Wowza! Lots of great updates! And (belated) congrats to @Bewitch , it's great to see some old characters back in action!
I've made a bit of progress myself:
Das-Omen
CLVL 98.7 Lightning Sorceress
So, not a lot of progress for four months ... but it's been hard fought on a couple of fronts.
First, I'm continuing to level without Terror Zones ... because that's the mission I set out to accomplish back in December of 2021.
And second, and this is really what's slowing things down, I've just been having the hardest time resolving the tendonitis in my right arm. It started back in May of 2022, about when Das-Omen hit clvl 98. And if I'd known then that it was going to go on for this long, I probably would have said: 'Damn the torpedoes!' and punched her through to clvl 99 last summer. But instead, I took the extremely cautious, and wholly unsatisfying approach, of trying to resolve it by giving up the things I want to do (including D2), while continuing to do the job, that seemed like the most likely culprit all along. With all but giving up almost all hobbies proving ineffective, in August I finally resolved to give up my job. I tried to quit, instead I got promoted
. Probably just as well. Now I get to stay on the same health insurance plan while doing physical therapy ... which seems to be helping! So, perhaps with a new role at work, and physical therapy, I'll finally make some real progress towards getting my right arm better!
But, enough about that. This is supposed to be a Das-Omen progress report! She progressed from 98.5 in May, to 98.7 in August (before the right arm really, and suddenly, got bad again ... hence the delayed progress report). Progress came from Baal runs, with daily sessions lasting half an hour or less. So yeah, it's taking a while for the xp to add up. But on the bright side, it's hard to get bored just doing Baal runs when you're doing so few per day! Even so, I considered changing to Diablo runs at some point ... But then didn't. Mostly because it's just so satisfying having a character that's operating in a pre-D2R paradigm, and can still average about two and a half minute Baal runs. I loved my fully geared 1.11b Hammerdin (enough to take him to clvl 99), but the difference in power between the two characters is just staggering. Fully geared Lightning Sorceress FTW!
Another reason for opting to stick with Baal, was that I felt there was a better shot for making grail progress. And it seemed to work! I managed to check the last two outstanding set items off Das-Omen's personal grail:
And then, once Das-Omen's set grail was complete, a few runs later, the game offered up the final hold out once again .
And a few other repeat TC 87s dropped between clvl 98.5 and 98.7:
So, Das-Omen's personal grail stands at:
The HanShotFirst 1.10+ career grail is at -2 with Astreon's and Tyrael's being the final holdouts. I'd really like to find both of those before I start making characters that use Terror Zones (but could probably settle for just finding Astreon's). Fingers are crossed for Das-Omen's final .3 of clvl 98! ... otherwise I'll have some deciding to do ...
Gear:
Hasn't changed much since the start of clvl 98. And in fact, the only gear change since 98.5 was an upgrade from 46 MF War Traveller's to 49 MF War Traveller's . Thank you Baal. But, I'll go ahead and repost gear for those wondering. I also uploaded her to the D2Planner at maxroll back at clvl 98.33 here should anyone be interested/prefer that format.

I'm going to continue my break from D2 for a bit longer and give my right arm the maximum rest/minimal use possible. The arm has been feeling much better (and made measureable progress in terms of improved range of motion) since changing roles at work and starting physical therapy, but I don't want to press my luck. When I get going again, the plan is Baal, Baal, and more Baal. Geib Astreon's now dude! But until then, I'll be saving up my drop luck and enjoying everyone else's progress updates!
