The Enchantress Tournament

I've tried something like this before but I simply could not go on ignoring all those fire immunes in hell. This sorc is much more fun/viable with Thunderstorm as a backup skill.

After 5 yrs of diablo 2, I've never done an enchantress - now seems to be the perfect time...

Wow, I had heard that Sorcs were good at wielding 2-handed axes, but it is still surprising to see my sorc swing her axe so fast. I have never been a big fan of axes, so this is my chance to get more familiar with them. (Is there any weapon name that is sillier than "Humongous?")

By the way, I intentionally omitted Static Field from the list of skills - I felt that using Static Field was out of theme and would make Normal too easy. Any opinions? One possible option would be to allow Static Field to be used in Hell -if anyone gets there. I'm not particularly advocating it - I'm just interested in knowing whether there are strong feelings on the subject.

I feel more for the earlier suggested thunderstorm. Against Fire immunes...
I planned on making a tournament with a mana only sorc (in the line of my two other recent tourneys) and designed it almost like yours, but with extra thunderstorm and extra limit that all stat points be had to be placed in energy. No use for that tourney now anymore :)

In my opinion, there is no other way to build an enchantress than with a big hurty stick. :grin: The extra speed she gets with staves, 2-handed axes, polearms and mauls is just too nice to pass up. I'll likely end up going polearm this time around unless I find a good socket staff along the way.

I've got two melee Enchantress mats and a third questing in hell. None of them have any points in static. It just always felt wrong on an enchantress. :grin:

I agree with you, but another option, the one I'm currently taking, is ranged. However, I probably will end up just like you.



 
This tourney seems great, i was hoping to start an enchantress for a long while but kept postponing it. But i feel quilty since i still couldn't finish my last tourney project, which was Quickdeath's idea again :embarassed:

My bowler from the moo moo king must die tourney is still in act 2 NM, i didn't had time to play diablo since than and i still seem not to have time but this tourney may be the one i need to end my relatively short break from diablo.

And hopefully i will also play up to at least hell with my bowler Quickdeath , just keep up this nice and simple tourneys :thumbsup:

I will add my sorc when i come up with a name...

Haven't tried an enchantress since my returning to D2 so im looking forward to this experience.

its a bad sign that i had my first NDE in the bloor moor on players 5! i managed to get back to down with ohh 5 life points....so yeah if i get to NM i'll chalk this as an success

OhH deadly large Axe is just as it sounds!

i think my "goal" will be to have my sorc have dream/dream while sporting a kingslayer of some type

i don't think that is an unrealistic goal at all, i mean its only what 6 high end runes? no problems!

p.s: this tourney will go for the next 6 years or so right?
ok good so then my goal might be reached!

I just patted my Hunter Druid, so I need a new char to play and an Enchantress sounds quite interesting!

Just what I need, a fifth tournament. Sigh.
 
I would love to join this tournement. I, too have been dieing to make an enchantress, but have never gotten around to it, no better time than know.

I think I would have perfered to make one with Static Field, for it seems to be the only way to kill things in hell, but it will still be satifying without that particular skill.

I started an enchantress in SC. One day after this tourney she will be a bear enchantress, but for now will be played like an executress. Axes ftw.

I will also join this tournament. I have not decided on a name for my sorc yet or exactly on my skill point allocation so I will probably add myself when I start the character which should be tonight or tomorrow morning. I just feel obligated to join another tourney after the sad demise of MsMaxDex.

Very easy Skill placement... The only skills that really make her an Enchantress is Warmth (Synergy to Enchant), Enchant (duh!?!), and Fire Mastery... 62 pts (with Pre-reqs Fire Bolt and Fire Ball)... Finished at cLvl 51 :grin:

I've made it to Inner Cloister, but with 3 NDE's -including one VERY close shave with Pitspawn Fouldog. A word of advice to everyone: Do not neglect pumping up your health points with Vitality and chipped rubies in sockets. These little Sorcs are Fragile and their health ball can drop quickly.

Yes, but there are other options. Cold Armors? I'm investing in them for the freezing effect and the adders on to defense plus the little bit of cold damage. And do you want to take a go at Energy Shield? And at least one point in Cold Mastery and Lightning Mastery is probably wise to increse damage from charms and equipment modifiers. Conversely, there once was a "Masteries tournament" where your Sorc could only invest in the Masteries as a multiplier to damage from charms etc - and someone Matted a Masteries Sorc. So, there really are some different ways to approach this. In any case, the first 60 points should not be put into warmth. enchant and fire mastery -unless you don't want teleport... or a cold armor....
