Already found my sword of destiny, so I don't need to dream of making it far enough to get a doombringer. Found a shadowfang in the arcane sanctuary, lucky me. Killed duriel and am waiting in kurast now.

Kavarin, sorry, I didn't check to see the names of the other characters and didn't realize you'd already taken Lancelot. I'll change mine when I get a chance.

Into Act II now with Boxxy, not much to report from Act I, it was slow going till i got to the tower quest. After killing the countess without to much trouble i decieded to farm her for runes for a while, to see if i could find that elusive sol rune needed to upgrade my SoD. After about 12 runs i had a shael and a thul for my troubles, so i stuck the shael in my sword and used the thul to ungrade my mercs armor. As i was travelling to the Tamoe Highlands a rare eth plate mail dropped with some nice mods, 17% fhr, 33 life, some lightning resist and a 21 %ed. After upping it to a templar coat it now has 495 def, not bad at all. Just took down the summoner and planning my attack on Act II, never gotten a toon in HC past this act.

Scorpeia got a Felicitous ring from Akara for rescuing Cain. Best thing I've ever gotten from her, and I can't use it. She's found a pair of rare boots and gloves for herself and a rare long bow for Raissa, nothing worth mentioning. Countess dropped Nef and Eld.

Andariel dropped Hsaru's Belt and a rare 2-hand sword. Nothing useful.

When I got home from vacation, I was a bit surprised so small amount of SoD was found. Also, I can't belive Amazons owns all my fellow Barbarians :crazyeyes: .. What are we gonna do about it? Let's show them :yes:

As for Macho, he passed Act 2 without problem, sure was happy that I didn't have to clear all those false tombs before end :nod:
Most significant find: 3% LL dual resist rare ring.
Since I haven't find any interesting polearm/spear I'm still with rouge merc.

I'm sorry for your loss Raver. Seems like you were making some good progress before biting the dust. Hope you give it another go.

It took some time, but the CS has been cleared. Pretty safe overall. Or at least as safe as one can get being seriously underpowered, with low resists and IM around.
Had a funny observation while taking big D himself. If i stood a bit away from him he normally attacked my valk. But on some occassions he'd turn around and go for me instead. I didn't move an inch so that couldn't be it. But after a while i suddenly realist what caused this. It was the switching of my hotkeyed skill. As long as i had inner sight selected he'd go for the valk. But the instant i switched to valkyrie he'd ignore the valk and go for me. And as soon as i switched back to inner sight his interest in me was over. Needless to say i'd keep away from selecting valk as much as possible. Only for a quick recast and than asap to another skill.
Diablo dropped nothing usefull. Many rares, including 2 bows and a x-bow. But since i can't use those it was just good for cash to ressurect the merc.

Also gave crafting another attempt. Got close to a good craft with some gloves. 20% IAS, 3% dualleech and CB but no resists whatsoever.

Only one more act to go. Though i doubt it'll be the easiest. Taking care is still in order.

Moved Haerviu to the running table because just like XxuberstarxX i think he's still alive. If i'm wrong it's easy enough to switch him back.

Also added SoD before the current sword for those who have already found one. Makes it easier to see who's found his/her SoD and who's using some rare.

@Buraz: With the untimely dimise of Raver amazons are now in the lead in both tables :alright: (small silver lining for Raver). But i sure hope you give it a good try. It would be nice to see more peeps walking around in hell.

I'm working on a sin and a pally at the moment for the tournament. I'm just deciding which I'd rather use and am leaning towards the pally because although I've built him to be a zealer I'm having a lot of fun with sacrifice.

Meh, prophetic post. She's staying there now. Time to figure out what to play next. I'd ignore the sword altogether and make a DTalon Assassin, but that goes against the spirit of the rules.

I've added myself to the list again with a lvl 18 Barb. Not sure if I'll go Berserk or Concentrate atm. More dmg and no IM worries with Berserk, but no leech makes it more risky... I kinda like the non-uninterruptability (lol what a word) of Concentrate, since my fhr is gonna suck like, erm, a thing that sucks very much.

It's much safer with the barb than the Pala, and I don't even yet have BO or Natural Res. Once I get them it should be a breeze so long as I don't find some crap weapon. Right now my sword does leave a lot to be desired.

