Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

REALLY sorry about the triple post, I really am. I'm just to used to forums where you aren't allowed to post a new one if yours is the latest :) Hope you can forgive me and I will try to be better.

So BO and Oak doesnt add to things:
All +vit and life/level from items

But from EVERYTHING else?
This means that it's better to have an item that gives 2 to life than 2 vita for example?

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Yes. Pretty much any item that gives straight life is amplified.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Well, my druid is up to 81, yet to do any of my resist quest and most of my skill quest, but this is what I got so far in Hell. I'm hoping it will survive because I play in Hardcore. :[ Oh and my up'd eth ribby is about to break, can't quite find a zod. Just wanted your opinion Verashiden, if I'm doing well or not.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

You're doing fine, though I'm worried about your AR.

'Sides, this is BJam's show. Call him out first ;)

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Strength is more than I would expect for the build, but not a big deal.

Resists are a little low, so I'd definitely do the quests in Norm and NM before heading to act 2 (if not sooner).

I'm most worried about your AR too. It should be at least twice what you have now. It's easily fixed with charms and rings though.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Hmm, guess I'll need to go on some search for some rings and charms. :o

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

i dont calculate too much. Neither do I use the calculators. Could you tell me real quick what are the most important mods on charms for this build? I read about Mephisto's conviction aura though (-125 to all resists ).

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

I spent alot of hrs getting my CoH, and after 4-5 games it started loosing duriability and costs nearly 1million gold to repair :S owch much? lol
that normal for runewords?

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

For runewords in superior armor? Yes.

Solution: Ral runes. That + armor in cube = repaired armor.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Bjam, Why don't you use Rabies instead of Feral Rage ? It's 1 frame faster with tomby, 2 frames faster with ribby. The 25% to 33% extra speed is easily better than the %ed from a maxed Feral Rage, and you get more CB hits to boot. Also it's pretty effective at level 1 saving skill points.
If you want speed boost/leech from Feral Rage you switch to Feral once every to seconds since it's benefits pass to other skills.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

That's because:

1. Rabies has lower physical damage, meaning the last part of life that can't get cut with CB would take forever.

2. With BNet's current dupe policy, using Rabies in UT would result in a Disconnect.

3. Rabies Doesn't hit the same AR boost of Feral.

1. Lower physical damage per hit but more hits. Might need to do the math on this one. You might find Rabies actually does more physical damage. If your FR is high and ed is low then maybe. But then is this enough to offset the extra CB ? Especially with a ribby it's 6 frames vs 8 frames - that's a lot. At level 30 FR it's 195%ed. If you have 500%ed then FR adds 7.95/6 = 32.5% damage. Rabies hits 33% more times so more damage and more CB in this case.
This is going to depend on your equipment and stats.

2. Maybe - have to try this out.

3. True. Rabies has higher AR at low levels! But at level 30 FR 310%AR Rabies 253%AR - not a huge difference. Admittedly I wouldn't max out Rabies just for ubers, and FR is a useful utility skill. If I wasn't pumping FR I think I would definitely use Rabies, or perhaps even Hunger which is even faster then switch to Rabies/FR at the end.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Hunger is an interesting option - a fast attack that will steal life and still apply CB in the early stages while you wait for Life Tap to kick in... I might try this out. Shame about the bear pre-reqs!

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Hey guys. I've got a WW druid that I did not originally build with Ubers in mind, however, I've gotten most of the equipment necessary, and did Izual successfully last night. Granted, he was harder than he should've been, and I know he's the easiest for a physical character. The minions were hard just because of all the Iron Maiden, I guess other than that it'd have been easy.

Anyhow, since this is the Ribcracker thread, you'll find my lack of RC alarming. If I can get one, I'll up it and socket it with something for sure.

Base stats:
Level 85 (this could go up easily)
Str - 215 (originally built this guy with hopes of equipping EBOTD Thunder Maul, and if I had one I might even consider using it)
Dex - base
Vitality - 240
Energy - base

Skill distribution - this is where I'm REALLY hurting, because I decided not to max Werewolf (again, no ubers in mind when I made this char). I thought only about attack speed and didn't think about AR which Werewolf helps with a lot.

Werewolf - level 9
Lycanth - maxed
Feral rage - base
Fury - maxed
Heart of Wolverine - maxed
Dire Wolf - maxed (for the 1 pt I put in Grizzly Bear)
points in various pre-reqs, including the first 2 vines

Things turn back a little better when we look at my gear:
Weapon: IK Maul amn/amn (this is the first thing I'm looking to replace, but at least it's fast, has high CB)
Weapon switch: Life tap wand, 97 charges of level 5. The shield is uhhh... Stormshield, doesn't matter though. I'm working on making a CTA for myself right now, and if I could just find the elusive 4os Monarch I'd be able to buff with CTA/spirit shield.
Armor: COH Great Hauberk (903 def)
Helm: Jalal's Mane pruby (if I'd known that I wanted to do ubers, I'd have upped it and put in an Um)
Gloves: Dracul's 10lifeleech
Belt: String of Ears 6lifeleech 15 DR
Boots: Gore Rider
Amulet: Metalgrid 445 AR but only 26 resists
Ring: Ravenfrost 16dex/235AR
Ring: Crafted. 3 manaleech, 2lifeleech, 5str, 10life, 26 lit resist, 21 fire resist. Could be replaced by a ring that gains LL, AR, but loses those good resists for just 20 cold resist.

As for charms, I've been getting as many AR charms and resist charms as I can, depending on what I need more (resists charms obviously for Uber Meph).

My attack rating is 6999 with just Werewolf turned on. Absolutely need to get that up higher.

So, give me suggestions as to which gear should most importantly be changed/upgraded first in order to increase my odds of success against ubers!

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

OH THE IRONY... :(

I just found a Ribcracker! But it's AS LOW AS POSSIBLE! 200%! I'm so sad.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

The CB is what makes Ribby such a great weapon. Toss it on for now until you can upgrade to a better one later.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Comparing it with other potential weapons (IK Maul, Windhammer) that also have CB, I think the deciding factor for me is hit recovery. Other weapons can get the speed, CB, etc but 50% hit recovery is awesome for a ww druid! Combined with the 30 from Jalal's Mane and a few charms and you can get insanely fast hit recovery rates.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

EBOTD Thunder Maul ? That's pretty slow Fury 9/6. A GPA gives better damage rate and longer range and much lower reqs.
You gotta love ribby - low str/dex/level reqs, great minimum damage, and nearly as much power as the most expensive weapons.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Oh, sorry, I wasn't talking about using it for Ubers. I'm just saying, I built this druid with Ogre/Thunder Mauls in mind and had no thought whatsoever about Ubers or low-str requirement weapons.
