OK guys - and girls? - looks like we aren't going to be lynching anyone today, but how do we feel about omg's wonderfully weird role-claim post? If it was down to me, I'd be suspicious of the possibility that we are being set up for a really big fall but I'm happy to go with what you guys think. Is that OK?

Noodle's early, substantial post was a bit odd - for Noodle - but I guess he is just trying to avoid a "Vote2 Lurker Award". Seems natural enough. Doesn't matter though, I always suspect Noodle. :nod:

As seeming OMG's play style last game, I really don't know what to think. I also, don't understand why we WOULDN'T keep the role he had secret, as he just has to stay alive to win the game. I would think OMG would be fine with taking a role like this, as he can pretend to be whom ever he wants to be. What's done is done though, and I can't say for certainty if he's telling the truth. Maybe a confirmation from an investigation?

Gary's Olde Town Tavern was the Cheers' rival bar. I could see a Gary character as a Godfather role. Melville's Seafood was the restaurant above the bar, but I don't remember them being as adversarial as the Olde Town Tavern.

The fact is that neutrals are not town and they never will be.

But the Survivor is about as neutral as it gets. Other neutrals tend to give off a anti-town vibe. The SK kills, the VI misleads, etc. I'm literally just neutral towards all factions.

No free win. Just protection bat for bus drivers and vote #2 when we decide your services aren't required anymore.

I'm Al. You could lynch me now I suppose. You could even use Vote 2 to get rid of me. But as it stands, I am neutral towards town and mafia. Like I said to frozzz, if you think I'm going to be a key factor in whether you win or lose, you should probably see how the game progresses first, especially since as it stands, all 5/6/7+ mafia are still up and running. Honestly, if I'm voting as an anti-town on the last day, just take it as a sign that you guys did a terrible job of scum hunting and/or mafia got extremely lucky.

But like I said, I will be playing as a VT for the most part. I'll take part in discussions and help weed out scum. If you guys lose with a survivor siding with the town, it's your own loss. Granted, I did just save your cop one potentially wasted investigation, and instead of playing as the greedy Survivor (I'm an important PR, save me!), I'm now letting your doc know he can pick better targets. I suppose everyone could capitalize on this situation by just lynching me out, but my kindness should be taken into consideration, no? Mercy and compassion for the time being, please. I saved your PRs some actions, it's worth the trade-off that I may eventually back-stab you if you do a terrible job as a town, yes?

I wonder if the plus one still refers to a voting lock and it just wasn't reiterated for that section. Regardless of which one, only with an investigation result would vote 2 likely be successful.

While I think this is the most sound voice of reason, I also feel like you're subtly attempting to tell the town to not bother trying for Vote 2 without some hard evidence backing it up. Even should Vote 2 fail (which it likely will!), we should still attempt it every day, as it gives us vital information for scum hunting.

Q&A#4. There is no greater conspiracy. But if the cop wants to try me on, GO FOR IT. Like I've already said, with a game size this big, I can try to coast by for ~15 turns, but chances are I'll get lynched or NKed much earlier (especially with 2 damn possible lynches a day), and a confession at that point isn't going to met with welcomed hands. I could have played as an important PR and breadcrumbed not-so-subtle hints every now and then to get the doc on me at night, but that would also garner attention from investigative roles and mafia alike. Here's an idea: just imagine yourself try staying alive in a game this size with a max lynch of 2 per day, and get back to me if you would still try to play as a super neutral super hidden character that just tries to coast through until the very end.

Well, OMG does bring up a good point, if he is not lying, we can forget about him like your disfigured son chained up in the basement whose only sees light when you go to feed him. This gives us, one less vote to waste ... and I wouldn't really say we have an n-1 chance, b/c now the mafia also has that advantage as well - again, level playing field.

It's tough, but w/ two votes ... come time that there is not 2 people to vote for w/ great certainty, I would give it to him.

Better that I let you know now then later, amirite? If you're losing SO BADLY that I deem it that it's no longer tasteful to side with the town, then by all means, you know what I intend to do. However, as long as it seems the town still has a solid chance of winning, I am as good as the next VT. I have the power of vote, and I will use it to help secure any lynches that mafia try to fight off.

That's the trap with neutrals. "Yeah, we can just lynch him tomorrow. Or the day after that." And so-on, so-forth. The thing is, you should always have an idea of who is scum. You'll often times be wrong, but you won't know until the flip happens or someone comes forth with information. You should always have an idea of who you want to see lynched. If you don't, then you're not playing like a townie - suspicious of everyone. In this game, everyone is guilty until proven innocent.

I'm pretty sure that if you played as Jimmy the crippled again, people would not be too pleased. But you did say it yourself, if it comes down to a crucial moment you will turn on us which is not really a risk I would be willing to take.

The problem here comes down to one key fact - if the game gets close, we will lose if you are alive. This basically means that in most situations, we lose one day earlier now than if you were gone. Most games tend to come down to the last few people, and I don't think this occurs because we "do a terrible job as a town." That is just how mafia tends to work.

I do think you are telling the truth, but I don't think it is a good idea to keep you around to the end of the game.
