Adria - Inventory Management System

Re: Adria - Inventory Management System

one problem i encountered when trying to make a trade list.

in the older version, relevant info were abbreviated, eg (34 resists to all --> 34@)

but in this version my trade list generated typed everything out one by one, do i have to add all the abbreviations back one by one?

And... how do i remove the [upped] in front of the trade text? Thanks.

The abbreviation function still works just as before, haven't touched it. Are you sure the stat you're looking at is spelled just as it was before and that it was abbreviated in the previous version?

In any case to adding abbreviations isn't to hard when you're using the programs interface:

  1. Print a tradelist.
  2. Go to the "Mod Abb" tab.
  3. The listbox will automatically have been filled by all mods longer then the specified "length" (default = 5).
  4. Select the mod you wish to abbreviate in the listbox.
  5. click the "Add Abbreviation" button.
  6. Type abbreviation using x0 to x9 to represent the numbers as shown by previous entries.
  7. Click the save button.
  8. Reprint your tradelist using the new abbreviations.

You can of course choose to edit the AbbreviateStats.txt file directly, but a bit more work since you have to type in everything by hand.

And... how do i remove the [upped] in front of the trade text? Thanks.
Upped indicates if an item is upped of course, which is added when a unique items base doesn't match what is written in our mdb file, to remove it you have to edit the template you're using.

  1. Select the node that represents the section you wish to edit (can be an item node that starts with "Items:" or a header node for example, or you can select the root node if you wish to change the settings in an entire template).
  2. Click the edit button below the tradelist templates.
  3. In the "Edit Node" window uncheck the "Upped tag" checkbox.
  4. Note that these settings are node local and only matter for item nodes. The "Pass Down" Button can let you pass all settings down to all subnodes in case you're editing a header or the root node. If you're editing a specific item node simply click ok to save the changes.
  5. Once you're satisfied with the changes you've made, be sure to hit the save button located next to the print button in the tradelist maker, otherwise your changes will be lost upon closing adria.
Warning: The pass down button makes all subnodes inherit all settings, not just the one you've changes. When editing or construction your own template always be sure to keep this in mind.

Re: Adria - Inventory Management System

So, since the codejock software only works 30 days, this means Adria as a whole only works 30 days either, right? Are there no free alternatives?

Re: Adria - Inventory Management System

Also, I've been trying for an hour now and I can't get the OCR thing to work.

What do I do wrong? I open Adria 4.3.0, I open diablo and create a new game on bnet, I click Application > Start engine, then ingame I hover over an item and press F12. Nothing happens. The list does not get populated. :(

It will not stop working even after the 30 days.

You need glide graphics to use fullscreen, otherwise use windowed mode. Start out adding accounts/characters as described in the video guide for that action in the first post, then hover mouse over items and press F8 while you have a character selected.

Edit: Ah wait, you said 4.3.0 ... then watch this video:

Re: Adria - Inventory Management System

is there a way to install the new version without going through the OCR calibration again?

I use windowed mode.

4.3.0 is the latest stable version, right? So it seemed natural to install this. I can try 4.4.0 if this doesn't work out. A suggestion: perhaps the site (at least the one on google code) should mention that you recommend the beta version instead of the latest stable version.

I did, but it still doesn't work. Everything works fine up to pressing insert, which doesn't do anything at all. Perhaps a suggestion to future versions: add a line somewhere that comments on the effect of a button press (e.g. "OCR not ready" or "unreadable image" or "diablo not open" or ... or just nothing if the press is not registred?

Also, what is the OCR calibration the post above talks about? I didn't notice any calibration, the OCR tab in settings was filled with realistic-looking values right from the start.

Sadly 4.3.0 isn't 100% stable for everyone on win7/vista, and we've been getting a lot of problems reported from users of those OSes. So can't say 4.3.0 is still the way to go unless you're on XP.

I kinda assumed most would want to use the beta even if it's not yet fully fine-tuned. The new features like the improved acc/char management in the ingamewindow and the multiscan function kinda makes the old rather inferior. Though I've yet to explain the multiscan function so guess most don't know how to use it yet ... sigh, I've got too much rl stuff to work on atm and can't spend much time on adria sadly ...

Screenshot please, I'll see if I can spot the problem.

4.4.0 thing, basically there you don't have a hard coded symbol recognition. The Beta will instead ask you to identify some letters as it comes across them for the first time ... will probably have to make a calibration function to automate the process for the proper release.

Re: Adria - Inventory Management System

It looks like the ingame window doesn't lock onto the D2 window correctly. Make sure the window caption is correctly specified in the settings (general tab). Also see if there's any messages in the error log (Adria.log located in your data folder).

As far as I can see, it is.

There is no Adria.log in my data folder...

(This made me think of a permissions problem. I have tried executing Adria as administrator but this did not solve the problem.)

Hmm, in that case I can at the moment probably only advice that you contact other win7 users. If you search through this thread you should find quite a few.

Sadly I've got only XP computers myself, so cannot help much regarding win7 specific details ...

Re: Adria - Inventory Management System

By the way, could it be that the uninstall procedure doesn't completely uninstall Adria? I removed 4.3.0 now and installed 4.4.0 afterwards, but it still knew my usernames and it didn't ask for any calibration... and alas it didn't work at all either.

So perhaps another question: how do I completely remove all Adria data? After running the uninstaller I deleted the remaining files in C:/Program Files/Adria but apparently that's not enough...

The acc and char files containing the item data is left untouched in the data folder, other then that I think everything should have been removed. In general you'll have to delete the data folder manually if you wish for a 100% removal.

The calibration happens once you try adding an item. Here this post should be helpful:

Might be a good idea to read the posts slightly before that one too to follow the discussion.

Re: Adria - Inventory Management System

@JustAPlayer: I'm on adria 4.4.0 now so I can't test the difference now. I have tried it in all possible ways with 4.3.0 though.

Anyways, I got it semi-working now, the problem was indeed that Adria didn't hook on the window properly, opening Adria with winXP compatibility solved the problem.

Main problem now is - as was mentioned before - that Adria stops recording my keypresses after a certain amount of time (or a certain amount of items). I then have to stop het OCR, close Adria, open it again and restart the OCR.

A side problem is that for some items, especially if they have a large description window, it is very hard to get the mouse out of the text zone. I tried capturing the maul of my IK barb and it didn't work. But ok, doing some items manually shouldn't be too big of a deal.

Re: Adria - Inventory Management System

If you unequip the IK maul and place it in stash I doubt there will be any problems scanning it. But yes, some of the set items especially can have huge descriptions. However, if the description becomes to big the game will at least switch to a smaller font ... and the new OCR in 4.4.0 is made to recognize this change and adjust accordingly.

Sadly I can't help much regarding the bug about the keyhook, justaplayer is the expert on that part of the code.

Re: Adria - Inventory Management System

Yeah well, the IK thing isn't much of a problem as I said. :)

The only thing stopping me from using it productively is now the fact that the program stops working every now and then. Sometimes it's the complete hook loss, which is easy to solve by restarting Adria, but currently I'm back in the situation that F8 doesn't do anything despite all other keys functioning properly. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, I guess I'll try restarting my computer.

Re: Adria - Inventory Management System

I guess I'll try restarting my computer.
Didn't help anything. F8 is unresponsive although now all other functions seem to work and I do exactly the same as the previous times that it did work.

Perhaps an interesting side note: often my mouse pointer is invisible when hovering over the Adria window with the OCR on.

Anyway, I think I'll made my trade list by hand for now. :/ This software has a potential to be very useful, but there are some bugs to be solved before it becomes productive. If I can do anything to help you testing or bug hunting, let me know.
