The Pandemonium Event is a multi-stage bonus quest added in v1.10. It can only be undertaken on the Battle.net realms, and is not functional in Single Player or LAN games.  This quest culminates with a massive battle against souped up versions of Diablo, Baal, and Mephisto, along with the minions they summon, in a new version of the town Tristram. This struggle is by far the most difficult one in the game, and is the only way to obtain the Hellfire Torch unique large charm.

There are several steps you must complete in order to reach Uber Tristram.

1. PERM YOUR GAME FOR 5-10 MINUTES! To perm you just idle the game for 5-10 minutes. The reason you perm the game is to give you a little bit of time if the game does get a connection intturuption or if you die to get back into the game and get your torch.
Keys
2. All character must be in act5 hell diff but do NOT have to kill baal.
The first step is to gather the three keys required to open the first of the red portals. The Keys of Hate, Terror, and Destruction are required, and can only be found from certain boss monsters, and only on Hell difficulty. Get the Key of Terror from The Countess, the key of Hate from The Summoner, and the Key of Destruction from Nihlathak. It's a good idea to have 3 of each key before beginning the second stage of the Pandemonium Event, for reasons that will be explained below.

3. You will have to search for keys. Keys drop from 3 people in the game: The Countess in the Black Marsh Tower in act 1, The Summoner in the Arcane Sancturay in act 2 and from Nihl in the Halls of Vought in act5. All three of these villians have specific things about them that make them dangerous:
The keys look identical, and can only be discerned between by hovering on them to see their name.

The Countess:
Key of Terror
IMO the hardest thing about her is her minions she has surrounding her. She is sometimes capable of having auras, I have seen Might being used. This will be bad when the 10 or so minions come running at you at full speed. The Countess in general i dont have any problems with her and her minions are Immune to Cold. A light sorc would take quick control of her. She drops the Key of Terror

The Summoner:
These are dropped by The Countess, located in the Ruined Tower in the Black Marsh, Act One. She is commonly run for her rune drops, and will drop a Key of Terror every now and then, but only on Hell difficulty.
Finding him is a pain if ur legit about it. Summoner being the easiest IMO has no immunes he is a sorceress and with +cold and fire with res you will do fine. Sometimes there are hordes of Minions to contend with they are often Cold Immune and Fire Immune. He drops the Key of Hate

Nihlathak
Key of Hate
Nihl as i refer to him as is by far the hardest. He is Lite immune but not very often. He is most dangerous from his Corpse Explosion. I have seen Trap Sins with Death Sentry work best against him or a hammerdin with natures peace or any pally with redemption aura (phoneix runeword). this way he has no bodys to explode. Nihl drops the Key of Distruction.

**I advise you to get 3 key sets which is 1 of every key three times. that way you will be able to get all the organs beacuse when making the portals it is random on which portal pops up. Each Set Looks Like THIS Also When Making the town Portals Spread Them out**
The Summoner drops this one. He's found at the end of one of the four points of the Arcane Sanctuary, in Act Two.

4. Take the keys you have got from the above super uniques and put them in ur cube 3 at a time. and open the portals, the portals that open are:
Key of Destruction
Kill Lilith - she looks like andy and is sometimes refered to as Uber Andy. she is very powerful and her poision is very dangerous. be sure to have lots of psn res and antidotes as you will lose lots of health if you dont. IMO her Poison Spray is her deadliest attack. A smiter is best when fighting her. She appears in the Matrons Den. She drops Diablos Horn
Nihlathak drops this key. He's found at one end of the four-pointed Halls of Vaught, the lowest of the three Halls levels reached through Anya's portal in Harrogath, in Act Five.

Kill Uber Duriel - he is by far the easiest, usually spawning close to the waypoint and tp at the Forgotton Sands, I've had on occasion had to look for him around the Forgotten Sands. He uses the aura Holy Freeze which i would say makes him kinda dangerous. he slows you down, with a ias smiter or a a really well built sorc you can easily take him down. He drops Baals Eye.

