First, I'd like to respond to all the 'donations' that have been coming my way. Except for Be-Were (who is hardcore), I have several people on USEast softcore ladder telling me their accountnames and passwords. I don't know how this makes other people feel, but I am extremely uncomfortable about this. I've been very secure about my own information and, although I'm very trustworthy, it's people like me that get screwed even when doing nothing wrong - something always does and I get blamed. Don't ask me what could go wrong, it does. I'm the type that secrets could be told in strictest of confidence, but at the same time I'm not the type who likes being told secrets of most types, if you can understand that. I'm not getting to go into a whole psychological discussion about my childhood here, I'm just saying if you have runes to donate, whisper me and I'll make a game. If you have something else, I'll consider holding on to it given it's nearly impossible to trade these days without someone continuously reminding me that anything I trade for I should consider duped (again, the whole 'you don't rob for a buck, you rob a bank' theory comes into play here, but some people seem to think everything is hacked in some way, shape or form unless you find it). This is the biggest reason, outside of Blizzard totally screwing over the trade channels, that I simply don't trade except in these forums, and then I've rarely gotten a response. Everyone wants godly, an-item-like-this-only-drops-once-every-three-months items, which they appear to be getting once every three hours thanks to bots.
I just don't like it when someone whispers 'Hey, I'm quitting D2 so here's my password!' You figure it's someone who jacked someone else's account, gained someone else's trust or otherwise guessed someone else's password and, after looting it themselves, changes the pass and makes it public. I realize that isn't what's going on here but seeing as Blizzard has done such a piss-poor job I've been conditioned this way. I'm sorry if people have been angered by my reluctance.

Which brings us to Sokar's response about WoW. I can't write the five-page article I was going to about the entire Blizzard/Battle.net free-versus-pay-to-play thing without someone telling me they'd print it, I'd get paid or that anyone would care. Suffice it to say I had no idea WoW was PtP and that now eliminates any chance of me playing even if the game were given to me as a gift. I will not give Blizzard any more money after the piss-poor [becoming a common phrase here] job they've done with other games. When you begin releasing other titles without fixing the ones already on the market then you're basically telling your previous customers to go to hell. Don't tell me 'B.net is free, you have no right to complain'. I have a free ***-kicking to give you and when I'm done I better not hear you complain either. Free != good, and now they've taken something that is not good and started charging for it.
I'm assuming, Sokar, that WoW is going to be played on B.ent? That's a laugh. When NetZero offered free internet they knew it wouldn't be able to stay that way, that costs would climb, but they also knew if they did a decent job they'd also be able to keep most of their customer base. Most of those who left did so simply because the main reason they got on was because it was free, either because they couldn't afford any other alternative (and still couldn't) or needed a back-up ISP. Most who stayed did so because they received decent service. Can Blizzard say that about Bent? No.
To infer Blizzard is trying to move everyone they screwed over in D2 to a PtP system that isn't even working right now shows they're interested more in bucks than reputable service. I no longer have a bank account, thanks to this wonderful economy our government says we have, and I'm not giving another dime to a company that has ignored problem after problem with their own system. Unbend Bent then ask for forgiveness from those whose fun they've ruined and they might get some of their customers back... I just won't be one of them.
