It seems to work for some, but is inconsistent.

Either use gomule or ask the sender to resend it on a character.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I was playing SP for quite some time (and am finally quite wealthy) when i learned some friends picked up the game again and began playing on the Battle.net realms.

I was running GoMule and RWM for SP, and i was just curious the steps i should take to insure that i am running 'unmodded' when i play on the bnet realms.

As far as RWM is concerned i figured that as long as i am running the diablo 2 xpac shortcut without the special -direct -txt and /Runewords (required for RWM to work) that i would run a version of the game that is a vanilla install. This would be the same as a normal diabloII.exe shortcut that was created from the vanilla install. Is this okay, or do i have to completely remove the Runewords folder from the diablo II folder within my program files? Will i have to do the same for GoMule?

Any help or response is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

If you run it from the vanilla shortcut you will be just fine, no need to uninstall any atma/gomule or remove the folder. The only other issue is if you changed the .Dll file to run multiple instances.

I got a trouble with a stash. There is an error which says "unable to open stash file" because of "bad size". How can I fix this?

Did you put an essence in a stash?

You should be able to restore one of the backups, but I don't use atma much so I'm not exactly sure how.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but since part of the threadtitle says 'etc' i'm assuming it is.

As you may know my pc has been broken for a while. Now it is fixed i started up D2 again and somehow the loadingtimes are much slower. At the screen that shows Cain with the light getting brighter in most cases i can easily count to 5 and sometimes i even get to 9 (weird thing is i heard the vigoraura triggering after 1 or maybe 2 seconds, so what the game is doing the remainder of the time, i don't know). Which seems to be way slower then it was and then it should be.

Only things i could come up with that have changed are a program i installed to make backups of the system. I didn't make that an autobackup as i feared that exactly what is happening now would happen.
And to support that i hooked up an external harddrive. Which i have now unhooked to see if that caused the problem, but no it didn't.

To solve the problem i've tried installing the glide wrapper. However with that installed D2 gets stuck every time i try to load it. Don't know if i did anything wrong with that, so here's what i did:
- copied .dll and .init files to D2 folder
- run videotest
- select the new video option given by the wrapper
- run D2
Did i miss any steps here?

With that failing i've tried going back to my old video options but that didn't work either. After that i did a full re-install. However the problem persists. Only thing that seems to work is run it in windowed mode. The upside is that loading is almost instant. But i don't like that as the window is small(er; i like a full screen) and your mouse can easily shoot off the window leading to dangerous situations.

Hopefully someone here can give me some suggestions to improve performance.

Edit: I forgot to add that not only loading times are slow, but also gameplay itself is painfully slow. It's like watching a slomotion in a slomotion.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Hello there.

I've installed RWM 1.13c (under Windows XP) using the instructions provided in the archive. The installation appears to be correct (the screenshots are created in the "Runewords" folder), but for some reason, I'm still unable to create ladder-only runewords - my attempt to create Insight resulted in a Gemmed Poleaxe "RalTirTalSol".

Where did I go wrong?

That is very odd, it would seem as if you have it right. I'd double check your shortcut etc.

The only other thought is that you did make sure it was a 4 socket polearm and not 5/6 os.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Hello there! newbie here

i've been playing Diablo II SP for a while now, but never got into Sp trading, or even bnet tbh

Anyway, i installed RWM for 1.13c (no install probs), so i decided to try and see if it works. I created a copy of my lvl 85 Zealot to mess around in the editors and see if there was any problem in creating the Ladder runewords.
I tried 3 runewords, Death, Grief and Last Wish, on a 5 socket Phase Blade (6 for LW) (i used Editor) NOTE: Im editing a copy of my char, just to mess around with it, so i wont be using this one for trades or anything like this. I know the SPF doesnt allow these editors.

So of all the 3 runewords i tried, only Last Wish worked nice. The other two, Death and Grief never got the +%DMG to their base dmg values. My question is, is it because of the items which i ised came from and editor. or is it the Runes.txt file on the Runeword folder messed up?? I already re-installed RWM a few times (cleared the excel folder), but i always get the same results.

Do not name or discuss editors on this forum. We are unable to assist you if you have used anything like that. The only advice we can give is uninstall and reinstall cleanly.

Feel free to PM me or email me (info in the FAQ) if required.

Ok, im aware of that. Thats why i said it was a copy of my char which im using only to test the RWM.

Can you imagine the frustration if, when you finally have the runes to make that Grief or Death runeword, the item doesnt work properly??

But i think i got my answer. I was taking a look at the runes.txt file, and in some runewords the Min and Max parameters for some modifiers seems to be out of place (but i wont mess with that)

Thy is out for a bit, so I'll try to explain the best I can.

I can pretty much guarantee that your problem comes from your un approved mod. I've never heard this problem in other circumstances. This site does not support that mod and will not give you any help with it. You were asking for help with it. There is no need to test those things, if rwm works it will work with all runewords, you can test it with edge or insight, both very cheap.

If you need further explanation I highly recommend you pm or email Thy as she suggested.

Yup, works nice! Tested a Spirit RW, worked fine!

Now up to find my LO rune to make Grief!

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

1.13d and Macs
Please note that there is not yet a Mac RWM patch available for 1.13d. Upgrading to 1.13d and then applying the patch linked from the first page will either revert you to 1.13c or mess up your installation. (For macs it is not guaranteed that all the patch code is in the patch file).

I am working on the 1.13d RWM patch and will post back in this thread when it is available.

max.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I'm having an issue with ATMA where my character file hasn't changed. I've picked up new things in the game, and when I go into ATMA to move stuff around, the character is old, with stuff I no longer have in the game. Any ideas?

I'm running 1.13c LoD, ATMA 5.05 with the fix for essences.

You should always make sure you save and exit a game before opening a character in atma, its generally designed to only work that way.

Was that what you were doing?

Not at first. Then I started exiting out of the game to move stuff. Any way to get my current character to load in ATMA?

I know sometimes there is an issue with windows allowing permission to write and do stuff in the folders, that's my only other thought. Maybe someone else will help if that doesn't solve it.

You can always try gomule if you are playing the current version.
