full chart.

Why level 20 Werewolf?

So, the real frames for a 31%+ Grief Phase Blade is 7?

Yes, that is right. I use level 20 becuase that is what I'm most comofartable with and most Wolfbarbs can achieve that level of a shift.

alright awesome guide, but i need some advice

i am on ladder, with a death cleaver, dracs, gores, wolfhowl and dungoes in my stash. also are 2 angelic rings, 1 angelic ammy, 2 spirit swords and several poison scs.

i am relativly poor, and have only one high character, an 86 conviction pally, which owns ubers, but cannot do much else. i need to know my best bet for weapon, sheild, and armor, as i cannot afford to screw it up. also, please give the price of the stuff on ladder if possible.

the second question is, how well does this work in hell, especially acts 4 and 5.

the third is, would death cleaver be effective, or should i trade it for an azure or gris caddy?

as i have 2 FULL days to play, please answer as soon as possible

one quick other thing, can this guy even do anything before level 79?

Well, I am not aware of currency or ladder prices for items. However you would definatly want to seek a Stormshield as priority one, Deathcleaver, I see is no sufficient enough for any Wolfbarb. So I would recomend one of those two that you mentioned, as far as how these work in hell only real concern you need to look out for is Iron Maiden and Amplify Damage. You'r Wolfbarb would most likely be a tank. When leveling you're pretty much usless untill that point.

thanks man, what about armor though? should i go for valor, or try duress or stone? i can afford them, at least i think i can.

Actually Zero my 2nd wolf barb used a sheal'd 260% death cleaver and he faired very well (though compared to my 3rd's sheal'd griz caddy the caddy takes the cake). So i wouldnt necessarially not recomend its use (though i used it with duress, gores, dracs/rends). Just my 2 cents ne ways lol.
