Diablo 2 1.13 PTR is UP

Re: 1.13 PTR is UP

so...what's the "new event"?

did they add more uber bosses?

Re: 1.13 PTR is UP

The answer lies
within Diablo's Bosses, which span across the world from the Den of Evil
to the Throne of Destruction...

Seems it shouldn't be too hard to find out, given the am ount of super-uniques in the game, and the additional orange text for rare-er items.

Re: 1.13 PTR is UP

I like the look of those changes... nerf the Hammers & Light Sorc's, increase HR drop rates, fix the Torches and Uber leveling... with that list I could care less that there's no increased stash size.

What do you guys think about the changes to Immolation Arrow? Do you think it'll be a viable skill now?

Re: 1.13 PTR is UP

"Fixed an item dupe bug."

praise Jesus holy name if its true.

And respec; miracle from on high, RESPEC!

Why does blizz have to release it now that I have to write my thesis >_<

Re: 1.13 PTR is UP

This patch has given Noodle an angry. Yet another slap in the face of the single player community. Noodle wishes to make Blizzard weep, and to hear their wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Re: 1.13 PTR is UP

I gotta say it....this is what took since April to make? Unless the new event is a whole new act's worth of content, it seems like most of what they intended to include has been tossed by the wayside, not just the stash changes we already heard about...

No more Uber leveling, which just means we'll see more Baal/CS runs instead I think. And a lot more low lev grushed chars in public Hell CS games, wish they had fixed the grush bug. Though, with respec, you can play through regularly a lot easier with a Norm/NM spec

Normal gloams not changed? They'll remain the only monster you need to specifically plan for, apparently...

No more IM! Melee classes, rejoice! ACT 2 MERCS REJOICE! My sorcs can finally run the CS without costing 450,000 g.!

I'm glad to see a lot of improvments though! General bug fixes, always a hit. No more one-size-fits-all hammerdins (though I think most will just switch to an Infy sorc since they're still almost OSFA). Better HR drop rates, we'll see if its enough. We'll see how long it takes to figure out a new dupe method, too...

I dont think Immo Arrow is going to be a viable skill, though, since they didnt change the timer, and that's the major problem with the skill: non-spammability, especially when the other options are FA and MS. They need to reduce/remove the timer, and/or tie the elemental damage to the phys damage a la Vengeance so you can use it as a PI killer in a WF/Faith bowzon build.

Druid, barb, assa...dont see the changes making or breaking any existing builds.

Sorcs: why nerf LM? Firewall branch synergies were a waste of time, I dont see anyone using since FW's big thing was you dont need to stick points in synergies, and Blaze and Inferno are not workable skills. Hydra, it'll depend how strategically practical it is with the faster projectiles...and does this affect the Council's Hydras too? Major suckage if they're able to spam 4 hydras each with increased damage

Necs....BG change wont affect its uselessness compared to CG. PN change is nice but PN build was viable already. And, CE, seriously? Yeah, because CE really needed a boost, it was way underpowered....

And no new RWs? No new uniques? No new crafting recipes? Nothing to create new builds around?

Re: 1.13 PTR is UP

just wondering... The patch notes paragraph:

A new Mystery has been revealed!

- Players of Hell Difficulty Realm games are hereby warned once again,
that a series of new and challenging tests await you! The answer lies
within Diablo's Bosses, which span across the world from the Den of Evil
to the Throne of Destruction...

looks pretty similar, actually exactly the same, as this:

A new Mystery has been revealed!

that a series of new and challenging tests await you! The answer lies
within Diablo's Bosses, which span across the world from the Den of Evil
to the Throne of Destruction...

patch 1.11 notes...
did they just re-use the wording, or forget to take it out..?

Re: 1.13 PTR is UP

Wow, way to ignore the hc community and neglect to fix tppk. Good job Blizz!

The other stuff looks pretty good, just sad they didn't fix tppk =((

Re: 1.13 PTR is UP

My first reaction after reading the patch notes:
No TPPK fix ... HC public gaming is still dead
No UberDiablo spawn change ... SoJ duping will continue...
Removed IM ... I don't like this at all, the game becomes too easy.
No additional 'other-than-Baaling' possibilities to get experience for lv90+ chars...
The other changes are 'nice', nothing more.

I am quite disappointed right now, lets try out the PTR...

Re: 1.13 PTR is UP

update sorta:

Did normal alone at lvl 99
did nightmare with someone to get through it (it was difficult with no items lol)

THIS IS THE INTERESTING PART:
joined a hell rush game, we killed andy and Andy dropped an orange rune with a name i didnt even get to see it was picked up so fast (full game). I tried killing andy alone and did not get this rune.

speculation: these runes drop like keys (it was NOT a normal high, med or low rune). Get one from each of the bosses, cube and see what happens. Just a guess, but that is my interpretation

Re: 1.13 PTR is UP

Some of the skill changes are pretty random (why the tiny shadow master change?) and especially the choice of which skills deserved changes. Necromancers definitely benefit the most here but I hardly see everyone making magezons and werebears.

Boo, respec :S

Boo, every single serious threat to HC players removed - except TPPK.

Re: 1.13 PTR is UP

I like this patch. It seems like melee builds are on more even ground now that Oblivion Knights can not cast Iron Maiden. Also, the increase drop rate of high runes is purely awesome--Blizzard is finally getting the right idea. I do find the CE buff quite confusing since CE was already insanely arse-kicking, but as a skelemancer, I am not complaining!

However, the lack of a long and flat cast rate on Teleport is still bothersome. There will continue to be a dominance of Enigma-toting Hammerdins (provided that they can still get the dupes). Granted, they will not be able to annihilate everything in the game now, but on the most part, they will still be lame and overpowered against act bosses and every other non-immune monster.

For the same reason as the Hammerdin's, Sorceresses will continue to be the bread-and-butter choice for MF boss running, but perhaps that is not a bad thing--should MF boss running be the Sorceress's primary role in D2? In any case, it seems like Fire Sorceresses got buffed and Lightening Sorceresses got nerfed which is fine to me.

Also, no skill bug fixes were listed. Does this mean that some skills are still functioning crappily or being nigh to useless? I hope that the changes in this patch release note are not the only changes.

Also, I think more Uber quests and stuff are largely not needed. D2 does not need more end-game quests that give overpowered items--all of it renders character development as a joke.

Re: 1.13 PTR is UP

I had abit of time so I started to go through the new patch file that was downloaded, and here's a few things I have found so far. I'll spoiler them so the choice is up to you if you want to see them

New misc items after Meph's brain/Diablo horn/etc:

Token of Absolution - rarity 999, cost 99999, code: toa
Twisted Essence of Suffering - Rarity 1, cost 10000, code: tes
Charged Essense of Hatred - Rarity 1, cost 10000, code: ceh
Burning Essence of Terror - Rarity 1, cost 10000, code: bet
Festering Essence of Destruction - Rarity 1, cost 10000, code: fed

I'll try to find out who drops them.

Edit:
Andariel Hell and Duriel Hell drops Twisted Essence of Suffering
Mephisto Hell drops Charged Essense of Hatred
Diablo Hell drops Burning Essence of Terror
Ball Hell drops Festering Essence of Destruction

Edit2: Duriel on Hell can also drop an essence of suffering. Also, toaken of Absolution is a quest item for something

Cube recipe:

Token of Absolution - 4 inputs: all of the above, results in Token of Absolution

Edit: By the way, the lower the rarity, the harder it is to find it