Kill Uber Izzual *i dont have a pic of izzy but he looks like izzy*- By far the worst only due to the fact where he spawns in the Furnace of Pain he may have pit lords with res to everything except physical dmg, thoes witches who curse you to lower defence or he can have Oblivion Knights which can Iron Madien (IM) you and kill you or ur merc. Izzy is able to teleport and is quite strong. but if you are able to kill his minions he will fall easily. Smiter again is best build for this villian. He drops Mephistos Brain.
Opening the Red Portals
5. After you have picked up each organ (eye, horn and brain) this is now called an organ set. with this you are able to create UBER TRISTRAM. In uber tristram you will face Uber Diablo, Uber Baal and Uber Mephisto. each are dangerous in their own ways.
Once you have the keys, stand in Harrogath, on Hell difficulty, place one of each in your Horadric Cube and convert them. A red portal will open to one of three locations; the Matron's Den, the Forgotten Sands, or the Furnace of Pain. Which portal opens first is random, but if you do all three in the same game you will not get the same one twice. For this reason it's recommended that you have 9 keys to begin with, 3 of each type, so you can do them all in the same game.

Uber Baal: he has all of Baals original moves but is much MUCH faster. He casts Mana Rift which sucks for any character unless you have med or Leach Mana. this makes Baal difficult to kill, he regenerates Life at an alarming rate. He casts a Curse that drops ur def by 95% and if your unlucky he can duplicate himself which makes him even more dangerous. a good way to face baal himself is to go behind this house and have him teleport to you. easily defeated with a Smiter with mana pots.
It's also recommended that you stand in different places so you'll spread out the three portals, so they don't overlap and make selecting the correct one difficult. You'll be adding a 4th portal once you've completed these three, to Uber Tristram, so save room.

Pandemonium Diablo: *he is called this to make a common difference from the one which dropps the anni* Much stronger and Faster than the orginal i feel is much more of a threat than baal for some reasons... One. his bone prision may affect you from hitting anything. two. His Armagedon is much stronger and is able to kill you in seconds if you stand in it. Third and probably the worst he spawns Minions. Pitlods with res to everything except physical damage, Dark lords and spectars which are both immune to Physical dmg. *Best char is a Smiter against Pandemonium Diablo*. I would look into having another character help you with the other minions that he spawns. I usually use my Light Sorc to kill him and his minions minus pit lords.
The Matron's Den
Uber Mephisto: IMO and most others *if not all*. His worst attack is an aura he uses, Conviction. This aura level is so high it can take ur res down to the negitives if you have the bare minimumof 75. He uses Blizzard, Litghtning and he is 110 res to lite dmg and psn dmg. he spawns lots of minions which also can be used to make an uber leveling game. he spawns minions by the second, he spawns these minons when you get close to him. These include: Mages (cold, psn, fire, lite), Archers with major psn dmg and melee skeletons. Mixed with his conviction is not a good combination for players. *Smiter is best char to Uber Mephisto* When i faced the three i went to get mephisto himself and ran around to *the baal house picture* to face the other two. This makes it easier to set up and uber and also to face all three.
This level is reminiscent of the Forgotten Tower in layout. Within it you will find Lilith, sometimes referred to as "Uber Andariel." She looks just like Andariel, the act one quest boss, and uses her same attacks, but to much more effect. Her poison spray is especially dangerous, and characters will want to gear up with heavy poison resistance and some poison antidotes as well.

If you are able to kill all three without dying GREAT JOB! You have successfully defeated everything for an uber trist game. And now you get a Unique Large Charm. When identified you will get a Torch. The stats of this torch are as follow:
Lilith drops Diablo's Horn, one of the three items required to open a portal to Uber Tristram.

