I've brought a Hammerdin to lvl 80 and found some cool stuff on the way. At least I think it's cool, three TC3 in a single playthrough (not clearing areas at all) is good right? And a couple of Ist to boot (one with the sorc). Also my first 4 os Gothic Plate so far in D2R... And this after taking my blizz sorc to 90 as well.

So, saturday night, nothing planned, just doing some difficult sudoku (failing, for the most part) and watching more or less random and mindless stuff on youtube while having a few beers too many.... Got the urge to check out the new quick cast thing, and how I would like it. I liked how it applied to CtA, but for teleporting, I hated it immensely. However, I decided to keep doing the test run. Turned out to be a very good desicion:


This marries up pretty damn well with that 15% nightwings from before! Going to have to read up on cold sorcs and their appliances.

It depends. It works very well for cows, but losing out on teleport is a big deal. I've been a fan of the full set for a long time, so I have probably fallen into the "coolness trumps usefulness" trap. Used full set for pits in 1.10 when enigma was just a fantasy for most people, with great success. I imagine full set, with dweb torch and anni would be really good for clearing cows.

When being a vampire, the FCR, FHR and FBR breakpoits are awful, but wearing the belt, head and gloves is pretty good for a poison necro.

@ipsilantee controller isn't nearly as bad for blizzard as some people say IMO. With a little practice it's pretty intuitive.

One con is that you can't easily lay down a blizzard between you and a monster coming toward you (Andy comes to mind) -- it usually grabs on and targets that monster directly with the inviso-cursor.

One con is that you can't easily lay down a blizzard between you and a monster coming toward you (Andy comes to mind) -- it usually grabs on and targets that monster directly with the inviso-cursor.

Have you tried any other builds and found that the controller works really well, maybe even better than keyboard/mouse? I have an xbox controller, so maybe I should try it with my riftsin. She doesn't use any targeted attacks. Edit...akshully, Dragon Flight is targeted. I'll have to try it out...

I just have to experience playing while in bed at least once
Hm... I think I could try and make p1 pindle runs work with that.

The amount of S/U items I've yet to find is pretty huge so my Meph run times have gone up a bit on average (65 seconds) because i'm picking up so many S/U. I'd been running LK for so long I kinda forgot what boss drops look like. I love it though, it feels good to hit grailers left and right. I know that feeling won't last long though lol. I'll probably be gearing up my Javazon to run the pits after a couple more hours of Meph.

As for drops, I've been wanting gores for a while and Meph decided to drop them today.

@ipsilantee I run Pindle a lot with blizzard, even at /p8. Fire a couple of glacial spikes and then blizzard and it's over soon if Pindle's not CI. Now trying to get the invisible cursor over Pindle himself to see if he's CI is difficult.

To stay on topic also, here's an Oath with a semi-decent base I finally found a bit ago. After numerous cow levels mixed with AT runs today I've managed to find only one phase blade, and it was blue... so still no Grief!
