Come to think about it, I don't think I've managed to go a month in RL with out baking or cooking from scratch.... hmm, well maybe when we were moving over to NV and I didn't have most of my pans yet. No, wait, I made goltar's birthday cake in a cheap pan I grabed at the store.

Even though I'm a US citizen, I think it's great that other countries are strongly challenging us for the lead in overall medals.
I feel like it's unfair sometimes because we can devote massive amounts of resources to win, while many other countries don't have the population base, nor the resources to train athletes to the same level that we can. I think that it detracts from the spirit of Olympic competition.
So I'll drink with Ana to the Dutch medalists!

can do sidhe-ie! what's you favorite? i'll whip you up a batch.
as for the from scratch meal, they're often cheaper so I'll make a large batch of something easliy reheated (like a stew or some pasta sauce base) and do stuff with it all week. Usually I do this on Tues. but when I was working FT I couldn't do that nearly as often.
edit: Actully, I kinda like casseroles and such, I mean a nice tutti de mare is fun to make and great for company, but it's not cheap. and even homemade fried chicken is more effort than it's worth unless its from soemthign special

raisans... I've got oatmeal cookies, but the only thing with rum other than the chocolates would be this chocolate cake I made and doused with rum before icing it.
