The Official Ex-RuST SCL "Journey to Hell" Group Thread

Sorry 'bout the double post, but I wanted to get some stuff down before I forgot. AO4, Yer gonna have several failed logins on yer East account, and probably more later. Hurray for my oversight to detail.

Did a few MF runs, Aldur's Rhythm, Coldkill, several rare weapons, a +1 druid amulet, and a fast cast/MF ring. Any takers?

Alrighty then

I think Ax, and probably someone else are planning on doing a sort of mirror of the West version. I, however, want to do a ladder season 3 practice run, with builds as powerful and synergetic with each other as we can make them, for maximum speed and efficiency, and hopefully without too much requirement on the equipment. Outside MFing and leveling will not only be allowed, but encouraged for anyone who can handle it. The goal here is not a leisurely, fun time (although fun should be a part of it), but to hit a high level FAST. It seems this may not work, though since I can't seem to get more than two or three people interested. We shouldn't be limited to eight people here, either.

I'll need a bit more time to throw in this option and get responses, but we can split the groups thusly:

One group full of power levelers - when people who normally want to play new builds and the old way (playing to A2N then making public games with level restrictions to keep out bots) or rushing just doesn't suffice would have long sessions every night, probably up to or exceeding four hours seven days a week. If you think about it, when someone misses a night they'll likely have to play the old way anyway, except not in a public is all, so not much difference.

The other group full of play-for-fun types who meet three or four times a week, likely for two hours at most.

It's clear that the power-leveling group would not only be more prepared for LS3 but also get their cooperation skills and techniques finely tuned along with a lot of builds for different purposes. Also, they're most likely the ones that will do the two-hour constant hellforge rushing for as many GULs as possible in order to cube that LO, SUR, BER or JAH. Eight accounts, eight mules per account, 64 runes from EL-AMN, 64 more from SOL-UM and 64 KO-GUL.

Seems that's the group Dave will be in as he wants his bonejangler ASAP, and since Jester - assuming he's approved - has no characters as of yet he'd probably join that group, too, to get his first. This means I'll be in it but Wathombe won't. =/ So, this probably means the late group, 1-3AM EST (10-12 PST) would be this one so Wathombe can participate when desired.

Well, everyone chime in on this, as well, and let me know. 8-12 EaST for power (plus one hour on each side at most, for 4-6 hours total, especially if you want to do both groups), 1-3 EaST (10-12 PaST) for leisure. Format:

Forumname (USEast accountname), charactername (build type): grouptype and times available.

This is starting to get too complicated, should've been done west by now and already started on east. Even Wathombe agrees with that. Imagine, though, how far we can get in four to six hours; maybe through normal entirely!

Hell goes from Hel to Gul.

I think this group doesn't have to be RuST only, since we probably won't have enough that way. Still trustworthy, of course. If someone in RuST has enough trust in any one individual to let them in, I say go for it. We don't even have to limit this one to eight, since there will be a lot of outside playing/MFing.

Sign me up for both, though there's a good possibility that a chunk of that power group time will be eaten up by dinner, parents taking the computer.

Right, right. Up three runes, didn't count properly.

We'll have enough if you want in. Dave, Jester, you, I and at least one other will be five, we'll likely get more once everyone offers their options. Remember, there might be people playing for leisure that can't make the 1-3EST, so we'll have three groups, or maybe four, with an early/late leisure setup. Anything to actually get people started playing. We can get them up to speed before LS3 starts easily.

Don't your parents understand the meaning of priorities? FFS!

BTW, half an hour into tonight's west JoTH and we're only at four. WTF are you? I saw you on east just five minutes before I left!

Very, very sorry, guys. I was hanging out with my wife, of all things, playing "Shrek 2" on the PlayStation until 11:00. I found tlaloc online, and he told me everyone had just logged off. The good news is, I've earned serious brownie points by skipping Diablo for two nights straight, so I should be good to go for the week.

More tomorrow re: East JotH, et cetera.

Hahaha!

If you want weekends off, Wathombe, just let us know. I can understand if you want to do things together with that rare free time, but can't she do them outside of those two specific hours? Priorities, man.

Anyway, just as we started breaking up Ghost appeared (I'm king of the pun), but by that point I'd already notified my east regulars I'd be back. Besides, with five of us and without Enchant I'd be lucky to survive the ordeal with the gear I've had to scrap together. Considering we should all be there anyway and we may be getting too far ahead for Be-Were, etc. I think waiting one night isn't a bad idea.

I have a lot of inventory to do on east and now have contacted Dudspud. He should make a decision soon, as well as Selex & Co, and maybe even hear back from Cherokee and others before Jester is ready. Phaeax and a handful of others aren't yet contacted, but hopefully Ikeren might be back in to get warmed up for LS3. Who knows, either way I'll have to go back through the posts and find out all the information again.

Man, all this time and not one response about the combination build I posted in the paladin forum. I'm starting to think I'll change builds to a Liberator, since all that needs is a Pride (just a CHAM, SUR and LO, not much else) for end gear, just no starting gear. On the bright side, if I have to wait until A5NM to get a decent item for a medic/cleric build then I'll just about have enough of this 'sit in the back of the pack and wait' habit I'm getting. A charging hammerdin is just the thing.

You had dropped me a note about playing on the east side, and I dont know if you read the response or not, cause I just posted it in that thread.
But due to my irregular playing times I would not be able to do it, Would love to jump in and ride the wave to the end, but just cant nail down times for me to be able to play. So I must appologize for not being able to join the journey, but I wish you guys all the luck.

