Don't you just cast enchant from the limb & put it away for 10 minutes? I can't remember the last time I stayed out of town for more than 10 minutes while doing a high level "run".

Also my weapon changes color when enchanted, so I know the spell is still active of not.
Haven't had a chance to use it again since the (opps)... thats why I ask.

Again one of MY favorite weapons was a Gimmershred  That w/ enchant was amazing... cold, lit, fire... then add venom & enchant.

Currently using a Moonfall till I get to Gimmershred again. Still haven't come across a Stormlash. But if I do... I Will give it a go.

You will hear people say : Poison Facet... due to Venom and so on. But consinder this ...
Poison Charms aren't worth having so with an inventory of Psn Charms you'll have 1 Facet...
I urge you strongly to choose a Lightning Facet... my reasons are :
-Stormlash has high Lightning Elemental Damage
-Stormlash and Cresent Moon has Static and is more effective with a Light Facet.
-Inventory of Lighting Charms is 'way' better than Psn charms

These are jsut three of my many reasons, but in my book these three are all that is needed.

Thanks for chiming in Ritslev, I had a feeling you would opt for the 5/5 lightning facet, that's why I waited....now I just need to find some more lightning charms!

need some help here...

I just reached level 60 and got into the throne room in the worldkeep. I am just getting clobbered. I play on useast non ladder. My equip is as follows,

hellplague
swordback hold
spirit shroud (jsut changed this to a rare 425 def plate)
coif of glory helm
string of ears
35% MF ammy

My Death sentry is at 17, Fade is around 10, venom is around 14 and shadow master is around 5. I gave up on my Act II HF merc, all he does is die. I have charms that total +250 to AR +60 Lightning +15 fire damage +6 cold damage IIRC. Any suggestions??? It has been fun up to now. The open wounds has been great!

My suggestion is to trade for the items Ritslev suggested. I know, at least for me, it was extremely easy to trade for the proper gear on ladder (not so sure about non-ladder as I do not play there). This character is highly dependent on the correct item set-up. Not sure if you can make it on non-ladder, but get Duress, it was a huge savior as the Rattlecage (even after being upped), isn't a very high defense armor. I reversed my point distributions from what you did and maxed my shadow, venom, and fade, first, mostly because you really need a tank for this build. Don't give up on your merc, you really need him in hell. You could get rushed to 75 and then go back and level your merc, that's what I always end up doing. At lvl 78, nm is now a joke for my sin. I only use sentries in hell, I didn't even need them until then. Hope this helps.

Mostly what he said... you can subsitute some of the items. Hellplague is good but will not have enogh damage at higher lvls. I used one & gave it up for hexfire right now. Rattle cage & at least goblin toes would help quite a bit.
more fade is also needed here to keep you going.
If the amy is just MF, you gonna need a better one to hang in there. The HF merc will work if you give him better gear... I had one at lvl 85 before.

you definitely need crushing blow and some sort of decent weapon. are you playin nm worldkeep or hell? cuz in hell you arnt gonna cut it at lvl 60.

wuts the rune combo for crescent moon? whatever it is, i think the only moderately expensive thing there is UM. just stick it in a zerker axe if you have the str, or a cryptic sword. if you have high str, stick it in a better sword.

even a 6 socket phase blade loaded with perf ruby/saph/topaz would be ok. hellplague is... pretty much useless. the poison on it will be reduced by ALOT.

duress in a dusk shroud is great, over 1k def, crushing blow, resists, etc.

the key with this build is crushing blow. get as much as possible. and get AR. then you will dominate

Another thing is ITD (ignore traget defence) My hexfire helps alot with that. The hydra on it is fun but doesn't do enough damage & is expensive to repair... but other wise till I can use my Gimmershred

That is a good idea.. Franky mentioned it in an earlier thread and I agreed with him then and I do with you now. It is a good route to play. Personally I choose though to leave the Blast at 1.. and pump my Blade Fury instead.

..cut....

Heh 200's... Well I'd suggest instead, if yo'ure rich, putting on an Enigma Armor. Just to see how things turn out befor investing the points.

In all accounts, let me know how it turns out.

