Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I just wanted to make sure, just now I realized that it is considered a mod. Anyways, I'm just considering to start SP from long years in BNet. Options were all I am looking for.
I guess the good 'ol GoMule will do the trick just as well.

EDIT: Just to clear some of the vagueness around me - I've played Median for a while but NEVER vanilla SP, because I thought it was boring to be "without a community". What made me alter my path is this very forum with its mature members and draconian rules. Keep up the good work.

Hello all long time member coming back to sp, im having problems extracting rwm. Im extracting the file using 7-zip, but after extracting Im getting none of the bin files. I also looked through the zip file in 7 zip manager and saw a file in data called thumbs.db, this is the file that does not seem to extract. Just read over a few other problems in this topic but could not find one answering this. My op system is windows 7 64 bit.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Not sure what that file is, I don't have it in my folder.

The bin files should all be buried in the folder: C: \Diablo II\Runewords\data\global\excel

after you extract them into the proper place at least.

What version are you playing, BTW?

The bin files are created after you get the RWM working and they are where kestegs said. With Win7/vista your probably going to run into permission problems. You can either run Diablo as an administrator or install it outside the Program Files folder. I suggest that if you are worried about running as an admin for virus/security install Diablo somewhere else, say C:\Games\Diablo

As for thumbs.db that is created by windows and only shows up when you enable system and protected files. It is created in each folder that you try to show as thumbnails in the window. It holds a preview of your thumbnails so that your computer does not need to recreate them every time. Thumbs.db is often copied into zip folders by accident when someone copies the folder and not just the contents. Short answer is you really do not need it, but I'd leave it alone and not worry about it.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Hello all,

I'm playing LOD v1.13d on a PPC Mac running Mac OS X, and recently installed the latest version of GoMule (replacing the version that I had been using for LOD v1.12).

Here is the problem that I'm having:

1. I can see my stashes
2. I cannot load ANY single player character

I have tried reinstalling GoMule, reseting my Java caches, etc., etc., but with not luck.

everything seems to be working except for my inability to load a character.

can anyone offer some advice?

Thanks

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

To all Mac users:

Mac RWM for 1.13d is now uploaded. (Thanks Thy!)

Instructions for upgrading:
1. Swap your 1.13c RWM patch for a vanilla one.
2. Upgrade to 1.13d from BNet as usual
3. Download the new RWM patch. It is called 1.13d RWM.zip, link as first post.
4. Unzip and copy the new patch in as usual (see post 1)

Actually for this patch, it seems to upgrade OK over a 1.13c RWM patch on BNet, but it isn't always the case.

@Mislan: OS Version?

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

The Mac OS is version 10.3. (Panther) -- do you think it could be a Java issue?

GoMule R0.22 works fine -- it's just the latest version that I'm having difficulty with.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Hello. Just got an essence, and now atma crashes.

Am I just blind? I can't find Misc1.13cATMA.7z and atma_gfxATMA1.13c.zip.

Atma doesn't like essences in stashes, keep them on characters.

You may need to restore it from the backup.

I don't use atma much but there should be built in backups that you can restore, you just have to rename the file to match the original I think.

Maybe someone else more familiar will come along if you can't find it.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

You must be careful not to create dupes. Only move the essence and make sure to delete the backups characters that you renamed and changed the extension for. Sorry, this forum takes a strong stance against dupes.

Once you've read above click the spoiler's show button.
Inside the folders look for files with the extension '.org' Once you find them look for your stash/character name. For example if your stash is named ITAMZ the file name would be ITAMZ.d2x and the backup would be ITAMZ.org. By default ATMA should make backups, if I recall correctly there should be 6 or 9. Each time you move something into or out of the stash, onto or off of your character or move an item into another part of the inventory of your character. I'm not sure if it also makes a backup each time you press the save button, though it might.

In order to get your items back, I'd suggest making a backup of your ATMA and Diablo 2 folders. Once you have your items and essence back you can delete the backup folders. They are just to ensure that nothing else happens while renaming files.

Now to get your stash back to working order you need to delete your stash, example ITAMZ.d2x, and rename ITAMZ.org to ITAMZ.d2x and open it with ATMA. This should be the only step needed for the items minus your essence.

If I recall correctly the extension for characters is '.d2s' If it is not just look at the extension that your original character has and substitute that for '.d2s' in the next paragraph.

