It is a constant source of amusement for me to come to these forums and read the endless complaints about the B.net brats on East and West. Asia 1 has virtually none of the problems reported here on a daily basis.
Asia rarely gets spam bots, the only reason to put a level restriction on is to... well... restrict the levels of players in the game.
While people do occassionally say "TP", I have never, ever, seen anyone spam "tptptptptptptptptptptptptptptptptp". Players are courteous enough to know that it takes time to reach the throne and are experienced enough to realise that the person will open a tp when it is safe to do so.
There is an accepted format for CS runs that almost everybody abides by in public games, and those that do not learn very quickly:
1. Runner gets drops. He/she is giving you massive amounts of experience, usually without asking, and he has a right to payment for services rendered. If the runner moves on to the next mob without picking an item, and is clearly abandoning it, then other party members can pick (be aware though that sometimes they move on out of necessity and can't pick up the drops straight away). If the runner drops an item, anybody can take it.
2. There are well known "safe zones" for low level characters to stand at. These are safe places that do not restrict exp gain in any way. Simply put they are, among several other places, across the lava pits at the seals. Another one is on either side of the pillar where someone can stand without fear of being fried by Diablo's spells. Low level characters are expected to stay in these safe zones until it is clearly safe to move on to the next. This also prevents anybody but the runner from hitting the seals.
3. Never override the host's curses, auras or warcries unless you know your own are of a higher level. In other words, if you are a level 50 Barb with maxed BO by all means use it, but if you are a lvl 50 sorc with a +1 BO CtA keep it on switch. If you are a Hammerdin and the host is one too, do not use Concentration, switch to a safety aura like Resist Fire or Prayer if you have it.
4. If the host leaves the party someone is breaking the rules. Leave the party and wait for him/her to reinvite you. If you are over level 70 you will be invited only if the host wants you. If you are over 85 there is almost no chance you will be allowed in the party unless you are soloing Baal or something. If you are over 85 and you enter the CS you WILL be hostiled.
There's probably something else, but I started replying to this thread about an hour ago and have been doing other things so can't remember what I was saying.
Sure, we have idiots and the other stuff on Asia but it is NOTHING like what you people on East and West whine about. There's no eBay junk, the dupes are few and far between and the worst spam you will ever get is someone that gets no response from asking to join the party a couple of times then repeats "party plz" a few times until they are invited.
