Diablo Won. If you care so much to spend all this time trying to find proof why SC should be the better game, you are wasting your time. Not only are you whining about a meaningless poll that affects nothing, but im willing to bet a lot that there were tons of bots going for BOTH games. If you look at the final brackets in each section, most got 8k-14k votes. The Diablo2-Sc-CS bracket got 21k votes. The 7k isnt explained, because there are obviously other fans sites of those games. I believe that even if there was a D2 bot (considering i have no computer knowledge, i havent understood a word anything people have said) there was a SC bot to go with it. There were just too many extra votes.

Blizz Hackers, apparently the site that spawned the whole scandal when one of their moderators (Comi) wrote a simple script (with AutoIt, yes the same proggy with wich most of pindlebots are written) that would click on d2 and then on "vote" button indefinetly. IT HAD NOT A SINGLE CODE LINE THAT WOULD ATTEMPT TO CHANGE USERS IP. I don't know about what "proofs" you're talking about Inu, but clearly you don't understand what really happened. It would have never went public (this whole pointless arguing madness on bunch of forums) if Comi wouldn't have decided to brag about his non-working bot. He made a thread on Blizz Hackers and hosted the bot for download. A then somebody took screenshots of that thread screaming that it's a 100% sure proof that bot added about 1000 votes (lol) to final title fight score. As i said before if bot would have worked d2 would have gotten at least 50k votes. I know it because Comi, me and a bunch of other blizz hackers members were botting all night. On average each of our bots made about 500 vote attempts over night which should have resulted in about 10000+ votes at least if it was working.

I think D2 will stomp Zelda, only to be narrowly beaten by Half-Life

Yeah HL is a worthy opponent indeed. If Blizzard games community will unite (sc fans will get over the whole last 3 days madness and will vote for d2) i think we will have very very equal match (49% to 51%). Lol i can only image what accusations there will be pulled if d2 manages to defeat HL (which it should).

Figured alot of those folks would vote if they new about it...so I bet betwen us alone..we got possible a 100 votes? Maybe more.:) Some whole channels I was in got a started up and went from posting trading to posting...WHATS THE VOTE ADDY..WHATS THE VOTE ADDY..WHATS THE VOTE ADDY...lol
 
I"m sorry, but D2 simply has a much bigger fanbase that are aware of gamespy, partly due to flux's post on the main website here. Thats the reason D2 won legitimately.

The reason the scripts seemed to be working was because of the thousands and thousands of D2 fans around the world who were voting.
 
This is the silliest thing I have yet to encounter at these forums (and I have been here a long long time over at the SPF). Your arguements lack plausability... the only thing you acctually accomplish is coming across like a poor loser. :thumbsup:
 
Heh, thats how I knew to vote. I can't visit this site every 12 hours (I try) to find out when these polls are taking place. I heard from one of you two spamming in the regular channels (East).
 
Funny thread. Not caring much myself, I guessed that gamespy probably would have restricted votes to only 1 per IP. Running with this assumption, I changed the IP about 10 or 15 times on my workstation while I was on hold at work. Yeah I was bored :) See you in hell Starcraft ;)

I voted for sc, damn shame it didnt win though, i think its better then d2, but then again, i always thought thinking was bad.

Just be glad d2 and sc didnt get beat/smoked by CS. How bad would we have felt? But then the d2 fanbase coulda got in on the conspiracy theory too.

If it was on a worldwide site sc woulda smoked them both. Koreans almost worship it, and still hold Sc tournaments. Include them and d2 is GGed. But they didnt.

By the way, i admire youre convictions (not the aura nOObs) inu, but trying to convince these people that there was cheating is basically like trying to knock down a brick wall with a pencil. It just dosent happen.

there is the proof posted that Diabolo-community cheated out SC.

XG3 mailed them about, but he got answer that a bot doesnt work and d2 won legitimately, but they don´t have a security measures to prevent dynamic ip voting.
He asked me to support him by not posting any gamspy news from now on.

I think since they cheated out BW-community they don´t deserve anything from us anymore and i would be with XG3.

It's a lazy excuse. This is probably how it goes: they didn't log singular votes to "save database space", o*nly logged the total. They though it was safe, but deleting the cookies bypassed the mechanism. They won't admit it and since they have a schedule for the votes, they preferred to shut down the case quietly instead of repeating the vote which would mess up their voting schedule up.

I'm 100% for the boycott.

Note that the last one STATES that he got AT LEAST 500 votes using the bot. Starcraft lost by less than 500 votes so you need to do SOMETHING...either give Starcraft the win based on this proof or have a recount.

You really need to do something. Starcraft deserves the win. It was winning throughout the entire day and all of a sudden Diablo II caught up in a matter of hours due to this cheat and invalidated the entire point of the contest. Please respond and let me know what it is GameSpy is planning to do.

We also killed Kenedy, knocked the nose off the sphinx and rigged the polls in Florida (man did THAT backfire)

I also have it on excellent authority that we next plan to hijack this thread and use it as a launching pad to TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!!!!!!!

Just for everyone that kept on saying that it was possible to cheat i would like to refer you to the 2nd post in this thread; specifically to this part:

So even with dynamic ip the script wouldn´t work unless it also took the time to generate multiple GameSpy ID´s.