Now to get back your essence. You need to open your Diablo 2 and find the back up of your character. Rename your character.org to character1.d2s. Open that character in ATMA and ONLY move the essence to another character, NOTHING ELSE. After that DELETE your character1.d2s Failing to do so may create dupes.

Note: If you have saved your character a few times it might take a few tries to find the backup with the essence. If I recall correctly when ATMA makes a backup it increments the backup file names. So that the names look like this. Just change the extension on the next few backups they are already a different name than your character and should not produce an error in windows. If you get to your last backup, ITAMZ_9.org and still do not have your essence then I hate to tell you, but you have saved your character too many times since you moved the essence off the character.

ITAMZ.org - most recent backup
ITAMZ_1.org - second most recent backup
ITAMZ_2.org - third most recent backup
ITAMZ_x.org - all the way until 9 if I recall correctly.

Again sorry for what seems like Red tape or commands. This forum is very strict even if you do not trade or MP with anyone here.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Does anyone know of a good 7Z file extracter?

Because I'm having trouble unzipping the 1.13 version of ATMA

(And yes, I have tried renaming them to make them a regular zip file, but it didn't work.)

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

My bank of atma utility is giving me some problems. Every time I try to make a transfer it's automatically puting -65000 in the value boxes. It won't move gold from my characters, or put on. Now it's saying I have like 148693839 available gold. I only had like 2,500,000. I need to know how I can delete all the gold that's in there, and why it's bugging. If some body has a good suggestion, could you please PM me.

On a side note, I'm obviously not going to use the duped gold. If that's what you want to call it. If I can't delete it I'll just stop using that feature of atma.

I do not know if the bug for gold in ATMA is the same one in GoMule that only effects Diablo versions 1.13+

Ever since 1.13 eliminated level based gold limit, replacing it with a universal amount, GoMule has had trouble with gold movement. The gold amount per level was hard coded into GoMule to only allow you to have a certain amount in your inventory or on your character if you do not move any gold around or into the bank then you will not be affected.

If you are using 1.13+ and this is the reason for your trouble with ATMA then I'd suggest not bothering with the gold bank until a newer version of ATMA/GoMule is released and fixes this.

If you'd like to fix your gold bank here is a link to the tip that I've given in the past for transferring gold in between ATMA and GoMule. It should help even if you only have ATMA or only GoMule.

Note: I'm not sure when or if a newer version of GoMule or ATMA will ever be made.

I'm almost certain it is a Java issue. I was running Panther and couldn't run the latest GoMule when it came out. Upgraded to Tiger and all was OK.

Go find a copy of Tiger.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I use 1.13d but atma doesnt work with it, why is this? Is a compatible atma version being made for 1.13d?

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Never checked it myself, but since I have not seen any reports of it not working for 1.13d and I'm sure a few have updated at this point to 1.13d it might just be your computer. Please tell us the symptoms.

Has ATMA worked on the computer you are using now before you updated?
Which OS are you running? Win7/vista or XP?
Are you getting any errors when you try to run ATMA?
Does GoMule work? If you do not want to install Java I'm not saying you have to, just checking.
You are closing Diablo 2 or at least going to the opening screen before using ATMA. ATMA and Diablo 2 are best run separately so you do not run the risk of duping items. As long as you go back to the screen that has buttons for Single Player and b.net you are safe to run ATMA and transfer items.
You are trying to run ATMA only for Single Player? Just checking since this is your first post. These programs only work in SP never on b.net

Through my experience helping here I have a feeling it is because your computer is running Win7/vista. If you are using Win7/vista your saves are probably in a different area than you think if you are not running Diablo 2 as an administrator.

If you cannot find your saves I suggest doing this: Show hidden files and folders in the folder options dialog box. You may also need to show system folders. Once these box(es) have been checked click Apply and go to this folder. Change Login_Name to what you use when you log into the computer.
C:\Users\Login_Name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Pro gram Files (x86)\Diablo II\save

In the folder above are your actual saves. I will not bore you with the details, but suffice it to say it's part of windows protection features introduced in windows vista and continued in win7.

If your saves do not change in the game, try running ATMA as an administrator and see if that helps.

To save yourself the hassle of this windows 'feature' I'd suggest installing Diablo, ATMA and GoMule, if you have it, into another folder than Program Files. Say C:\Games Good luck.
