Time: Monday Nights from 9-11 EST, starting September 29th* , 2008

This ESU is for the fun builds, but the aim is balanced play (No Summon necros). We'll aim for one of each character class and I'll pick a support build that should help keep us alive. No one needs to tag their characters with anything special, but a character name related to the theme might boost morale.


Rules:

1. No twinking (i.e. no outside items or help). The group should be closed and self-sufficient. One mule account will be kept as a team storage for things like runes and gems to cube.

2. If you aren't available 100% of Monday nights, please do not sign up! This doesn't mean you can't miss a week or two (sh*t happens), just don't sign up knowing that you spend every second Monday hosting a Bingo night or practicing ritual self-mutilation.

3. If you can't make it for one week, try your best to get caught up on your own or with other group members for the next week. Keep it in the family.

4. Any points of contention, or other group matters, will be henceforth settled with a vote. Just ask a yes/no question and the group can answer. Simple majority (5 votes) is required regardless of how many people are actually present at the time (e.g. Let's do a couple of countess runs!).

As always, I'll take last pick. Sign up fast! Spots are incredibly limited!

*** Team selection is rigged in favor of ESU/CTA and Banana reserves who showed up but didn't get to play, friends, veterans, and those who've contributed significant time/knowledge to the forums. ***

Please DO NOT sign up if you:
- can't commit to the entire session . Last run thru took about 6 months worth of Mondays.
- have an unstable internet connection
- lack maturity and a good attitude
- are unfamiliar with teamwork and sharing
- are inexperienced with hardcore untwinked play
- lack dedication, because this is all or nothing, baby

Here's the deal: I'm out of town on the 29th of Septmeber and the 20th of October on sales trips (plus at least another week in November). I can be around for most other Mondays. So, as I'm not able to adhere to my own rules, you can put me down as a Replacement/Extra.

I'm new, and I know nobody around here knows me (except I did play a little bit with HP_Sauce last night on my newly deceased necro) but this sounds like a really cool thing and if you guys are short on people I would like to be a part of it.

1. I can commit to an entire season. Realistically I may have to miss a night every 6 or 7 weeks or so, but that's only if something weird comes up like a vacation or a random Monday bar night (because there's nothing like a hangover to make going to work on Tuesday's a blast).

2. My internet is stable (occasionally it slows down but never for long, nothing gamebreaking).

3. I am an extremely good-natured dude. I know how to play well with others. I was taught to share as a kid. I am motivated to play well and have fun/be serious as the situation dictates. I'm also super modest.

5. Dedication is my middle name. Or maybe its Chin. Who knows.

The one crappy thing about me is I'm not an experienced hardcore player. I do however have a decent amount of softcore experience... and I really think this would be a great opportunity to not only meet some good people but to really learn from them. Consider me the eager novice. The grasshopper to your sensei.

So yeah, given my limited experience in HC I'll understand if you want someone else. Either way, hit me up sometime for a game for fun, or catch me in the banana channel! Account: Newborn99

Yeah it's cookie-cutter, but it's all I can come with ATM. But if Zinc wants to blind them, I want to plug them with arrows.:alright: I'm still on the fence though, maybe a shared character?

I'm also new around here tho I've met a few people in the banana channel, but this looks like a lot of fun and I like meeting new people. I've only played on Useast for about a month, but I've played for 6 years on and off. I'm pretty relaxed and like to share. I'm willing to commit for the whole season. I was thinking about either a tank sorc or a MA sin, but i don't really mind I'll play anything.

Just to clarify, is there a theme to keep in mind when naming my character or do I pretty much have free reign?

Free reign indeed. Something with ESU in it may be a perk, but ... I'm putting an esu tag on whatever I end up making.

As far as your druid goes , I'm going to strongly recommend something else. Your going to be severely disappointed in a untwinked rabies and it tends to drop games if massive packs become poisoned. If your hearts set on it go for it.

Leap attack , Ive got a high level one of these right now and got there by questing and using a headstriker for most of the journey. Your in for a challenge for sure. The maxed leap kb is godly! :alright:



So are we ready to roll out as a group Monday assuming the last couple spots get filled over the weekend?
Would you folks prefer to bump it to the next monday?

If it's cool if I join up with you guys I think I'd go with the tank sorc, but if that's too uh unrealistic let me know and I can change. Also I'm ready to roll on Monday.

Master Zap, thanks for taking the time to dig up those builds. I really like the look of come back zinc's HC Fire Claw Bear... that was actually along the lines of my first instinct for a hardcore druid build (bear = life!) but to have a step by step guide is awesome.

I'm down to start on Monday night, but if we can't field a full squad by then...

Also, how are we going to format the tag? HotpawsESU? ESU_Hotpaws? ESUHotpaws?

I'd love to play a paladin of some sort. Throwsmiter maybe? Holy Shock + Fanaticism, Throwing and Smite. I think that build is known as a dragoon, actually, at least in 1.09.

I haven't spent much time with Druids or Assassins as you can see. I don't have much interest in doing anything Assassiny.

Some builds that I've wanted to make but never got around to:

Melee Necro
Summoner Druid
Mage Summoning Necro / Lower resist

I don't really want to make the Melee Necro in an untwinked / group setting, so I'm leaning towards the Summoner Druid... but we've already got a druid. The Lower Resist Necro could be useful in a party setting, but only if we have folks doing elemental damage, so I'm open to suggestions. Anyone have any ideas? I'm not much of a Meleer though.

I also considered a pure Hydra sorc. She would be useless through norm except for static of course... and then no help against FIs in hell.

Edit: I guess the Hydra sorc would have FireBall in norm, since it's a synergy.

Hp, I think you'd really enjoy the druid summoner. I just started one recently and he's about to start act 3. Wolves are a lot of fun and pretty soon I'll have shock wave. :)

I think I'll switch and play a MA or a variation of a trapsin/MA sin, so if someone wants they can take the sorc spot:thumbsup:.

hey, just reading this for the first time and i would love to jump in. looks like theres a spot or two left. i can definitely commit to the whole season as well, just have no idea what to build. someone give me an idea! btw, this is knifemare. on bnet.

1. GOV - MA Sin (how about 4 kicks Dtalon, 20 tiger strike, 20 dtail , 20 claws of thunder) ( or make a phnx striker. Playing as a Trapper for something like this is like pressing the easy button )

The spread looks pretty good. Missing a sorc but we've enough elements in the group.
Full group so tonight it starts.

one other requirement is you must document and post followup's of your characters progress so we've a "journal" of the adventures.

Hideous and Gov , I had a heck of a time deciding who gets in. Your both new posters and banana people with comparable post counts and join dates. The only fair way I could decide here was first come first serve.


Knifemare erm Hideous, Since Zinc isnt able to make this session he's going to by default need to level up to catch up for next week, so Feel free to join us today and if for whatever reason someone drops (these things happen sometimes) then your spot is held and character leveled.


Please show up about 5-10mins early in Op xbananax. for each session. Promptness counts. I'd like to start playing at 9pm not straggling in the channel late. If you cant make it, do your best to pm or post one of us so we know your not coming (and dont wait around for you)