Hi SonOfRa and other contributors to this thread

I though I would document, for you guys, my Fury Assasin because I am so satisfied and proud of how she has turned out - thanks to the inspiration I received from this great thread.

She is in some ways a significant variant on the build mainly because of the items I had in mind for her (that I already had) and because I also wanted to try out the Fire traps instead of the stock lightning ones.

Blade fury Damage with Eth Messerschmidts Reaver Champion Axe - 812-2242 (at clvl 85) (AR 1530, 4054 with merc)

As you can see from the items that use I like the chance to cast items (chance to case lower resist, Iron Maiden, poison Nova, Decrepify) and the Merc has the Hit causes monster to flee.

I have a Cranium Basher maul (75% crushing blow) that I want to try out when she gets to level 87 I have to decide whether to pump 20 more into strength first. I am happy with the amount of life that she has.

I know she doesnt have the hi crushing blow but I am still happy with her as she holds her own in big Baal run games and was also able to do a solo Hell Baal run (A test I like to be able to pass with all of my characters)

I would appreciate any tweeks to her that you might be able to suggest when it comes to future skill/stat point allocation.

Thanks again for the guide as I have had immense fun with her.

Best of luck to everyone for your FurySins.

Gezzap

Well...

I understand the gear has much to do with the makeup of this character. I guess I have just been unlucky finding someone to trade. I tried the throne room again and had better luck. Last time there were two boss groups at the bottom of the stairs. I eventually killed most of the minions, i let the last group follow me to the stairs, hit burst of speed, and got back to baal. I then got to Baal and eventually killed him. It took a while, but I was able to do it without dying, just MANY trips to town for mana/health. I ran outta gold and had to sell most of my xtra equiment and gems though. He dropped 3 uniques, but they were not that good. An armor with OW, magefist, and a spear. Oh well. Maybe I will find a good trade over the holiday.

I'm absolutely loving this build. I'm cruising through hell no problems with her. I breezed through NM using only the Heart Carver unique Rondel, with ITD. Not that high of damage, but it worked just fine. Now that I'm in Hell, I've switched to using Gimmershred with Demon Limb on switch.

My gear is as follows:

Helm:
Guillaume's Face

Ammy:
(Magic) Chromatic Amulet of Memory: +58 to mana, All Resists +27
I do have Highlord's Wrath, but I am really loving this magic ammy's resists. Using this ammy, I have FULL resists in hell with Fade.

Weapon 1:
Gimmershred, doing 806-1986 damage with Venom

Weapon 2:
Demon Limb, used to boost AR. With Enchant, AR is pushing 4000+

Armor:
Duress (runeword) Wyrmhide, Def: 1309, with 19% enhanced Damage

Shield:
Moser's Blessed Circle, socketed with 2 pdiamonds, 62% chance to block, def: 170, all resists +63

Gloves:
(Crafted) Soul Finger Vampirebone Gloves: +1 to Martial Arts (oh well), 1% life leech (lol), 10% Crushing Blow (now THAT's what I'm talking about), +13 to life, poison resist +17, 10% better chance of getting magic items

Ring 1:
Raven Frost

Ring 2:
(rare) Wraith Turn Ring, +84 AR, 7% life stolen, +58 to mana, +13 max stamina

Belt:
Gloom's Trap (for mana leech and mana regen)

Boots:
Gore Riders

-----------------

Total Crushing Blow (I know it doesn't necessarily stack like this):
+35% from helm
+15% from armor
+15% from boots
+10% from gloves

Other bonus stats:
15% Deadly Strike from armor
15% Deadly Strike from boots
33% Open Wounds from armor
10% Open Wounds from boots

I have no trouble taking enemies down. Nothing is immune to me, I love it. I just cruised through the Pit in Act I no problemo.

The only drawback I've found to this build with this gear is the RIDICULOUSLY high cost of repairing Duress. It's approximately 80,000 per durability point. Meaning, if it's at 24 of 27 Durability, it's going to cost you over 240,000 gold to repair it. If it's and at 15 Durability, that's 1,000,000 gold to repair. 3 durability, that's 2 million gold.

But, that's a small price to pay for all those gawdy stats you get from it.

