Not really into this guide. I made a wolfbarb and there's soo much more that you can do with them itemwise that was not discussed.

A guide would post a build that made since, instead there's just this:

The Weapon-

A Wolfbarb is not tied to any specific weapon. Depending on the speed or damage you want will determine what you use. Usually you either go for the slower but more powerful or the faster and less powerful, to figure the speeds refer to TheDragoons calculator here . (Use the Normal Attack speed chart. The Feral chart is inaccurate.) Your weapon of choice would correspond to the correct -Weapon- Mastery you choose. Some weapons I would suggest are.

Lightsabre Phase Blade

Baranars Star Devil Star

Aldurs Rythm Jagged Star

Breath of the Dying:

Grisworlds Redemption Caduceus

Beast:

Azurewrath Phase Blade

DeathCleaver Berserker Axe

Why would you ever want to use lightsabre, baraners, aldurs, beast???? And hey, I know for a fact that grief is the best 1-handed weapon available for a wolfbarb, whether it's an axe or a pb.

The Armor-

For your armor slot you would want to use this as your main source of defense. Iron Skin and Shout would receive most of its defense bonus from this. Seek an armor within the defense ranges of 1500-2000+ defense with likeable mods. Some armor of choice are.

Que-Hagens Wisdom Mage/Archon Plate

Shaftstop Mesh/Boneweave Armor

Stone:

Steel Carapace Shadow Plate

Arkaine's Valor Balrog Skin

Enigma:

Stone:

Fortitude anyone? I use enigma 90% of the time and use fort the other 10%, I've never felt the need to go with stone/carapace/etc.

The Helm-

Your most obvious choice for a helm is a Wolfhowl! I really couldnt recomend another. it offers good defense, your shifting capabilities, 2-3 to Warcrys, and most importantly you only wolf attack. Belive it or not Feral Rage does help your damage and attack rating quite a bit, and has two nice additions. Life leech for PvM'ers and faster run/walk for any kinds of runners and caster killing.

The Shield-

As far as I know for all players a shield can be your best freind, PvP or PvM. As for those who like 2-handers That would only be useful as far as PvM. Refer to TheDragoons caclulator here for block speeds. However the shields I recomend are.

Sanctuary:

Spike Thorn Blade Barrier

Stormshield Monarch

Pheonix:

Stormshield is the only option here really... For casters, you'd use a 4x Lo'd etc shield.

The Gloves-

Find a sutible glove that could help in places such as life, or hit recovery, even damage on the gloves. Gloves like these.

Bloodfist Heavy/Sharkskin/Vampirebone Gloves

Soul Drainer Vambraces

Dracul's Grasp Vampirebone Gloves

Steelrend Ogre gauntlets

Dracs and bloodfists are the only options here, rends can't do anything because the dmg sucks on a wolfbarb anyways. ...soul drainers? wolfs suck pvm...

The Boots-

For those who plan on fighting runners or such you may want to find a boot with a decent run/walk %. Otherwise find mods here similar to gloves or any other helpful mod. I suggest these boots.

Waterwalks Sharkskin/Scarabshell Boots

Wartravelers Battle/Mirror Boots

Sandstorm Treks Scarabshell Boots

Gorerider War Boots/Myrmidon Greaves

The Belt-

In this slot you would need to find phsyical damage reduction here and other helpful mods such as life. The belts of choice are.

String of Ears Demonhide Sash/Spiderweb Sash

Verdungo's Hearty Cord Mithril Coil

The Rings-

The rings are very helpful for the many mods rings can give you, look for attack rating and stats here. Find some rings like these.

Bul-Kathos Wedding Band Ring

Raven Frost Ring

Wisp Projector Ring

Angelic Halo Ring

The Amulet-

The amulet should correspond with your rings, combining them for maximum stat effect. The amulets I suggest are.

The Cat's Eye Amulet

Highlords Wrath Amulet

Mara's Kaleidoscope Amulet

Angelic Wings Amulet

bolded the wtf choices. And btw, you need to hit the 86 bp if you want to go anywhere, there's no mention of that. I have a completely decked out wolfy on NL w/max block and 7-8k life depending on prebuff as well as 23k ar, 20k+ def, and decent grief damage (the only true weapon choice, botd/etc might be faster, but it can't dish out the dmg)

well, it really shouldn't be surprising to you that there are some outdated / unnecessary items in here considering if you even looked, the guide was put up back in 2004? Grief never existed.

The build was also firsthand experience from someone at the time being one of the best wolf barbs on east. ( I used to duel zero's wolf barb ) :jig:

Lastly, yeah, I can agree with you, there are some pretty wacky choices for items :prop: , but this guide wasn't made for the 1337 uber players only, obviously he listed items that the less fortunate or you could say "casual" players could get their hands on and have a fun time with the build also.

Oh, didn't see how long ago this was made...

Well, to those who know me and my NL Wolfbarb, He has sadly expired. I cant bare to delete him, the love and time i put into him was just too much. I think i sat in front of my screen for 10-15 mins and just stared. I would suggest this build to any barb that is either bored or is in need to try something new with the barbarian class.

Alas... fair the well PwnWolfbarbPwn ... i will miss your fun and entertainment you granted to me.

I make sure to keep mine intact even though I don't play NL, my wolfbarb is just too good. :)

is a grief PB really all that good for a wolfbarb? I'm currently using 4 x shaeled gris caddy but my damage sucks.

Yes, I went the axe route on mine, but even I switch to a grief pb every now and then. I learned that you need the fastest possible weapon with the highest damage, I tried out a grief pb and I was amazed. Griz caddy has such crap damage and it's kind of useless.

Grief pb is the nuts.

i take it you need a 40 ias one?

btw, beetle, you on west? if so, add me, would like to see your wolf-barby :P

*amorasavant

east. I'm not sure what the ias bp is for a pb on a wolfy, I'd have to look it up. I have a really godly like 39/398 grief pb that I'd switch to every now and then.

You should remake your wolfbarb into a sword barb instead of an axe barb. Btw, grief pb with 34ias or less will hit with 6 frames just like an ebotdz. A 35ias or more grief pb should it with 5 frames.

Edit: My fury/rabies druid has improved, we'll have to hit the pubs and team up.

Grief PB with less than 31 ias hits 8 frames.
Grief PB with 31 or more ias hits 7 frames.

When you are using the calculator you have to remember that "feralrage" is bugged, you have to use normal attack.

you might just have to come back to ladder, I can hook you up with all the basics no problem. However, it would take a very long time to remake your wolf :(

if you can get me like one of those tristam rushes, I'd be up for remaking him and decking him out with some sexy nl items.
