Bugged Death's Guard Sash

This was found as a regular Death's Sash in 1.03 and it turned into some kind of Iratha set hybrid when I brought it forward... It's still in classic so it's a surprisingly useful hybrid, probably the only really useful full set in classic, and adding CBF to it isn't bad at all.

Is this bug known/normal/repeatable ?

hope this thread is of interest and this isn't something everyone just knows about :)

That can happen when bringing forward items, and not stopping by 1.07 first. I've had plenty of those encounters, none as useful as this though. And for LoD, utterly useless.

I see! So we can assume this is repeatable if done in the same way.

Seeing the same set piece on 3 different items is definitely not what I expected. I wonder if I can make the game give me a few Tarnhelm rings :)

Edit: Sigons Shield rings... How can we make this happen?!?

so what about angelic's rings for AR?

I'm going to try and find the vast majority of set items to see what happens if you bring them forward :)

Other than that, I think I might send Helvete a PM when/if I come across something else I've not come across before. Dude seems to know more than google about this game!

I reckon the only items really worth it would be the ones which replace an item slot you really don't want to occupy. Like if going for +skills you might want to use a shield which pretends it's a set amulet. Or a belt or boots for that matter.

EDIT: I also doubt these would get the item bonuses for wearing multiple pieces, as they were invented in 1.07 for the classic sets and in 1.10 for the expansion sets.

Even though I've never done it, time traveling is one of the coolest things about D2. Also, the results of bringing the items forward are so interesting sometimes.

I can confirm that my Iratha's death's sash does get the Iratha bonuses from multiple items in 1.13c

Totally agree. All this stuff makes the whole experience so much deeper. I've spent such a huge amount of time trying to find out what patch & conditions that hybrid unique items dropped such as Wizardspike gloves, these strange things that legitimately exist in the game are fascinating to me.

Someone on dii.net posted a hybrid unique belt once (not the bugged belt seen on eu realms), I wish I could find the thread but no idea how to trace it.

Wow, that's unexpected! However, that item fills the same item slot. I haven't tested, but I predict that the two set rings would only be able to spawn as two "hybrid" items (for lack of a better term). If they spawn as each other or as their normal version, no biggie, but if they spawn as something interesting, that would be very cool.

However, as far as rings go, nothing really beats lvl 1 req SoJs (in classic) or +37mpk rings (in LoD). Or the beta BKWB for that matter.

After playing builds for almost all the normal sets, my dream would be to have the weapons in any other item slot. Off hand ED, AR +skills, and allowing you to use a weapon that actually does damage..

Vidala's Barb, Isenhart Lightbrand gloves  Civerb Cudgel, Cleglaw tooth anything else.. :)

I think there are too many moving parts to know what adjustments would be ideal. Best to just keep all the sets and move them forward.

Also curious how things like Cleglaw's Tooth would behave. Off weapon 50% deadly strike would be pretty cool.

Surely an Iratha's sorc with the Deaths Belt and Sigons Shield would be nigh on indestructible in classic? As long as you could pick up a decent fcr breakpoint and get your 85% resists.

edit: Just looked at a build and a 20/30 rare shield is pretty normal. I guess the benefit is just the +1 skill.

Would be hilarious if you could move every piece of a set to a different slot, but keep it occupying the same cohort of item slots