So I'm going to be collecting Ort runes for that armor, LOL.

Anyway, I've got Stormlash waiting in the wings when I hit level 82, and I may make a Crescent Moon, if I can find a good sword.

I LOVE this build. LOVE it. Bosses is when this build really excels. I love being in a 5+ person game in hell, watching everyone pound away at a boss, doing tiny bits of damage, and then I just start tossing stars, and the health starts falling off FAST.

Love it.

Thanks for the guide.

Shadow warrior backup

My hardcore, level 39, Furysin is going as well as expected. I decided to go with Shadow Warrior (now at 11) and have been pleasantly suprised at its effectiveness after I put a point into Fists of Fire.

Is it worth putting points in other martial skills? Are the dragon skills viable or do they require too much babysitting to be effective AND simple?

The Damage of the Furysin

Greetings All.

I've created this build and now seen more and more read/post about it. That makes me very pleased, and it makes the work I put into it worth it. On that note...

I would like something from you all.

Could those hwom have created the Furysin please post :

1 : Damage. With and without Enchant/Venom (Listed with Blade Fury Skill, Also please note which weapon so I cna get a general idea.)
2 : Resistances in Hell.
3 : Open Wounds, Critical and Deadly Strike, Crushing Blow
4 : Level of Fury Sin.
5 : Merc used.
6 : Gear used.

Thanks.. it will help me map out a ver 1.2 update, and maybe come with some new gear ideas .. which so far is in testing and which has surprised me a little as to how effective it can be :) Yes there are a few tricks in the bag which in version 1.2 will make you smile even more people :)

So once I have some (hopefully a lot) of replies I'll start on version 1.2

SonOfRa - Europe Server.. always open for a /msg.

Ugh I wish I was wealthier, but here goes. I also play alone a lot so static shock isn't as important on normal monsters.

1. 516-1797 (835-2131 with venom) Hoping to get a 2500 blade. I use Gimmershred

2. 75/55/54/44

3.

10% Open wounds - 266 dmg per sec ~ extra 60 dmg per blade. Not bad. I should get more of this :)

30% Deadly Strike - With gimmershed I only do approximately 530 physical damage so deadly strike isn't as great. I considered getting an Earthshifter for the immensive physical damage (does the 3/8 penalty really exist? I think I tested it and it doesn't). If I can get a hold of an Earthshifter (33% CB as well!) I should definately get Highlords.

50% Crushing Blow - Seems to kill bosses quickly enough. Andariel went down easier than Britney Spears. Instead of Duress for the extra 15% CB I considered getting a 4 sock plate of the whale with facets. For bosses, I'll switch to Earthshifter for the extra 33%.

4. She's level 75 in Act 2. I don't rush so its taking me a while to level. Blade Fury is level 1. After I finish fade off I'll put as many points into it as possible. A level 15 DS seems to have sufficient range. However although I was considered putting points into Lightning Sentry, I realized it was a bad idea. The tactic of course is to take down 1 mob asap, then corpse explode (works very well in 1 player game) By the time someone were to lay out all 5 LS traps, they could have killed the damn thing with Blade Fury already heh.

5. Blessed Aim Merc - Since I'm not too wealthy, his gear sucks. Through experience however, I've learned how to keep him alive more efficiently :)
Shift + 2 = Full Juvie for him. He rarely dies now for as long as I have a supply of Juvies. Without him though, I'm screwed.

6. Gear:

Helm: Guillame's Face

Amulet: Crap I don't even remember. I hope to get a metalgrid (450 AR, 25-35 all resists).

Ring1: Ravenfrost (yay!)

Ring2: Some rare ring with manaleech, hoping for another Ravenfrost, wasn't too impressed with Carrionwind.

Weapon: Gimmershred

Shield: Tiamats with PDiamond (you Um'ers can take that extra 3 resists and shove it =P)

Gloves: Utter crap. Hoping for soul drainers to leech and keep my merc alive through weakening.

Boots: Gore Riders

Armor: Blade Hades ( needs changing ) Since my build is so heavy on elemental damage, I considered getting a 4 socketed plate for facets rather than Duress.

