The "Somewhat Vanilla" forum mafia game.

THE RULES

1) You do not talk about your role or any other relevant information concerning the game outside this thread.

2) If you post at night I will kill you, no matter what.

3) If you edit your post I will kill you (This includes editing for spelling mistakes)

4) If your role allows you to communicate with others during the night, feel free to do so via PM, instant messaging or any other form you choose. Only those roles expressly allowed to communicate privately with each other at night are allowed to. If you have any questions, contact me privately.

5) Once you're dead, stay that way. Dead people tell no tales, or in this case, dead people make no posts. Suck up your death and keep watching and rooting for your team. There's always the next round.

6) Every player gets one lynch vote during the day. Votes and unvotes need to be bolded . If your unvote isn't bold, it doesn't count. The votes and unvotes must be as follows:

Anything else won't be tallied towards the lynch. If you try to cheat with ; or whatever else, feel free to, just hope the others won't catch you doing so. Also, names MUST BE CASE SENSITIVE.

7) The required number of votes to seal a lynch for the day is equal to one half the remaining number of people alive (rounded up) plus 1. Once someone reaches this number of votes, they will be lynched no matter what; however, the day will still continue to its scheduled conclusion. Half rounded up equals a lynch, but no lock, so the lynchee has until the days end to persuade the town otherwise.

8) Any posts that come AFTER the end day post or the intended end day time will not be counted, unless specified by the host. This includes votes.

9) Never post anything in the thread that shouldn't be known to the town. Don't flame in the thread. If you have a problem with anything in the thread, please PM me and I'll do my best to handle it.

10) Any player may claim any role. I.E. Any player may claim to be something that they are not. However,

11) Do not post any information sent to you in a pm. This includes, but is not limited to, numbers of words/letters/punctuation marks. If you want to claim a role, don't copy paste the PM I sent you. If you're a townsfolk aka regular forum member, the only person you should be pm'ing (no private aim or msn conversations between each other) is me. Mafia can pm between themselves (or talk on msn or aim) only during the night.

12) I won't be telling you the starting roles.

13) Day lasts 48 hours and night lasts 24 hours.

14) Do not post at night or edit or I will kill you.

15) You will get mod killed if you are inactive (at least 1 contributive post a day) or you get a forum temp ban.

a) Masons are told they have a 25% chance of killing, however, the real chance of killing is 100%
b) Cop mafia can target one person each night, revealing their alignment. Cannot target themselves.
c) Doctor mafia can target one person each night, preventing them from harm. Cannot protect their team twice in a row.
d) Bus driver mafia can target two players each night, switching them and any actions targeting them. Cannot target own team.
e) Village idiots must be lynched in order to win. They have subtle post restrictions during the day. If one dies, remaining team gets a 100% NK ability per night.
f) Mafia have 0% chance of a successful kill.

In Winkleville, being road-kill is considered a lucky ending.

This week, however, it's all a little different. It's Carnival time. Not that peace breaks out; in fact the Carnival Fair usually acts as some great camouflage to some of the less attractive goings-on in Winkleville. Believe me, if you are a part of the Haunted House, there's a good chance you're missing a few limbs.

We'll be taking a tour of some of the attractions during the coming days to give you a flavour of the atmosphere. Well ladies, gentlemen and the undecided here we are at the start of the Winki-Carni.

Tonight we're going to be taking a closer look at a few of the Winkles who are taking part in the Beauty Pagent.

Being Winkleville, the contestants (thankfully) aren't parading in bathing suits. Green is a favourite colour of the participants. Although pants do seem to be missing from quite a few of them.

One of the most unusual outfits is sported by coju who appears to be dressed as a cross between a dog and a meat-based product. We think he may have been looking for the Haunted House and found the Pageant by accident.

Food is quite a popular costume-base this year with pasta, spam and charcoaled food all being represented.

Unfortunately that's the highlight of the first night of the Winky-Carni. We can only hope things get more interesting over the next few days and nights. If not, we shall be petitioning the organizer to take steps.

As some of you might have been used to by now, the stories should not be read into in my games.

From the looks of it, Thyiad introduced some nice jokes in them stories, just enjoy them, laugh at them and carry on with the game.
