Just a quick update, have progressed through Act 2, only took me 2 hours which isn't bad going. Spent a bit of time at Andy tho to try and find some nice rare rings, also looking for an Angelic ring as she dropped me the amulet. Another nice and surprising find was the IK Helm, I didn't even know she could drop it, have socketed it with a Ral and Thul to boost my resistances. Currently have 1.5k life after BO which is saving me in quite a few situations where I run into rooms before checking what's in there first!

I have editted the table, it seems to have been messed up a few posts ago, it should be ok now though.

@Greenmind: I would socket the Vipermagi with either a Ral/Ort/Thul depending on which resist you need most or a PRuby for the bonus life. Whatever you choose now it is only a Hel to unsocket and they are pretty easily found at NM Countess.

Fiaan has joined the ranks of the Damned. In the very city of the damned far hidden in the heart of hell itself the power of the ring she was carrying finally overtook the strong elfen heart. It instantly drained her life...

It actually was an extra fast lightning enchanted bosspack of spawners that got the better of her. She was suffering a bit as her damage was high enough but at the cost of great mana. Carrying lots of blue potions left little room for others and when the bosspack rushed up to her with increadible speed she didn't notice all the mods on them.

An immolation arrow was enough to set an ever hurting fire patch under them and there came the lightning bolts. With about 30 lightning resist they hurt. Fiaan grabbed her bow and started to run away. She found a safespot but had only very few life left. And there came other monsters! Winged creatures with shocking hits and damned ones that shot lightning orb.
Fiaan ran again, but this time she would have to run past the bosspack again.. it would all have been well if it wasn't for the mercenary. While Fiaan tried to get safe she could not control his movements and when she ran for safety he tried to slaughter the boss, emitting more lightning bolts then Fiaan could handle.. Trusty warrior, mistress bane.

Screenshot?? How?

OK, I knew the time would come. I am at the Worldstone Keep level two WP. I will soon (unless...) be facing Baal and hoping to recover that ring. I believe there is a requirement for a screenshot of the drop. I have tried to take a screenshot to test my ability to do it. I simply hit the print screen key. It may actually have worked, but there was no indication that it did. I looked everywhere that I could think of in my HD directories, but could not find it. I think I need a short tutorial on screen shots. Please provide!

1. Hit the PRINT SCREEN Button.
2. Press the WINDOWS Key, or ALT + TAB out of Diablo II.
3. Open MS Paint (or any other picture editor).
4. Press CTRL+V (or Right Click, Paste; or EDIT, PASTE).
5. Click FILE, SAVE AS, pick a Directory (such as My Pictures), press SAVE.

Now your "screenshot" of Baal's Ring is saved to your computer and you can upload it to any number of hosts to reveal that screeshot to us :D

Hm.. I thought I had mentioned it somewhere in this thread but Aerwynd is right. That is the easiest way. However, every time you take a screenshot it's also stored on your PC.
It will be stored in your D2 folder which is probably in your program files folder which is probably on your main hard disk (IE: C:/Program Files/Diablo II/(screenshot here) ). If you're running RWM the screenshot will be stored inside the rune folder since that's where you're running D2 from then. (IE: C:/Program Files/Diablo II/Runes/something/something/(screenshot here) ).

Yeah, I've noticed that, but it seems (on my PC anyway), that it only works sometimes...

I've taken a screenshot and went to the folder and refreshed it... No screenshot...

So I've grown accustomed to minimizing D2 and opening Paint Shop Pro, Hit Paste, and Save...

RIP Sint, hopefully people won't lose interest in the Tourney as quite a few high level chars are dead now.

I have taken Toimli through Act 3 tonight in about 2 hours, no useful finds, found an Earthshaker Battle Hammer, does twice the damage of my current best weapon but I can't use it :tongue:

Before killing Mephi I rerolled my map to set him up for a good few Mf runs, hopefully I will be able to find a few nice upgrades for Toimli before I move on, currently running at just under 100 mf which isn't too bad, I don't have the space in my stash to keep any extra mf gear, only a Nagelring and a 30mf amulet.

Doubt I will update for a couple of days now as I have a busy weekend ahead and also I will probably not move on from Mephi until I am happy I will beat Diablo and Act 4 comfortably.

Now that's a rough break. Those "morons" have no concept of team play! RIP Fiaan...

This seems to be quite a deadly contest! The restrictions don't appear to be that rough, but maybe they are tougher than they appear!

Fiwen has made some progress lately, and is poised to enter the Palace. Players8 was going too slowly, so I brought it down to P5 - much better. I had an unusual find in A1:

Sathien Greenleaf, her iron wolf merc and a trusty Valkarie have defeated Baal (seven times to get the ring!). She uses Immolation arrow for fire damage, the merc does fair cold damage and freezes most targets, the valkarie does mostly physical damage. This should be a good combination when they get into immunities during NM and Hell.

I began the Baal runs a little frustrated for two reasons; first, I seldom have the patience to repeat areas; second, I was concerned about the print screen that I had never tried before. Well, by the time I got the ring on the seventh Baal, I was almost dissappointed to be finished. I had been collecting screen pictures and keeping track of my loot (Since I was using P8, it was very useful stuff). The merc found replacements for helm, armor and shield. Shield is now the unique Visceratuant Defender Shield; armor is an ethereal unique Rockfleece with 365 defense; helm is Duskdeep. Sathien did not get much help, but the ring was pretty good and will be kept in stash to be used for fire resist when needed: Ring=+23FR, +15AR, +1 light radius, +3 minimum damage, +1-5 fire damage. Sandar's Riprap heavy boots replace a pair of rare boots. A Sol rune was also dropped along with a couple gems.

Congrats on getting the ring Wolron, you did pretty well getting it in 7 runs, took me far far more than that!

Farmed Meph for a little bit, dropped me a Viper 27 / 13 which isn't too bad, also some Titans which I muled off. He also dropped me the unique Twin Axe, nice damage and 25% crushing blow, much better than my Strength Hatchet for the offhand weapon.

Got bored of Meph and pushed forward to Diablo, had my first real NDE in the Chaos Sanctuary, unsurprisingly to Iron Maiden... Diablo himself was pretty easy, Toimli has max fire and light res so his spells weren't too deadly.

I started rushing through Act 5 to Anya, had a few close call with some Mana Burning FE Claw Vipers but a couple of Warcries sorted them out and gave me a bit of time to kill them.

Anya gave me an awful helm, hellforge gave me a Dol :cry: Hopefully I'll be at Baal by the end of the weekend and start looking for the second ring.

Welcome to the tourney zarfen, I have added you to the table. Unfortunately it is just axe class weapons, not poleaxes etc. Good luck!

@Suiling: Can't you just update your character to 1.11b so you don't have to restart?

Quick update: I decided to run through Act 5 using a combination of Frenzy and Howl to clear a path through the monsters, have started running Baal for the ring and much needed exp before I start Hell. No notable finds again, I have made myself an Insight Grim Scythe, I haven't had any better 4 socket polearms drop yet :sad2:

Will update next after I find a ring :smiley:

but isn't grim schyte a polearm? tha table says ur a dwarf, and then u should only use axes as well, or am I wrong?
Or is it maybe for your merc? =)

Table updated. Going has been pretty slow, pretty much due to starting a new job. I will probably find a place to gain good exp. before going much further. probably try to hit 20ish before any more progress.
 
I will start mine when I get home today, I hope I can get use to HC, old habits die hard ;), but most likely, I will die before I get to level 30 :rolleyes:
