Universal RWM?

I ended up using the RWM in 1.10, so you can be certain I'll be using it in 1.11 too... As for the new clone challenge, I'd like to give it a try without going back to bnet, it would suck having spent an hour or more yesterday running Nihlathak to get that stupid key for nothing :p

A mass conversion! Goodness!
I can't be left behind like this!

Well, I'll wait for awhile. If this snowballs, I'll probably go the same way.
What? I'm a follower, not a leader. Anything wrong? Haha! :p

BTW, are you guys going for RWM only?
Or does it include FE-nerfed/eliminated feature?

I am with Max...mainly so I don't have to type out a reply. :D

Yeah, 3 hours here, I only wanted to mess with it with one char and she just wasn't great for the job, plus I was fairly unlucky while getting each of the keys to drop. Just think to get to tristam diablo you just got to get that key three more times. I guess its good to see some forced playing of old areas.

I really want to try the new uber bosses, I'm not even concerned about the hellfire charm, I just want a new challenge (other than dealing with bnet).

I'm probably going to install the RWD. I usually go for a "vanilla" style of gameplay, but in this case its just unlocking features that other players are getting to begin with. I don't trade anyway, so that doesn't negatively affect anything for me (I don't trade because I want to find the stuff myself, the idea of there being stuff I don't have access to really burns me).

Also, I would like to see the whole clone quest added to SP. I mean, its a whole friggin quest I'm missing out on. And a huge challenge. That could add a fair bit of gameplay for me. Now, the charm is overpowered but I'll cross that bridge when the time comes. In the mean time I'd like to take a shot at those clones.

Same goes for me. Bring on the clones. Id be for it even if you didnt get any special charm to drop. Just for the fight.

I'm surprised so many people here are supporting the RWM when I was among the few who used the RWM in 1.10. Don't be surprised if the remaining vanilla users don't trade or MP with you.

Any person who trades or plays TCPIP is not vanilla anymore, for the last couple months all of the main traders have been trading with people that use the red rune mod, and i have seen people that i know use the red rune mod in multiplayer games.

edit
although i am still going to try to get alot of trades in right now, I only have converted one character to RWM, and before i convert them all over i want to trade for some socketables.

yeah who cares about the charms. maybe just get them to drop a regular skiller for each player? At most.

I just want to kill the clones :D I want that challenge. It would make for good MP games here :)

As one of those who resisted RWM in 1.10, I suggest that this is very different because the runeword recipes are already in the files, and this runes.txt just activates them.
Maybe it's not really different, because you are still 'modifying' the files, but it feels different to me because nothing new is being coded in, so really, even if you do install it there is absolutely no difference unless you actually use it.

As I am very interested in this as it will help the SPF community by making it somewhat refreshing, somebody needs to post a guide on how to do this because I have no idea............... If you replace the runes.txt with the new one which activates the ladder only runewords will the game be changed somehow other than the aforementioned?

yeah i would like to see same thing. Some guide how to instal mods. like runes.txt or RRM. And if someone comes up with a mod to enable the portals, i will istall it too.

Important notice...

I've been lurking since the patch was released, so I suppose I should comment :)

The site owners have no problem with mods, and linking to them (with some exception). But they do not want their forums to become technical support sites for mods (e.g. installation, troubleshooting). So we will not be posting a guide on how to use RTBs new mods. Nor will I allow mod support threads.

I suggest maybe a read.me file available on the same site you download the mods.

As for me, I play HC vanilla and don't MP or trade. I will upgrade to 1.11 after I finish my current Sorc. She's in Hell A2, and I hope she makes Guardian. ;)

I apologize for the mild hijack, but this is so similar that I don't feel justified in making a new thread for it.

I would love to hear from anyone who actively trades and/or MPs who will absolutely not trade or MP with anyone who uses a mod that purely bypasses the "is on server" check for v1.11. Or, if there's anyone who will absolutely not trade/MP with people who enable the clones, but would be willing to trade/mp with people who enabled the RWs, I'd like to hear that, too.

I think this is the best way for those of us who want to trade and such with as many people as possible to discover how to do this.

Whoo! I got the Runes.txt to work in 1.11.

Expect a big 1.10 giveaway soon.

I hereby deem the runeword-enabled 1.11 patch...

Didn't read the whole thread but I'd like to reply to this guy:

I fail to see how this is different. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the only reason why they're in the txt files now because the patch is no longer serverside. And while we're at it, there is probably some other stuff in the txt files (constricting ring, etc?) that's not active either.

Look at it however you want, if you play a RWM you play a RWM. The situation is unchanged. There are runewords on b.net that you don't have on SP. The only thing that's changed is that people are now pissed at blizzard because they feel slighted and might be more willing to ignore their "rules".
