That's pretty crazy that he has enough mdr to negate venom. What is your venom damage? And what else is he using other than gbane?
If he name locks you just tele 2.5 screens away and he'll lose the name lock unless he goes aggressive and tries to chainlock you which is basically suicide for him.
I've been duelling a friend who has an es light sorc wearing gbane and I'm having alot of problems. He has enough pdr/mdr so that I can't physically kill him unless I can drop his eshield entirely.
If I play super aggressive I sometimes feel like I can do it but then sometimes he gets a namelock on me and 2 shots later I'm fhr locked and dead. Now I've started to hesitate and I keep getting owned all the time.
I have to keep on him all the time otherwise his mana regens and the duel goes on for ages (with me normally losing). Has anyone played a sorc like this and can share any tips on what to do? I can definitely get my tri whirls neater but once he has a namelock its hard to approach because he can maintain the lock farther than the maximum range of lightning.
On my end I can see lightnings shooting towards me and disipating before they hit. If I teleport closer its often into the path of a lightning bolt.
if you want to be sneaky, cast a poison vine charge from a carrion wind ring . the poison damage from the vine automatically does 1 damage, so it'll kill the sorc if its dropped down that low.Ya there are some setups "invincible" sorcs have which can negate all whirl/dclaw/mb damage at 1 hp. Most sorcs built on bnet are not this and get broken at 1 hp. Most attempts at these types of sorcs can also be broken with some effort: good physical damage claws + high physical damage setup, or good and prebuffed venom damage. If either of these two is high enough and the sorc is lacking in her invincible setup this will break es and kill.
however to note.. there are ways to get enough idr/mdr on these invincible sorcs to get around even the highest damage claws and venom damage. In which case you will have to break the es the way you are doing now: depleting all the mana and not letting the sorc breathe for a moment in the duel.
If you were playing a trapper or hybrid this type of sorc would not be a problem, but you are a ghost, so if you want to beat this sorc with a ghost then practice practice practice.
learn how to tele long distances while not teleporting in a straight line which can be predicted easily. learn to circle in on opponents. keep shadow master minionstacked on top of you while teleporting.
when you get a stunlock learn to continue it. learn the timing on your traps and fill in the "dead time" in between trap stun with your own mb and whirl stun, and learn how to time trap leading and trap resets during the moments your traps are creating stun, so that your opponent is in a constant state of stun throughout the whole process.
combine wof + ls in your stunlocking tactics for a very difficult to escape from stunlock. keep the stunlock going and don't let him reset the duel by escaping. keep on him. learn whirl range for triwhirls and whirl such that he can't get light hits on you while you are stunlocking/whirling at melee. (although him escaping is really the concern)
if he does escape, knowing how to follow up and reestablishing a stunlock is a good skill to practice on, because these sorcs can take a while to break if they are chugging mana pots and getting out of stunlocks.
Yes, that is how the claw Rune words are made. Any and all claws a chaos / Fury can be made in always hit 4 frame ww. When bugging (suwayyah gloves, runic boots), the IAS required is 19%. This is achieved by Fury Runic, or a fools runic with at least 20 IAS in it.1) So I have a Runic Talons and Suwayyah, I should make a Fury on the Runic and Chaos on the Suwayywah? Also, by using this 2 claws, do I already achieve 4 WW frame, or I need WSM Bugging? How much more IAS do I need to hit the 9 frame Trap Laying Speed?
100% yes2) Just to confirm for WSM bugging, so basically I put the faster claw(Runic Talons) at the boots-side, and slower claw (Suwayyah) at the glove-side, lift and replace the Suwayyah?
If instead of Fury (I assume still a Suwayyah Chaos), then your wsm will be too slow to practically hit that 9 frame trap. Chaos will hit 4 frame WW, but the Jade requires a 15% IAS jewel / Shael rune to hit the 4 frame WW (normally -10 without any IAS).3) If I were to use a Jade Talons (Wrist Sword) - for Auradins/sorcs, instead of Fury, how much IAS do I need to hit the 9 frame Trap Laying Speed? Do I still hit the 4 WW frame (with runic talons)?
MDR did not and cannot negate venom. The MDR uses the mdr bug to prevent much more damage past one, but venom will only reduce to one. It cannot kill in pvp. In terms of other gear, it was stacked with dr and Mal runes. That's pretty crazy that he has enough mdr to negate venom. What is your venom damage? And what else is he using other than gbane?
Only if stacking mdr. Without it, ES usually pops and / or they just die.ES sorcs are fairly tough for Ghosts. Poison and OW will bypass their ES, but dealing enough damage to get that last 1hp from them can be tricky.
Lay more than one WoF and do not forget to occasionally stop a WW, trap and MB again to reapply the lock up.Put it this way, I can catch him with mb in a wof, tele on top of him triwhirl him (2 tight consecutive triangles). The wof and stun will wear off and then he spams lightning at me which...hurts. He has killed me a few times like this when I'm coming out of the whirl. I'm trying to make the whirls shorter and back off earlier + set up a new stun but I don't know if its paying off. The duel just goes on longer and I still usually die in the end.
i think if you want to set up a long-period stun, using LS is a very good idea, since the traps last longer and have longer range. you can use wof initially and then transition to LS before you jump.I think part of the reason why I was losing was because I was just sloppy with setting up good stun. And then a sloppy and/or mistimed whirl or two would usually get me killed. Its easier now if I keep my whirls short and get more mbs in between wofs/whirls. I think my shadow master really helps with that cuz it machinegun mbs all over the place.
After some practice I think this sorc isn't that difficult to beat once you figure out what you can/cant get away with. Its not very forgiving if I play sloppy though.

THERE MAX, I SAID IT!