4 Facets amount to about 3-222 extra Lightning damage and -20 to enemy light resist. Is that better than Duress in a 1 player game? I do not worry about resistance since Metalgrid should provide plenty.

The most appealing thing about Duress is the ~97 (130) cold damage. Because I play alone, monsters don't have that much health and therefore crushing blow does not have a huge impact on normal monsters. For bosses however, I'll switch for Earth shifter (whenever I get it) for crushing blow.

The other reason why I considered using Earth Shifter was because of the resistences hell monsters have. Almost every mob is immune to something which really hurts Gimmershred. However, the physical hell resistance was removed I believe and physical damage should be more effective, especially with DS. I'll let you know when I get in my high 80's with an Earthshifter :)

Just tested again- I'm almost positive that 3/8 2-hand penalty doesn't exist.
I bought a 30 max damage 2 hander and a 29 max damage 1 hander from Act1. Their damage was very very similar. The 2 hander was a little over.

No problems SonOfRa

To summarise some details from my post above:
1 : Damage. as quoted - and that is without enchant/venom
Blade fury Damage with Eth Baranas Star - 612-1249 (AR 2295 , 4819 with Merc)
Blade fury Damage with Eth Messerschmidts Reaver Champion Axe - 812-2242 (at clvl 85) (AR 1530, 4054 with merc)
2 : Resistances in Hell.
Hell Resists after fade: Weapon1 75/75/68/75 // Weapon2 75/50/68/75
3 : Open Wounds, Critical and Deadly Strike, Crushing Blow - only that which goreriders provides
4 : Level of Fury Sin. 85
5 : Merc used. - Blessed Aim
6 : Gear used. - Please see my post a few posts above yours

My FurySin is now level 83, using Stormlash. I really haven't noticed that much of an increase in damage over the Gimmershred, although I do notice a whole lot of Twisters going off!

I may not be watching closely enough, but the static doesn't seem to go off with nearly the same frequency as Twister. I realize it has a lower % chance to cast, but I'd say for every 10 twisters I see, I get 1 static cast, which is way off?

If what I read above is true about the 2-handed damage bit not existing, I may switch weapons.

As of now, I've defeated Hell with the FurySin (I didn't solo it, I was with another sorc, but I'm confident I *could* have solo'd it). As there's nothing that's immune to me, there's nothing I can't defeat, given enough time. Some bosses that are immune to physical and lightning are a royal pain, but they go down eventually.

The reason I started this build was because I *hated* those damn archers while doing Pit runs. They killed me *all* the time when I was a pure lightning trapper. No more. I can smoke them quickly, and never worry about getting killed.

My only issue is that although I can kill anything, I can't kill enemies *super fast*. I realize that that's not the intent of this build, so it's not anything I wasn't expecting. But if I'm in an 8-player game, I am sitting there focusing on one or two monsters, killing them fairly repidly, while other uber-powered chars are downing entire groups ridiculously fast. It's a trade-off, I realize... if I were to build a *pure* cold sorc, yes, I could probably demolish anything that wasn't immune to cold in no time... but I couldn't do anything about those things which are immune to cold.

I think my only other issue with the FurySin is there is no advantage to leveling her now. I've maxed fade, venom, shadow master, and am working on death sentry and CoS. But leveling up will never increase my damage output now, so there's not much incentive to leveling her. The only thing that will increase my damage is finding a weapon that's more effective than Stormlash (is that even possible? I am currently trying to find a 3 socket ethereal Cryptic/Mythical sword for Crescent Moon, but they're hard to come by, plus I don't even know if that would help).

Is there hope out there to increase my damage? I'm not at home right now, so I'm doing a guestimation here, but my damage is somewhere around the following:

WITH Enchant + Venom:
~800 - 1900 damage

I'm not sure what the damage is without these two.

I suppose I could pick up lightning damage charms, or something, but I'm just wondering if there's another way.

For the record, I don't have on any gear with +skills. I *do* have a +3 Shadow Disciplines ammy, but I'd lose some resists, then, which I don't want to do right now. Plus I don't feel like 3 more levels of Venom Damage would really do all that much.

So is there a solution to getting more damage?