Required Level: 75
The Forgotten Sands
25% Chance To Cast level 10 Firestorm* On Striking
+3 to random character class skills (varies)
+10-20 To All Atributes (varies)
All Resistances +10-20 (varies)
+8 to light radius
Level 30 Hydra (10 charges)
(Only Spawns In Patch 1.11 or later)
*This was taken from The Arreat Summit Item Section*

Also, Standard Of Heros or SOH's drop. multiple if you are in a game with more than one person. It looks like this. It is unknown of what it is used for, there are many different rumors around beacuse the rlvl is: 90. But i believe it doesnt do anything.
This level is identical to the Canyon of the Magi, the last waypoint of Act Two.  Here you will find Uber Duriel roaming free. He's a bigger, nastier version of Duriel, the Act Two boss, and is equipped with the same Holy Freeze Aura and other attacks.

Uber Duriel drops Baals Eye, one of the three items required to open a portal to Uber Tristram.

The Furnace of Pain
Glitched Uber Leveling
The third red portal area is the Furnace of Pain, an area identical to the three "Pit" areas reached from the red portals found in the surface areas of Act Five. Here you will find Uber Izual, a beefed up version of the SuperUnique quest monster Izual, found in the Plains of Despair in Act Four.

Well, im sure u know about uber trist and how mephisto spawns minions when some1 joins and walks near him. well uber trist leveling is a way to gain tons of levels using that same concept.
Uber Izual can teleport, and often spawns with some very nasty minions. He drops Mephisto's Brain,  one of the three items required to open a portal to Uber Tristram.

The 1st thing you will need to do is PERM your game. To perm you stand in the game for 5-10 mins to allow if the game drops due to a c/i or you die and want to rejoin that it won’t disappear. This way you wont lose your organ set. After you've done that and opened the portal, the next thing is to kill Diablo and Baal. After they are taken out. You must trap meph. In order for uber trist glitch to work he has to be in this house **Meph’s House ** This is the last house furthest away from the portal.
Uber Tristram
TRIGGER - the person who will stand where you've trapped meph *usuially in the house at the bottom in the middle*. Triggers job is to stand near meph to get guys spawned but far enough away to not get killed by his blizzard. **Trigger stands here**
To create a red portal to Uber Tristram, place Diablo's Horn, Baal's Eye, and Mephisto's Brain in the Horadric Cube, and transmute them while standing in Harrogath in a Hell difficulty game. A red portal will open, the fourth in that area if you've done them all in the same game. It takes you to Uber Tristram, where the real fun begins.

TARGET - the person who has the monsters spawn on them when the TRIGGER stands near meph. *Usually a high level hammerdin* target is the last person to join an uber trist game. if a char joins after the hammerdins, then u get 1 hammerdin to leave and the char who joined. when the char re-joins then you can then call the hammerdin back.
Uber Tristram has the same layout as regular Tristram, though the entry portal appears towards the north of town, rather than in the far eastern corner. Scattered through the center of town are Uber Mephisto, Uber Baal, and Pandemonium Diablo (so named because Uber Diablo was already used in a bonus quest). They are massively harder than their usual act boss selves, boosted by new abilities and much higher hit points, defense, damage, and more. They are also able to summon minions at regular intervals, further complicating things for intrepid adventurers.

BW'er - a Necromancer who uses Bone Wall (BW) to spawn more creatures *this is referred to as glitching trist.* The necro puts a single BW between the fire at the north and the west wall. **BW SS Here** You don’t need a trigger if your using this bone wall technique the bone wall will spawn the minions. However, if the spawns don’t immediately come you may have to stand near meph for a second then go back.
Uber Baal
LEACHERS - are low level to mid level characters who don’t do anything except stand in trist and gain mass amount of experience. *they stand in the enclosed area by the fire at the north end. **Where LEACHERS STAND** They are able to go from level 1-40 if glitch is done right before the 1st reset.
He possesses all of regular Baal's attacks and more, including Mana Rift, Hoarfrost, Incineration Nova, and more. Check the Uber Baal page for more details. He can also teleport and duplicate himself.

