Well, I'm running hell diablo w/556%, looking for: Wall of the Eyeless, Skin of the Vipermagi, and (especially) Suicide Branch (ohhh...and another pair of Magefists). The XP is nice as well, but its really the chance to get those items that I'm after (no luck yet)...

Kimppi, the comment on large charms wasn't directed at you so much as to all the new 1.07 players...I often see people post about how they never bother to pickup and check large charms in later patches, but 1.07 large charms are significantly better potentially than those from later patches, and it would be a shame to miss out on a great charm because of bad habits...

BTW, I'm pretty sure it takes clvl96 to get +3 skilltab on lesser blood gloves, but I really need to test the potential on the greater recipies...I should do that today...

Level 96 in 1.07? Yeah....no....
You are so absolutely right...why stop at 96? I see NO reason not to get to 99, if your object is crafting... As Kestegs has suggested, the crippling XP penalties on characters over lvl90 were introduced in 1.10, so there is no real obstacle to getting there, you just have to be willing to work at it, and it is NOWHERE near the grind it is post-1.09...

@Kimppi: Like I said earlier, I'm pretty sure you need clvl96 (crafting lvl63) to get +3 skilltab on lesser blood gloves...and you CAN'T get +3 skilltab on lesser caster gloves, even at clvl99. However, this is reversed on the greater recipies: greater blood gloves CANNOT get +3 skilltab, while greater caster gloves CAN, at ANY clvl (as alvl will be controlled entirely by qlvl). The problem with the greater crafts is that the bases can't drop or be shopped, they must be racked or (shudder) gambled...and armor crafts CAN'T be recrafted!

@Snooker: I hope to get done soon... I can answer your specific question, however. If you have a 1.07 GMB, then by all means craft on it! While I'm pretty sure the GMB CAN'T get +3 bowtab as an affix, while the Hydra Bow CAN, it will also get a +bowtab automod (that will stack with any affix +skills). Of course, only a Zon can use it...the Hydra Bow can be used by any class or a merc, and it does have a qlvl advantage that enables a few more affixes (like +3 bowtab), but they both should be able to get valkyrie's, cruel, master's(+AR/ED), fools, screaming(grinding), and of evisceration... So, I recently found a 1.07 Raven Claw and had some questions . . . I’m sure they’ve been answered many times . . . probably even in this thread . . . but my searching isn’t getting me anywhere good so here it goes:

1). What is the exploding arrow level in 1.07?
2). Does the exploding arrow level change when brought forward?
3). Is the 1.09 Raven Claw the same as the 1.07 Raven Claw?

Yes, I really couldn’t find the answers to these questions myself :dontknow: . . . well that’s not true . . . I found answers . . . but they were all different . . . figured you guys would know the right answers :thumbup: . Thanks!

1) Not sure but lets say i prefer other bows.
2) and 3) Yes the Raven found in 1.07 will behave the same as 1.09 although i dont remember the level of exploding arrow.

I wasn't aware that modding the game was legit, so nevermind my previous comment.

The ONLY legit mods are those that are FAM(forum accepted mods)...the only FAM that applies to 1.07 is the modified .dll allowing self-MP. If this is what you're referring to, that issue is LONG resolved, and if you have an issue with it you should PM Thyiad...

In any case, not everyone who MPs in 1.07 uses the modded .dll...I for one MP using multiple computers and the built-in functionality that has been present in D2 since v1.0...

If this is NOT what you're referring to, then please elaborate on your statement...

To quote Disco-Neck Ted: Repusz's guide suggests that 1.07 crafting uses ilvl or qlvl in determining alvl differently from later versions by taking the higher of the two.

They can be crafted at least as early as level 92.

Its no different in later patches: "if (qlvl>ilvl) then (ilvl=qlvl)" is the second statement in the affix level formula.

Did you craft +3 skilltab gloves @ lvl92? Can I see the readout please? (NOT being arguementative, trying to nail down the facts on 1.07 crafting...)

I have crafted pairs twice at level 92. My barb is now 95 (players 1 other
than MP on an old OS 9 Mac). I took a look at one of the pairs of gloves
which had been pulled forward to OS X and 1.13 and was a bit freaked out by
what I saw. In looking at the readout in Go Mule, it is buggy with an ilvl=99.
After some research on the 1.07 board at my other main forum, I have seen a readout from another poster who had similar results at level 87 which is
also included.

My base gloves were originally gambled by my then level 92 barb and then
subsequently crafted (and now live in 1.13). Here is the Go Mule readout of one of my pairs of gloves:

I leveled my barb for council runs and he is clvl 87 at this moment... all my craft are logicaly ilvl57 (87*0.66), althougt the hydra bows I buy (for my cowing zon) are ilvl92.
But sometimes (it happened 2 times) the ilvl of crafted item is 99, and I don't understand why, is it a bug ?

levels. It has to be a bugged result is all that I can conclude.

@LHtB: DON'T show that shield to Larzuk expecting 3 sox!! It will get 1...Larzuk puts 1 hole in rares, sets, and uniques, 3(or max, if <3) in crafts, 1-4 in blues, and max sox in white/greys (which is often different than max sox in later patches...). Gratz on the skiller...pity about the DA tab, but woot indeed on the suffix! Nice shoes, btw :thumbsup: If you would be interested, I routinely sell stuff to charsi that would be nice upgrades for you...happy to toss a few itamz into a stash and toss it to you gratz...

@SideShowBob: thanks muchly for sharing that info...I've seen/heard of that happening before, but have never had it happen personally. No idea why, but sometimes crafts bug with ilvl99...and can thus get ANY affix that can spawn on the base item. Those are some very, very nice gloves, BTW...hope to roll some like that myself, once I finally level up enough to do so without having to hope for a glitch:wink:

Yes please, got anything to help an act5 merc survive? (even the Council in NM eat him)

I'm slowing levelling on Minion runs atm (Baal hurts too much) I think I'm too low level to get the full EXP from them, and the merc has become expensive to revive
I still have no MPK rings, but 3/5 of my last session came with "of the Apprentice" :(

And boo on 1 os for rares, thanks for warning me though

Man people are fast! My shields are all shopped from Charsi in Act 1 Hell. A cromatic tower shield will get up to 87 resist all with 3 pdiamonds, and they pop up very frequently. My only skiller also happens to be a defensive aura skiller, yay for sucking!
