Alright, I've just taken half an hour to read through every post in this thing, and I've come up with a few opinions and such. I will now opine.
inu, I hope you appreciate the irony of coming to a D2 site to complain about SC losing. People will argue about this every day for like a week, and then everyone will realize that it really doesn't matter. The entire vote thing on GameSpy is for FUN; nothing more, nothing less. Taking it seriously is like punching someone for up-talking.
That aside, I'd like to think that SC players have a little more class on average than the odd militants who post in this thread. I mean, seriously, we D2 players keep our accusations within our own game, but taking it cross-genre? I mean, you have to draw the line somewhere.
So people accuse Flux of doing his job. Hey Flux, are you guilty? Do you feel sorry? Do you promise not to do it again for the next vote? I mean, it's not like we D2 fans want to know when and how we can support the game.
So what's my point? I have no idea. It got lost up there in the second paragraph somewhere. SC players, get over it; it's just an online vote with no real ramifications. Unite behind the Blizzard banner, and support D2 in its future fights!

Just curious. Did all the starcraft fans vote for Gore too? I mean it must be obvious that if the MAJORITY of people play starcraft that it MUST win. How else could D2 win unless of course all the starcraft fans were actually too busy playing the game instead of voting since it is sooooo much more fun than D2 they just couldnt drag their sorry bottoms out of the game to vote.

Ironic that blizzard banns over several hundred thousand people form starcraft and d2 combined and they both still end up in the lead. Funny.
Just curious. Did all the starcraft fans vote for Gore too? I mean it must be obvious that if the MAJORITY of people play starcraft that it MUST win. How else could D2 win unless of course all the starcraft fans were actually too busy playing the game instead of voting since it is sooooo much more fun than D2 they just couldnt drag their sorry bottoms out of the game to vote.

The problem I have with the outcome is that in my opinion StarCraft would have stood a better chance of winning the whole thing, and also against Half-Life (which D2 will go against if it beats Zelda and H-L beats Halo, and I think they both will indeed). 
I want Blizzard to win the whole thing, and if H-L beats D2... well, let's say I would have been almost certain of SC's victory, but D2 doesn't stand as good a chance. So this might have just cost Blizzard the victory of the whole tournament.
Then again, I could be wrong.

I guess you're right, though the outcome was largely determined by the fact that the fight was advertised on two large D2 sites. SC got there all by itself without advertisements (as far as I know?), but D2 will probably need the advertising again to make it. Then again, I'm sure it will have it.

Most of the people that voted in title fight polls were reffered to gamespy through some kind of advertisement on fan sites or through friends or let's say people who spammed url in b.net channels (gj guys!).

Flux needs to rename is column. Decahedron is a 10 sided polyhedron but already he has 16 top 10 lists and there may be more on the way.

LOL why do we do just about everything with this game? Bragging rights, of course. We trade for that Eth BoTD Zerker because we can put it on our pally and show people how much we own in Baal runs. We research and equip our characters to duel and win so we can say "i own u noob". There is, of course, the fun aspect, and that seems to be absent from this poll, but it's not. Just like the fun is mixed in with the bragging rights when obtaining items/dueling, people enjoy the fun of seeing D2 voted a better game than others.
So sue us.

Well I do remember a post on the official diablo forums over at thier site with some guy saying he was having fun voting multiple times and that he had never voted so much and kept telling people to delete cookies.
Uh....first thing I dont really get angered by this but there is a bit of distaste that Diablo has the players that have to cheat. I think it just represents our pubby games to much. By the way I voted diablo yay. :scared:

1.Most Diablo players are robots/sheep we do what our forums tell us or we follow what everyone else is doing, this is a general explanation for Cookie Cutter Builds. Our website told us to vote so we did.
2.I could only vote once, and it sounds like this vote hack took a lot of work. For the most part Diablo, players can only concentrate on anything onther than Diablo, for about 10 seconds. Again, reality says we did'nt do it.

4.Odds of a Diablo player, locking up the computer that long to do somehting other play Diablo....Wait is there anything other than Diablo?
