The Amazon Territory -- Off Topic

Just Doctor Who. That's the best one. I am unaware of any others atm. I am not watching any new ones. I tries The 100 but fell away after 3 or 4 episodes. I just can't think of any new ones at all.

Sliders isn't new and as I recall was a spin off time or alternate universe thing. It might be ok.

I have a Convo Goin about the Participants Favorite T.V. show themes New and Old I could make anew and include if anyone would want to partake? :D

Anywho... M*A*S*H came up too...

just remembered of this when I was out and about...

M.A.S.H. Theme.

I LOVE the backstory on that.

Suicide Is Painless” is a song written by Johnny Mandel (music) and Mike Altman (lyrics), which is best known for having been featured as the theme song for both the movie and TV seriesM*A*S*H. The actual title is "Song from M*A*S*H (Suicide Is Painless)". Mike Altman is the son of the original film’s director, Robert Altman, and was 14 years old when he wrote the song’s lyrics. During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in the 1980s, Robert Altman said that his son had earned more than a million US dollars for having co-written the song while he only made US$70,000 for having directed the movie.

The song was written specifically for Ken Prymus (the actor playing Private Seidman), who sang it during the faux suicide of Walter "Painless Pole" Waldowski (John Schuck) in the film's "Last Supper" scene.[1][2] Robert Altman had two stipulations about the song for Mandel: first, it had to be called "Suicide Is Painless"; second, it had to be the "stupidest song ever written".[3] Altman tried to write the lyrics himself, but found that it was too difficult for his 45-year-old brain to write "stupid enough".[4] Instead he gave the task to his 14-year-old-son, Michael, who apparently wrote the lyrics in five minutes.[5][6]

Altman later decided that the song worked so well, he would use it as the film's main theme, despite Mandel's initial objections.[7] This version was sung by uncredited session singers John Bahler, Tom Bahler, Ron Hicklin and Ian Freebairn-Smith (the vocals are sometimes misattributed to Johnny Mandel, due to his being the only name officially credited for the song).[citation needed]

Crappy vid but its ok...

I liked it when I first heard it all those years ago... Today it is the same :D

where is the convo? I like Cheers, Mash, Hill Street Blues, Doctor Who and probably several others.

What about game music? Game opening theme songs. Morrowind is probably the best opening tune as far as I am concerned. Also like Diablo 2, probably mostly for nostalgia though.

You would not mind then a Go at partaking in such the convo I have going?

The Conversation in question was made by myself a private one, I did not want to muck up the OTF or the D2 Character OTFs with such a convo... (I'd reconsider though upon request to have it here instead? oO )
I did not want any topic derails in particular (pointing out a topic derail is in and of itself a topic derail?) if instead had i posted this in the OTF or most any other place... I don't mind topic derails, but some do not... (I was just being considerate of OTFs lfow of conversation in particular...)

(The previous convo's participants: Bobcox2, Dredd, Myself, Jmervyn(has opted out of convo), Leopold Stotch (has expressed interest in partaking), Vivi (has yet to post, I don't think she will though)

I will remake the Conversation, and include the participants that posted before and introduce what was in the previous into the new convo at steady pace if it would be approved of that One(me) does so to make sure one(me) does not inundate the topic/convo with a wall of quotes with the previous convo's
posts...

The Conversation will be titled:

Favorite T.V. Show/Video Game Opening Themes? (Mark III)
(Will Add Interested Folks Upon Request... ;))
(The New convo's participants: Bobcox2, Dredd, Myself, Leopold Stotch

Good Day and Good Forum Session :D

I'll give it a go. Although why not put it in the OTF? It is, actually off topic. But whatever. I'd like to be exposed to some new tv and game tunes that I don't know.

I still find morrowind to have the best music of any game I played.
I even listened to the music without playing the game, was good that all the music files where in mp3 format.

I have the mp3's on my ipod. I just listened to the opening theme earlier today after posting it in this thread.

The Skyrim expansion Dragonborn has so many Morrowind elements in it. Solstheim, incidental music, and those floating fat creatures with the long tendrils hanging down. No cliff racers, thankfully.

Did all the Android users take advantage of the free Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Tape Vol. 1 download the other day?

Thats a cat basket.

My Cousin once said to me one day while I was visiting him and his wife, I had my computer over for a lan up...
He has two Cats, one now has its status as an outside cat, the other is an inside cat...
The one that is the inside cat decides to sit right the H*** next to my puter, on a stack of magazines i think...
I asked my cousin if "Kittyfeet" normally does this...

His reply...

EvilFury's Cousin said:
If it fits, it sits...