Well everything has gone well for my pally, but there have been a few close calls against cold and curse packs so I'll need to be watching out for those guys. Act 1 was a real push over with a lot more rares then I'm used to seeing. One of the rares happened to be a ring and I'm embarassed to admit I said something really stupid when I saw it. . . "wow, that's rare!".

Heh. Went and got myself killed at diablo because I was too slow with the rejuvs.

My advice to anyone joining is, DO NOT USE ZEAL. I thought it would be a great idea, but these swords are ridiculously slow and you stay frozen for over a full second.

If someone could remove me from the table, I'd appreciate it! Good luck to all you left!

OrangeJuice is finally Concentrated!

He fully intended to go all the way to Lut Gholein today (and may get there yet), but he desperately needed to mule off some gems/jewels/rejuvs/etc.

He rebuilt his sword just after hitting level 18, now with a +3 min damage/+9 Defense jewel, a flawed topaz (thanks Countess!), and a chipped ruby. (I meant to take a screenie, but it'll have to wait), and he kills much faster now. Good times.

He had some trouble in the Jail, level 1. 2 packs of skellie archers, one cursed (decrepify) and one cold enchanted: 2 merc resurrections and about 30 light healings (his whole stash) later, he left the merc dead, switched to rejuves and concentrated his way through. Tough, for sure, and scary too, but not too bad.

He also had a great find, maybe the best thing I've ever seen fall from the Smith! Alas, this is not the Bow Masters Tournament. . .

@skoolbus: Sorry about the deeds. I've moved poor Lancelot to the Fallen Heroes table. I'm glad I picked Charge/Holy Freeze instead of zeal. The surgical strikes are all that have saved me from certain death, on a number of occasions.

@Nogan: You deleted Gurloes from the table. I'll never forgive you! Wrath and fury and vengeance! etc.

Not much news here. Learning a bit from uberstar's issues with Elessar in Act 2, I beefed up my lightning resist. Those bugs were no trouble. Time to take down The Summoner.

p.s. New sword! I found a Zweihander with a few open sockets. Better than my Great Sword, but still nothing special. I need a good rare... or a Sword of Destiny. I don't want to make my one runeword yet...

ChosenOne finally achieved the status of Destroyer. CS and the whole act 5 were pretty easy, but took awhile because of his low damage. Diablo and Baal took ages to take down and I lost my nerve a couple of times battling Baal because he kept spamming his frost-attack, teleporting around and casting his clone all the time. Plus ChosenOne's low chance to hit didn't help at all.

Drops were disappointing. Diablo dropped a couple of low lvl greens and Baal didn't even drop that much. I ran Eldrich to gain levels and find rares and I think he dropped a couple of rare armors and a Shael.

On the other hand, NM started pretty nice, and out of the gate first unique that fell, dropped this. After that ChosenOne took down Blood Raven and is now resting at the Cold Plains waypoint.

@nunka: I'm sorry. I was reorganizing the table based on level when I realized it was organized by progress and must have lost your character somewhere in the mix.

Spider Cavern lived up to its name. On top of at least 7 magic groups on the way to the Eye, my game was glitching or something and monsters absolutely refused to attack my mercenary. Because of this, I decided to simply run from the boss of the lair as I wasn't risking my character to an Extra Strong, Fire Enchanted, and Cursed mofo without the shield of a merc.

The not attacking my merc thing is actually becoming rather prevalent, and I have to assume it's a glitch. Monsters simply will not acknowledge his presence, instead, choosing to wander in my direction, even with no direct line of sight, whenever my merc aggros them. I have been witness to multiple occasions where, when there was absolutely no way to get to me, monsters would simply walk into walls while my merc proceeded to poke them to death. I know this isn't a factor of Hardcore difficulty AI.

I've been reading along ever since my beloved Baam-Baam died. I had inserted my amazon into the tables, but she was edited out along the way and I figured I'd just wait to post and reinstate her when I finished Act 1, which I finally did! Yay!

Pointu, the amazon, is now level 19 and contemplating a new merc in Lut Gholein. She's still using her same gemmed sword but Andarial gifted her with a decent rare ring with resists, strength, and replenish life. The boots she claimed from the spider queen were lacklustre at best with stamina and light radius. Increased light radius? The last thing I want is monsters to see me from even farther away!

ADVICE WANTED: Which merc would be helpful to a passive Amazon?