SPINNERS/HDIN - You get two/three hammerdins *two are enuff but 3 are the best idea due to the immense damage that they will sustain* make sure 1 is using Concentration and the other uses cleansing MEDITATION IS A MUST!! The "SPIN Area" which is where they spam their hammers, there is a specific spot for this. Usually stand to the side away from the leach area so the leachers don’t die. **Spinning Area**
Pandemonium Diablo
RESET- Is when everyone gets out of trist when the walls start to disappear. They disappear due to the mass lag that has started to form in the game. At reset everyone goes out of tristram and they can stand there for 20seconds. This is to allow Trist to lose the lag created from the spamming of spells. Once that’s done, you may go back to trist and do the exact same thing over again.
He is much stronger and faster than regular Diablo, and uses his Bone Prison and Firestorm skills to lethal effect. He can cast Armageddon, the Druid skill, raining fire down on all his attackers, and frequently summons a variety of nasty monster minions during the battle. See the Pandemonium Diablo page for more details and full stats.

When you feel you've gone as far as you want usually I only go till 90 in uber trists then baal runs are better. Then you kill Mephisto. REMEBER!!!! Killing the ubers are easier when there are one maybe two characters in the game.
Note that this is not Uber Diablo, who spawns as part of another bonus quest and drops the Annihilus Charm.

Uber Mephisto
Uber Mephisto is a deadlier version of himself. He comes with a very high level Conviction aura which will reduce maxed resistances to negative values, and a variety of elemental attacks including Blizzard and Lightning. His resistances are very high as well, and he regularly spawns elemental minions such as Skeleton Mages and Archers.

Rewards
The principle reward for this mission is the Hellfire Torch, a unique large charm that can only be obtained from this quest. Like the other unique charms, characters can only hold one of each at a time, so you'll want to bring in a character who does not have one to pick up the prize.
* Hellfire Torch unique large charm
* +10-20 To All Attributes
* All Resistances +10-20
* +3 to random character class skills
* 25% Chance To Cast level 10 Firestorm On Striking
* Level 30 Hydra (10 charges)
* +8 to light radius
* Required Level: 75
In addition to the Hellfire Torch charm, one Standard of Heroes item drops for each character in the game. These items do not yet have any function, but rumors abound about what they might do in some future version of the game.
Besides the items, it's possible to gain a tremendous amount of experience in Uber Tristram, by killing the various minions the uber bosses spawn.  Players have found that this is a great way to power level lower level characters. These characters are of no use in the battle and must stay well out of the way or risk instant death, but by being in the area and in the party, they will enjoy enormous shared experience bonuses. Reports of leveling from 1 to 80 or even 90 in a couple of hours spent in this area are not uncommon.  This exploit requires a number of very powerful characters doing the tanking and killing, but with teamwork it's quite possible.

Revision as of 13:35, 3 March 2008

The Pandemonium Event is a multi-stage bonus quest added in v1.10. It can only be undertaken on the Battle.net realms, and is not functional in Single Player or LAN games. This quest culminates with a massive battle against souped up versions of Diablo, Baal, and Mephisto, along with the minions they summon, in a new version of the town Tristram. This struggle is by far the most difficult one in the game, and is the only way to obtain the Hellfire Torch unique large charm.

There are several steps you must complete in order to reach Uber Tristram.

Keys

Quest-3keys.jpg

The first step is to gather the three keys required to open the first of the red portals. The Keys of Hate, Terror, and Destruction are required, and can only be found from certain boss monsters, and only on Hell difficulty. Get the Key of Terror from The Countess, the key of Hate from The Summoner, and the Key of Destruction from Nihlathak. It's a good idea to have 3 of each key before beginning the second stage of the Pandemonium Event, for reasons that will be explained below.

The keys look identical, and can only be discerned between by hovering on them to see their name.

Key of Terror

These are dropped by The Countess, located in the Ruined Tower in the Black Marsh, Act One. She is commonly run for her rune drops, and will drop a Key of Terror every now and then, but only on Hell difficulty.

