You work in IT? As that sounds right like what I hear people say about working in IT.Warning rant incoming:
Things at work are going great again. Not. People trying to make me do their work once again (and succeeding at it). Project manager was all like "I'm gonna be strict and make them do their work.". So i was happy to finally be backed up by the manager. Ofc they made a mess of things. If they even did the work that is.
So Monday collegue was like "Hey Cyrax you have time don't you? I have a nice job for you.". Me (thinking i'd be backed up by the manager): "No thanks, that's not my job.". Yesterday, just before going home the project manager appears at my desk. Ohoh. I think i know what's coming. Project manager: "Cyrax, you have time don't you? Could you do this as X doesn't have the time to do it.". Me: "I thought you were gonna be strict about this?". Him: "Uhm, yeah i am. This'll just be a one time thing. Once the administration is back as it should be they really will have to do it themselves.". Me (with much sarcasm): "One time thing. Right.".
So this morning when i got to work i have an email from the collegue that should've done the job. That said that the project manager asked me to do this and that she hoped i would do this. She hoped. Like i have a choice if she talks my manager into making me do this.
All in all that took me just about the entire morning to do. And then not even the entire job is done. Some things were such a mess i couldn't make heads or tails of it. So i compiled a long email with what i've done and what mess they can figure out themselves.
Ok with that out of the way some more uplifting news. The collegue with the bad prognoses apparently talked to his oncologist and all of a sudden his perspective got a whole lot better. Apparently his condition is stable and that could remain so for years. Very weird such a shift in just a few days, but at least it's moving from bad to less bad instead of the other way around.
And some personal succes. Yesterday i finished GoW Ultimate Edition on casual difficulty (the easiest one). Shame i don't know anyone else who has this console/game as it would be fun to play with a friend. Still i had fun playing. I'll definately try this on a higher difficulty, although i'm not sure if that'll be right away. Could be i give Destiny a try first.
Not like working in our IT though. They don't do the jobs they're supposed to do and can't even be bothered to reply to questions.
If you're not already doing this, write everything down. How much time wasted on other jobs, how you can't do your work because being busy doing someone elses. Hitting people with facts sometimes works. It worked for me with a doctor (though I've also encountered a doctor you could hit with a sledge hammer and he'd wonder what that breeze was).
