Adria - Inventory Management System

Re: Adria - Inventory Management System

I just want to say I really enjoy the program, its wonderful. However, I'm having the same problem that foudroyeur is. It just seems to lump every item into one class, not seperating them into armors, shields, helms, etc. like in the youtube video. I tried both the binary and install and the same thing on both. Really hoping to get this fixed, otherwise its really clustered. Cheers.

Edit: Just wanted to note I fixed the problem. I was running in compatibility mode for Windows 2k. I just unchecked that and now it sorts the items perfectly fine.
Good find

Be sure to message foudroyeur, as I'm not sure if he's keeping an eye on this thread and has spotted the solution. I could do it myself, but it's better if you get the credit.

Judging from your post it seams you're almost there, you've dragged items onto the "Trade List" panel located to the right in the main window I take it. From there you need to right click inside that list of items and choose "Generate trade text", this will open the tradelist maker.

In the tradelist maker you select on of the templates on the left and press the print button located above the templates, the program will then generate a tradelist according to the template and print the results into a textbox on the "Printout" tab just right of the print button.

The tradelist save function you found generates a item list for storage so that you can load it into adria at a later time again, the file ending we choose is to make it adria specific, but it's really just a standard txt file that you can open in notepad. However, it only contains info on which items in your item database that where loaded into the tradelist, nothing of value for any other programs.

Item values are not universal but vary depending on realm, ladder/non-ladder and time. To know the price of items you have to keep up with the market, which usually means doing a lot of trades yourself. It takes some time for new players to learn them, but in general you can safely get into it on these boards since most people are polite and will not try to rip you off. Still, there's a trade value forum where you can ask for price checks and there may also be a price guide posted that includes some pointers regarding most items.

Re: Adria - Inventory Management System

ok in the tradelist window i rightclicked and it opens a window up with that print thingy you were talking about, the tradelist maker, over to the far left i see a whole bunch of stuff in there listed that look users with names Gluttony,Greed, sloth,Pride,Lust,Envy,Wrath. unsure why the 7 deadly sins are listed here but anyways now what do i do

I picked those names for the fun of it, they are the templates I mentioned, the control is a standard treeview and I refer to the top most nodes/root nodes as tradelist templates. Basically a template and its sub nodes hold the settings for how a particular tradelist should be printed, simply select one and press the print button.

When you've printed you'll get a BB-code formatted tradelist in the "printout" tab on the right of the templates, which you can select, copy and paste into your posts here.

Edit:
There's a bunch of features tucked into the tradelist printer, but I selected this template approach since it's fairly simple to get going. If you find a template you like you'll not have to go in and mix with the settings much on your own, but if needed you can edit the templates to adjust how their printouts look ...

Sorry about the lack of documentation regarding this ... I've been slacking on writing it and focused on programming more features instead. :whistling:

Re: Adria - Inventory Management System

ahh thanks, now do you knwo anything about starting to become a trader?
I posted in your other thread on the traders support forum, think my advice there can help you get started, but I rarely trade myself these days so I'm not 100% updated on if anything has changed recently.

All I can say it that you'll not be doing anything much different from normal forum activities. You create a thread posting your offers (tradelist) and needs, which can be for example bids in pgems or runes. Others will reply to your thread if they find anything of interest.

Just be sure that you go to the correct forum for your realm plus have a look at the rules they have in their stickies and you'll be fine. Learning by watching is a good method here, so have a look at the threads of others in your realms trade forum.

Edit:
The stickies in the trade forum also explain some things like the trade rating system etc.

Note: back in the day there where a specific "trader" system kinda separated from the forums, but I never got into those, it's much simpler to just use the trade forums.

Re: Adria - Inventory Management System

cool i will go look at that reply in the trade forums shortly, so i did what you said i just picked the top thing i think it was gluttony or something and it made my trade list "so excited" ..Now when i select copy and then go to the forums and create a new post i can only have a total of 1000 charactors or letters i guess in a post. and they dont all BB code so how can i get just teh items names to come up and not the complete details of the items, i wish i could put that in there because it tells exactly what the items is and what stats etc. are on the item. ?