Key of Hate

The Summoner drops this one. He's found at the end of one of the four points of the Arcane Sanctuary, in Act Two.

Key of Destruction

Nihlathak drops this key. He's found at one end of the four-pointed Halls of Vaught, the lowest of the three Halls levels reached through Anya's portal in Harrogath, in Act Five.

Opening the Red Portals

Quest-3keys2.jpg

Once you have the keys, stand in Harrogath, on Hell difficulty, place one of each in your Horadric Cube and convert them. A red portal will open to one of three locations; the Matron's Den, the Forgotten Sands, or the Furnace of Pain. Which portal opens first is random, but if you do all three in the same game you will not get the same one twice. For this reason it's recommended that you have 9 keys to begin with, 3 of each type, so you can do them all in the same game.

It's also recommended that you stand in different places so you'll spread out the three portals, so they don't overlap and make selecting the correct one difficult. You'll be adding a 4th portal once you've completed these three, to Uber Tristram, so save room.

The Matron's Den

This level is reminiscent of the Forgotten Tower in layout. Within it you will find Lilith, sometimes referred to as "Uber Andariel." She looks just like Andariel, the act one quest boss, and uses her same attacks, but to much more effect. Her poison spray is especially dangerous, and characters will want to gear up with heavy poison resistance and some poison antidotes as well.

Lilith drops Diablo's Horn, one of the three items required to open a portal to Uber Tristram.

The Forgotten Sands

This level is identical to the Canyon of the Magi, the last waypoint of Act Two. Here you will find Uber Duriel roaming free. He's a bigger, nastier version of Duriel, the Act Two boss, and is equipped with the same Holy Freeze Aura and other attacks.

Uber Duriel drops Baals Eye, one of the three items required to open a portal to Uber Tristram.

The Furnace of Pain

The third red portal area is the Furnace of Pain, an area identical to the three "Pit" areas reached from the red portals found in the surface areas of Act Five. Here you will find Uber Izual, a beefed up version of the SuperUnique quest monster Izual, found in the Plains of Despair in Act Four.

Uber Izual can teleport, and often spawns with some very nasty minions. He drops Mephisto's Brain, one of the three items required to open a portal to Uber Tristram.

Uber Tristram

To create a red portal to Uber Tristram, place Diablo's Horn, Baal's Eye, and Mephisto's Brain in the Horadric Cube, and transmute them while standing in Harrogath in a Hell difficulty game. A red portal will open, the fourth in that area if you've done them all in the same game. It takes you to Uber Tristram, where the real fun begins.

Uber Baal

He possesses all of regular Baal's attacks and more, including Mana Rift, Hoarfrost, Incineration Nova, and more. Check the Uber Baal page for more details. He can also teleport and duplicate himself.

Pandemonium Diablo

He is much stronger and faster than regular Diablo, and uses his Bone Prison and Firestorm skills to lethal effect. He can cast Armageddon, the Druid skill, raining fire down on all his attackers, and frequently summons a variety of nasty monster minions during the battle. See the Pandemonium Diablo page for more details and full stats.

Note that this is not Uber Diablo, who spawns as part of another bonus quest and drops the Annihilus Charm.

Uber Mephisto

Mephisto's Minions

 • All Resistances +10-20
 • +3 to random character class skills
 • 25% Chance To Cast level 10 Firestorm On Striking
 • Level 30 Hydra (10 charges)
 • +8 to light radius
 • Required Level: 75
Standard-of-heroes.jpg

In addition to the Hellfire Torch charm, one Standard of Heroes item drops for each character in the game. These items do not yet have any function, but rumors abound about what they might do in some future version of the game.

Besides the items, it's possible to gain a tremendous amount of experience in Uber Tristram, by killing the various minions the uber bosses spawn. Players have found that this is a great way to power level lower level characters. These characters are of no use in the battle and must stay well out of the way or risk instant death, but by being in the area and in the party, they will enjoy enormous shared experience bonuses.
