with my army of 5 i trudged into the burial grounds, 3 tps, one buying of a short sword of blight, numerous healing potions later i emerged triumphant

i have all equipment spots filled barring the rings and ammys all up i think i have 100% poison length reduction, and about 10 PR

should have named him remedy, as most of his equipment is xx of remedy

Class specifics spawn as norm/excep/elite base items too, for example, katars are normal, quhabs are excep, vortex shields are elite, etc.

Just looked too good to pass up

Even though i havent posted in a while, i have still been lurkin around. This tourny just looked too cool to pass up. Since i like to name my characters something that i can easily remember why they were created:

Already made a little progress with him. After a very long and tedious fight, Obsessive finally defeated Blood Raven. Thank heavens one of the skeletons outside the graveyard dropped a chipped topaz that i imediately socketed into a scepter i had stashed or i would have been there a while choppin away at her with that blasted short sword!

Only find worth mentioning so far is a Rixot's Keen short sword. Its worthless to me in this tourny, but it is a grailer for me.

Question regarding set itmes:

Wolron, you wrote that your merc was equipped with Isenhart's Helm and Breast Plate, because then the Helm rants +8 to all Res. Does that mean, that as long as only one set item gains as partial mod one of my obessions mods I am allowed to use all of them? Just asking, because the armor hasn't any obessions mentioned (with 2 items) except for Strength.

You're right, when one item gets a bonus, if you have a second item, you may also use the second item. However, you cannot claim the equipment in each slot at end of dificulty bonus when doing this, IIRC.

I haven't had much time (and when time was there my cd wasn't) to play but maybe this weekend miss VitaForTheWeak will make some progress and show everyone that vitatily are for weaklings

So I finally managed to get thorugh Act II. Every single monster was cut down by my mercenary or by my Firewall. There were no problems whatsoever because my huge amount of life (well, for a sorceress...) went never even below 50%. Duriel was really easy: 15 seconds and he was gone - I only had to use 4 mana potions (with my current mana I can cast FW only 3 times). However, he dropped nothing useful at all.
I found a Isenhart's Case and Horns and think I'll use them for the time being on my mercenery. I'll stick to my Act2 Merc until I reach Act2 NM (HF Merc seems a pretty good choice, because he can slow down monsters what's pretty cool with FW) because I really need a tank.

I'm currently Level 28, my Level11 Firewall does currently 562-585 damage

Cold Res: 75
Poison Res: 30

All item slots filled! Yey! (What gives me about one zillion Cold Resistance...)

btw, I made my mind up concerning my second obsession: It will be Frozen Orb.

HiLife made a start tonight. Cleared up to the Inner Cloister. Nothing special to report yet. Still have 3 slots to fill both rings and boots. I seem to have seen every other element all the time on them just never my own. Merc and I both using a topaz, emerald, sapphire bow.

could someone please explain how i can add my stats to the table?

and.. raise skeleton says it receives bonuses from skeletal mastery and summon resist, so do they count as synergies?

Click reply on the last post with a table. Remove the quotes tags. To make things line up easier copy the table part into notepad, edit it there then copy it back. May sure you preview before posting to make sure it looks right.

Question regarding set itmes:

Wolron, you wrote that your merc was equipped with Isenhart's Helm and Breast Plate, because then the Helm rants +8 to all Res. Does that mean, that as long as only one set item gains as partial mod one of my obessions mods I am allowed to use all of them? Just asking, because the armor hasn't any obessions mentioned (with 2 items) except for Strength.

No, you can wear one other set item to get that bonus. Other set items would not be needed to get the bonus. There are two ways to justify wearing a set item:

You can wear a set item if it has one of your obsessions mentioned

or,

if it is needed to get a bonus for another item in that set that mentions your obsession.

Two Examples:

(1) I have Hsarus's boots and belt. The belt has +20 Cold (my elemental obsession), so I can wear it. However, the boots are not needed to get that +20 cold, so I cannot wear the boots. Too bad for me!

(2) I have Isenhart's armor and helm. Neither of these has my obsession mentioned, however, when I wear both of them, the helm gives me +8 resist all. Therefore, to feed by obsession, I can wear both of them even though the armor itself does not mention any of my obsessions.

Later, I may find Isenhart's shield or sword. If I recall, the shield also can get +8 resist all as long as there is at least one other Isenhart item worn. I should be able to use that shield, but then I would not need the armor any longer. I hope I do not find the shield, because I just used my socketing quest to put a socket in the armor and that perfect amethyst is needed to get +10 strength. The sword has no reference to any of my obsessions, so it will not be used in any case.

You're right, when one item gets a bonus, if you have a second item, you may also use the second item. However, you cannot claim the equipment in each slot at end of dificulty bonus when doing this, IIRC.

No, you can only wear that second item if it is essential to get the partial set bonus (referencing your obsession) on another item.

Yes, you can declare both of the set items for the five point scoring bonus!

Scoring rule reads as follows:

Five bonus points for completing a difficulty level wearing an equipment item in all slots(including the merc and the switch weapon). The one exception is the shield. If you use a shield, it must conform to the obsession requirements, but it is not needed for the five point bonus.

That means that the set item (in my case the Isenhart's Case) needed to get an obsession on another set item (Isenhart's horns) can be counted in the five point scoring. Why? Because I am allowed to wear it. That is the only requirement for the five point bonus.

Yes, the synergies for raise skeleton are: Skeleton Mastery and Summon Resist. That means that you must put 20 skill points in each of the three skills to maximize "Raise Skeleton".

I haven't had much time (and when time was there my cd wasn't) to play but maybe this weekend miss VitaForTheWeak will make some progress and show everyone that vitatily are for weaklings

Full gear bonus is claimed at the end of Normal Difficulty (Or the end of NM, or the end of Hell).

When you max a skill and all of its synergies, you claim your ten point bonus. I maxed DeltaO's Jab skill at the end of act 1 and got the ten points then. I will max her Strafe skill in the later part of act 5 and claim another ten points then.

You cannot use Isenhart's case unless you also have the helm or shield. Otherwise, Isenhart's case does nothing for your obsessions and cannot be worn.