Sure! I'd love to join a communal levelling team. My main account is ksechrist and I'd like to play a necro (summon) or sorc (orb/firewall). I play between 7-10 EST about half the nights of the week. I'd set up a separate account for this JTH-WKS or some such, but it sounds like fun.

Morning, all.

This week: I will most definitely be on tonight, regular time, and could potentially play later than usual if everyone has the energy. Unfortunately, I just realized I have a business dinner Thursday and a Clippers game with a buddy Friday. I should be able to get on Thursday, although it might be a rush to get home in time, but I'm not sure about Friday. Will advise.

MLK Day: Fortunately, I just realized I have a day off this coming Monday (the 17th) for MLK Day, so if at least four of you are available anytime at all that day, I can play for hours and hours. I know Sokar probably won't be awake until at least midday PST, though. If we can coordinate something, though, we can make some real progress.

East latenight "JotH": Okay, if we do a "latenight" (1 AM - 3 AM EST) group, play 3-4 nights per week, and don't start until the West group finishes, I'm in:

wathombe (*wathombe_e (assuming it hasn't been purged)), Al-Addis (conc barb) or Valcina (melee enchantress): leisure, 1-3 EST.

Later.

I'll be in the power LS3 group. LS2, i started with a Hammerdin, he go to lvl80 and then stopped lvling because i got all the "best gear" at that point for him, with no more real purpose, i stopped playing (i actually shared all my stuff with a friend and we both owned the stuff) and all the gear went to him, well, he quit and someone took all of his stuff and i never saw a bit of it ever again. [/rant] anyways, i want to make a Hammerdin again and actually be able to gear him up all the way without another person doing most the work for me

ooo, just while writing this i really wanted LS3 to start like right now

This the partially synergized triple holy elemental conviction build? I thought about it, then finally decided that if I'm going to spend that kind of rune-age, I'd rather do it on an enchantress and put a little Infinity on her mercenary with masteries out the wazzoo. Of course, barring stripping all of my characters, this would probably take a few months minimum to assemble the pieces for. Figured I might as well toss a Pheonix shield on her while I'm at it for the redemption and the lessened fire resistance. (I can Dream(Suck it, punmaster.), can't I?)

Edit: We are on for tonight at 9 PM Pacific, are we not?

Wrong direction

No, avengers are avengers, and Infinity is the Conviction-runeworded polearm. Pride has SLvl18 Concentration, eliminating the need to put more than one point into it for a Liberator (Blessed Hammer/Charge) and being able to max the synergies completely, as only the character can do. In this case a Liberator wouldn't be overpowered because a level one Concentration couldn't give the damage to be abusive even with +skill items. Charge, on the other hand... =]

Phoenix shield on an enchantress? Are you going melee or something? If not I wouldn't waste a Dream on that build, since she can't boost it.

Referring to the build you never got a response to, not the Liberator. Yes, melee, and I thought lightning mastery would boost Holy Shock?

Edit: My bad, read that wrong the first time.

At long last!

Quick post before bed.

Site updated: Ex-RuST USWest SCL "JotH" Page

Reached Frigid Highlands wp.
Finished Qual-Kehk quest.
Highest level was 64.

More tomorrow.

I went through the lightning-arrowed, poison-enchanted skeleton archers, every imp I could find, slayers and mages. Finally, on the Frozen Tundra, it dropped. I put it in Larzuk's trusted hands, and got what I wanted. Then, carefully and determinately, I placed the runes.

20,000 per Revive charge? You're breaking my bank account!

Well, it's still SLvl10 Vigor, but only +3 to Valkyrie with +245% ED, but it has elemental damage, high overall damage and it's as fast as it can be without IAS. Harmony in a plain blade bow, and you should see how fast my dogs run. I switched to Sander's Riprap just to see how fast I run, and though I lose some resistances I like it.

The magic find on the boots is fine to lose, but this means I'll need to trade out with someone for a better belt/ring/amulet, or wear that +17 ARes I found, and, maybe, I'll hit 50 in fire/cold/lightning. Poison resistance and defense still stink but, hopefully, that'll change soon.

In the process of doing all this I hit CLvl64 and then some. Could've gone further but I already had to sell a few things to Malah just to save and exit (wouldn't sell to Larzuk, bastard charges me an arm and a leg to repair Harmony). I'll list my gear and stats later, but for now know that my wolves and bear are maxed, working on Spirit of Barbs at this point and will inform you to the merc's Thorns level and total ATD return effect tonight.

Wow, Ax. You must be very tired. But congrats! Can't wait to see it in action tonight.

And good news. My late business dinner Thursday night got replaced by an early business dinner Thursday evening, so I probably will be good for that night.

More later.

Thursdays may not be good for me. They're the one day of the week that my parents are awake beyond the normal starting time. It will boil down to what's going on on each individual Thursday, but know now that there is a danger of me being cut off suddenly and without explanation on Thursday.

Phaeax and a handful of others aren't yet contacted, but hopefully Ikeren might be back in to get warmed up for LS3.

Hehe, not a chance. I'd join in for a ladder season three because I like new seasons, with the server unsaturated (not that that would matter when playing in an isolated group), and I want another crack at those durned rune words. (If they don't put any out I won't be impressed).

Any date on that season 3 yet anyways?