I'm very pleased that I can kill *everything*, now I'm just looking for a way to kill it all *faster* :D

EDIT:

Oh, one other thing: I swapped my gloves for Laying Of Hands - the 350% damage against Demons is *great* for certain areas of the game, namely the pit, and River of Flame. Good to have when you're going into an area loaded with demons.

You're right we don't kill super fast.. and there will never be a situation where you will be able to rival a lightning sorc or a cold sorc. A lightning trapper or a hammerdin for that matter. The way the game is put together around Blade Fury that is simply never possible. Sorry if that disappoints you.

I'm in the 2800's ATM... so there is a way to increase your damage output. I don't though know your setup of gear and so on. I do though urge you to invest heavily in charms if you haven't already done so. I mean naked without items I still do 1200 damage.

I thought the same initially when I reached level 87. At level 89 though I'm quite pleased with the 2 points in Blade Fury. Not a lot of damage.. in fact ridicilously low. But to me who want to break the 3 k barrier it's enough.
(I break 4k easily with a BotD weapon but I loose my main benefit, Static. So I may be able to kill one monster faster, but the group takes too much time.)

You also mention Stormlash vs Gimmershred. Your experience with Stormlashes lack of casting static has also been mine. I found though that from time to time re-equipping it, or switching weaopns for a sec or two helps. It's not though something I enjoy nor find as a solution, but if it works.. try it. About the damage though. The main reason is crushing blow and static. Those are the 2 main reasons for Stormlash over Gimmershred. You do though have to remember that Static is cast from you.. not the monster you hit. So you have to be within 2/3 screen length to the monsters. Better yet if you're skilled enough to be within 1/3 length. That might also be your problem. In either case. Stormlash has benefits Gimmershred can't match. While it looks better on paper, it's not.

I am working on version 1.2 but you won't find anything in there hugely revolutionary .. I do though think you can do better on your damage...

I hope this helps
SonOfRa

Yeah, I've decided to start searching for charms that give me some elemental damage, and perhaps I'll pump more points into blade fury just for the few additional damage points.

I did figure out that bit about Static being cast from me as opposed to the target, so that has helped some. It still just seems weird that there are *constant* twisters going off, and very rarely do I hear the static noise, or see the shock on the pack. But I do see it every now and then.

I am also going to try tossing on my Highlord's wrath, and maybe let my resists slip a little bit. Maybe the Deadly Strike will help a bit with damage, too.

Best ED weapon?

I am making Dragon Claw sin:
Dragon Claw - max
Venom - max
SM - max
Claw Mastery - 15-20
etc...
That's build will have a problem with Poison + PI monsters in hell and also with fare enchanted bosses.
That is the reason for me to choose Blade Fury for secondary skill for that kind of monsters.
I plain to use Tiamat's Rebuke shield, but I have a problems for weapon choice. I thinking for Baranar's Star or Firelizard's Talons. If I choose Baranar - i will loose all bonuses from CM, but for Firelizard i will have problems with fire enchated bosses (they as usual are immune to fire), but in that case weapons ED will be at help.
Is there a any other choices about weapon against Poison + PI and fire enchanted?
Any advices are welcome :)

Souls and the FurySin

Black Souls...

Don't we all hate them? Well while they do go down, they go down slow. Or so I've always thought. I was never happy with how I killed them with this build.. till I byu accident forgot to switch weapons.

I was in the throne room surrounded by a ton of Souls and only my shadow and myself were staying alive in a group of 6. It was hell, since there were 2 bosses amongst them. Rare I know but this was one of those times.

I switched to Demon Limb and put Enchant on.. and DAMN. What was that.. suddenly I was killing them down right QUICK.

I was really happy.. then the minions came and I didn't get it. I wasn't killing anything at all.. or rather I was doing it slowly. Then I realized .. I hadn't switched back to the Lash.

So flash update :

Against all lightning immunes :
Use Demon Limb + Enchant and you'll do down right fine.
Only thing I feel stupid aoubt is if I have to 'Jah' it .. hehe cuse it does need attack rating. and though the Enchant helps.. hehe well you get the idea I hope

Just thought I'd let people know that little finding