Re: Adria - Inventory Management System

Select the template (root node) and press the edit button below the tree view. There you can edit some options:

The "Split at" option is set to 20000 or 40000 as default, if you need your posts to be shorter you can lower this number to make adria split the list so you can post a tradelist in multiple parts. When a tradelist is split you can select the different parts one by one using the combobox located in the upper right of the tradelist maker (just below the "x" button on the window frame).
This setting is global and you only have to do it in the root node.

If you wish to remove the mods and only let adria print item names you should edit the "Item Printout Formatting", it's default set to "Tags Name (Mods)[CR]", but removing the "Mods" keyword you remove the list of mods from each item printout.
This setting is per node so it needs to be changed in all the item nodes you wish to have it changed in, easiest way is to change it in the root node and pressing the "Pass Down" button, which makes all of its sub-nodes inherit it's settings.

To be honest I'm not following your post quite completely, 1000 letters maximum? That might be a new member restriction, it should be 60 000 normally if I recall correctly. I think I understood that you wished to only show item names and typed the solution here above, but this sentence still leaves me a bit confused:
i wish i could put that in there because it tells exactly what the items is and what stats etc. are on the item. ?
Mind clarifying?

Re: Adria - Inventory Management System

i dont think i can clarify this any more , i am still not understanding how to get the stats to no display,

Re: Adria - Inventory Management System

here maybe i can paste what i dont want to see and you can tell me how to get rid of the options i need to ,..this is an example of what is happening

Re: Adria - Inventory Management System

I think I was fairly clear on how to do it, but I guess I might as well do this:

Think I understand what you meant to say now. If I'm right in my assumption, then all questions should at least have been answered now in any case.

Re: Adria - Inventory Management System

I just downloaded Adria (and the codejock controls) but I can't seem to be able to bring up the ingame window -- F12 doesn't work, and also when I start the OCR engine directly from the Adria window, the window pops up but doesn't let me type anything in it. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) and have tried multiple compatibility modes but nothing seems to be working. I read through part of the thread, and it seems like no one has this problem... am I doing something wrong?

Edit: Never mind, just had to run Adria as an administrator. However, I'm having the same 6-item problem that others have experienced... but I can get around it by just restarting Adria every 5 items I scan, haha. Otherwise, great application. :)

Graphics:
You need to use glide graphics for the ingamewindow to stay visible when d2 is in fullscreen mode. Since glide is unsupported by newer gfx-cards you'll have to use a wrapper to be able to utilize it. Diablo was actually written for glide, so game performance in general should increase if you use the wrapper btw.

That said, adria does currently not support scanning items while d2 is fullscreen. To scan items you'll have to use windowed mode, which you get by adding the -w switch to a shortcuts target (img).

PS: Scanning in fullscreen mode while using glide graphics will be supported in the next version of adria.

General use:
The video in the first post should explain the starting steps, if not try pressing F1 and that should give you a rundown of the available commands.

Can't do much more then that atm, you'll have to provide a screenshot of how it looks for me to spot possible other erros (printscreen and paste into paint).

Re: Adria - Inventory Management System

I'm not having trouble getting the in-game window to show up anymore (that was fixed by running Adria as administrator, and I always run D2 in windowed mode), but I discovered that Adria stops working not only after six scans but also after six item in-game item searches, in-game item database look-ups, etc. So whenever that happens, I have to restart Adria to restore the in-game window functionality (although everything within the Adria window always works). I know it's been difficult to pinpoint the problem, but it'd be awesome if there were a way to fix this.

Re: Adria - Inventory Management System

I've rewritten the OCR for the next version hoping that would be one step in the right direction towards fixing that problem, but at this point I doubt that it ever was the OCRs fault.

If it's file access issue as is likely, then changing the installation folder and/or datafolder path could help. Likewise adjusting the security settings in win7 is another option, but I've got no clue where to start in that regard.

If I had win7 it'd be much easier, but the only thing I can do atm is ask my msn contacts for their assistance.
