Question about ctc (ravenclaw)

I've got a .09 RC. If I play an amazon, and I dump points into fire arrow, will that act as a synergy to the exploding arrows fired by the ravenclaw?

Re: Question about ctc (ravenclaw)

I dont see why not if resist shock works on dreamers? (never tried that though)

Re: Question about ctc (ravenclaw)

Yes, it works. The endgame damage still isn't anything to write home about, though (IIRC ~1k/hit. At 600 fpa or whatever slow breakpoint raven claw hits).

And, to anticipate your next question, the only other things that work are +%fire damage and -% fire res. There's no other ways to boost the exploding arrow damage. Fire damage (from holy fire, enchant, or equip/charms) should be carried in the splash, though.

Re: Question about ctc (ravenclaw)

I believe the synergy does boost the explosive arrows, yes. I haven't done the numbers to see what kind of damage a slvl30 EA with a full synergy would do, but I think it'd be rather impressive for investing a mere 21 skill points. It would certainly leave a lot of options open for other skills.

edit: and CG shows me the error of my ways. OK, so it's not impressive damage. Sue me. :D

Re: Question about ctc (ravenclaw)

I think the problem is that the other attributes on the bow are not very good, low ED, no IAS, no +skills, no leach (and essentially you would be a caster/mage - granted you could get this from other gear and also when upped to elite status the base damage is ok...but like CG said - it's not great)

Re: Question about ctc (ravenclaw)

If you use it on switch as your backup skill, it's decent for frying Gloams on lower /players settings. Otherwise, you'll find that the damage is very poor for Hell, particularly Act 4, as noted by the previous posters.
