I got a Sol rune from HF, so I want to make some caster boots, and that means I need to get some wyrmhide boots.

@WoRG's guide says they can't be shopped, so I'm trying to gamble them, but I don't know if it's even possible to gamble wyrmhide boots. I've started doing full clears from Act 1 to farm up gold.

Any ideas on the best way to get those boots?

You can gamble them in Hell. You have to gamble the "Boots" base of course. It can take a few tries to get some. I'm often doing the same, farming up gold and gambling for Wyrmhide Boots and Vambraces etc. I like LK for farming gold though, quick if you have a Sorc. Circlets-Diadems always spawn magic or higher which can be an easy 25k, so those can be a good rack to find.

Yep, I've been gambling the boots base item. Still no luck after 4 or 5 tries, but I'll keep at it. I left the game running overnight. :)

The funny part is that I have around 1 million gold in ATMA, and I'm not sure exactly why I've kept it there... The next time I'm muling, I'll definitely put at least a few hundred k gold in the stash.

Oh yeah, you're gonna have to try a few more times. Usually takes about 1 in 20-30 gambles in my experience. Not sure what the actual odds are.

Yup, I'm still trying. I've done maybe 15 or so by now. I'm doing full clears of every area, starting in act 1. Every time I get up to 100k gold, I go and gamble 3 sets of boots. I'm going out-of-town for two weeks tomorrow, so I hope I get one today.

My character is level 60... is that too low to gamble wyrmhide boots?

I have been working on my 1.07 Grail every now and then. Today was a now and NM was a target.

Arm of King Leoric (I didn't clear the game this far, it just came to my mind =):

And Grail status is now -1 (damn boots, at least I know where to look).

Hello there,

I was attracted and returned into 1.07 after recent discovery of souls ritual. I've got my old sorc here so I've decided to leveling up a fresh LF zon and pack of mules including BO barb and Ench sorceress. So i've discovered some interesting but very sad things about how enchant works in 1.07.

1) Fire mastery aren't increasing enchant damage for other characters and only increasing damage of the Sorc. So skill description is lying - you are buffing other characters only with the base damage of the Enchant excluding incresing from Fire Mastery. If you are buffing enchantress itself then Fire Mastery increasing the damage the same way as in modern versions. This means that 20 level of enchant buffs your other characters for 80 fire damage. It's possible to push it to 150 and even 200 at 35-40+ skill level but that's it. Due to lack of AR boosting it's very questionable if this buff even worth to use at all but if you are leveling you character in multiplayer game with mules - why not?

2) Enchant boosts damage of LF at least in stats screen but it gives 1/3 of it's effectiveness. It's a little but again - if you are leveling your amazon in multiplayer game with mules it aren't hurts making one of the mules enchantress.

Buffed with 21 lvl enchant:

tl;dr
It's not worth to level enchant sorceress in 1.07 to buff your damage except you are leveling in multiplayer game with your mules then just leveling one of your mules into enchant sorc for a some damage buff for your physical damage main character.

Welcome and thanks for sharing!

In my experience, crushing blow is so strong that enchant actually never even crossed my mind. The only cows that ever slow me down are the phys immunes in which case ctc amp, the 4 flavors of ele damage from tiamat's rebuke or most often the merc (headstriker) does the job :)

I've been doing a lot of hell trav runs, and my gear isn't really optimal for it yet but slowly improving. This latest addition is good enough that I'm probably going to stop shopping swords for my off hand. The cold and light res are very important since I don't leave when they spawn conviction, so it will help me survive. The only time I really die is when they spawn conviction + LE/CE. Larzuk was kind enough to give me 4os on it :)

I would have preferred 2barb or maybe even 30 light res as the prefix, but this is good enough to end my sword shopping imo.

Has anyone else experienced items disappearing after loading them from ATMA stash? Upon creating a game, the item is simply not there.

I haven't figured out the cause of this, although it seems to me that Set items have a bigger tendency to poof. Using backup doesn't always work, sometimes the item becomes unloadable.

IIRC I only experienced this in 1.07.

I have heard of it happening from @Silvio415 but can't recall it happening to myself. I keep so much random junk though, that if it wasn't an item that i'm specifically looking to wear and remember making I wouldn't ever know.

Inbetween occasional D2 time traveling I got hit in the head and pondered, what kind of experience D2C 1.07 would be to clear all difficulty levels untwinked. I managed to convince a friend of mine to join in, and we have been playing it slowly over time. We cleared normal not too long ago, but this weekend finally leveled up enough we both hit 30 so I can teach my friend a bit how whirlwind works as they never had played a barbarian before in D2 ever. And gave me opportunity to sort out some of the mules and see what we can just throw away or cube gems or something.

We went to act1, hostiled, I went first to the bridge, waited right at the edge and my friend accidentally clicked me and... banished the host client to the shadow realm for lack of better description. On his screen, my amazon completely vanished from the game while on my screen he just stopped just outside of town. I first assumed he just hit the good old black screen that either fixes itself or might require rejoining, but the mule clients were working fine, I could move my amazon fine around only to be informed I was not shown even in the party screen nor there was any message about it. I checked one of the muleclients and that was indeed the case. I could still move around as amazon, which was the host all the way to town but NPCs were gone and so were the mules. Party screen and such showed everything just fine, and I could still go run around act1 without any problems but in every other client, that amazon was just gone. The really interesting part? Save & exit did nothing on the host client and I had to use task manager to kill the process before rehosting the game. (And of course left with the other clients first.)

It certainly made me wonder did we discover some really bizarre once-in-a-lifetime never-to-be-replicated frame perfect bug that exists only in 1.07 TCP\IP games or what that was even about.
