I expect to see you for LS3. It's hard enough finding trustworthy, non-jerks to play with, let alone legitimate, hard workers on the ladder. This morning I joined no fewer than four Baal runs that were being led by a bot. Same person, probably, as the exact phrases being macroed were 'tp up' with instant invitations and portals in the exact same places. This is what I mean when I say that the .dll which allows multiple instances of the game to be run on the same system might be considered a cheat. RPGForums and everyone else absolutely need to take an official stance on this. Think I'll make a thread elsewhere, but I digress.

Anyway, I spoke to Corp not a few minutes before and said he hadn't received word, so who knows, might see him on west any second. Good luck and get back soon. I'd like to know just how crazy AO4 is, BTW, don't want anything contagious.

On a more positive note, I just contacted Selex, and a friend of his apparantly on one of his accounts, and they should be responding here shortly. He'll need to sponsor the friend, so it'll be put to a vote much like Jester will be. I'd think Dave wouldn't need to be since the only difference between him and an official RuST member is that he didn't have his name in the spreadsheet. I talked about him from day one, if I remember correctly, but his jobs kept him from contributing consistently and he didn't want people expecting so much from someone who might contribute so little.

Also, just this moment received an email from Jester. The problems that led him to exile last time haven't been completely solved, but he expects to be up and running by Monday (shock, amazement... okay, you needed to be there) and by Tuesday could very well be playing an enchantress, as that's what he's initially impressed by. This means that if Wathombe joins east (please, please, please, please, please, please) he should be with Jester to give pointers, and with Jester being with Dave and I that means our group shall consist of:

Ax2Grind, paladin
Dave, necromancer
Jester, sorceress - possibly tank barb
Wathombe, undecided

Assuming Jester keeps the sorc Corp could join us, but if he changes to a tank then Corp must go into the first group. We'll wait until Selex and his friend chime in, as the latter and Jester need to be interviewed, so to speak.

I thought I saw a Ghost!

I did! His name was AlphaOmega4. :D

Tried to log in as AO4, and apparently he is still active, or at least someone using his account is. Back to my hermitage.

According to the last word I heard concerning mulitple logins on the same account, it is possible to use two different characters on one, just not the same character, for obvious reasons. If there wasn't another character, you couldn't create one and didn't have an account on USWest already for technical support reasons then we'd have a problem.

We might also have a problem if we got AO4 addicted to the character again. Caught him up and then some tonight so everyone except Be-Were should be at the hellforge in nightmare. This habit can severely slow us down, as we might spend the entire first hour getting a character who's behind caught up only to get halfway through the next act and break down for the night. Granted, that's faster than not playing for four to five days straight, but I WANT MY KO!

Speaking of which, has anyone done their forges yet? I figure I'll creep my way to get the hammer this afternoon (might see Wathombe, that hooky-playing bizantress) and then list my current and back-up gear, along with extras in my stash. Don't know if formally listing my stats from the LCS would be useful, but things like resistances might let others know where I'm weak.

Sup all.

Hit my forge just now for a Lum. Here's a quick summary of EchoingRuin:

Lvl 61 barb ~2500 life ~1300 mana

JtH East?

I'd be interested in joining a JtH on East, but from following this thread, I can't tell whether anything's been started yet. I'd be able to play a couple of weeknights per week from 7-11 pm (EST) and occasional weekends as well. I'd be interested in bringing along almost any character type (with only a couple of exceptions - I'd rather not play: non-singer barb or melee druid) but, in particular, a trapper or necro summoner would be especially interesting to me.

If y'all need another player, e-mail me at my account name (datharaur) at my gmail address.

Forge

Forge: Did my forge a little earlier: Um :D

I now realize something I hadn't noticed before: not a single one of the new runewords uses Um. I suppose it was overused before. At any rate, I might want to make an armor for Valcina with it (Gloom, Stone, Duress) for def/resists/fhr, but if not, I offer it up to the party. Thoughts?

Skills: I've now maxed Enchant, its synergy Warmth, and Fire Mastery. When I began the build, I had intended to max Static Field thereafter, so I can knock half the hit points off an entire room for the party. I enjoy playing Valcina solo, however, and even with max Static, hell FIs would be practically impossible.

I'm now thinking I might do Thunderstorm/Lightning Mastery. Projecting to clvl 85 and including only my Lore circlet, an slvl 14 TS with slvl 21 LM would deal 511-897 per bolt (704 ave.). Random hell critters in hell a5 carry 2K-6K hp, so the damage would be comparable to Static. Pros: Static (at slvl 21) would hit everything on the screen per shot; TS can take monsters below 50% in hell. Cons: Static cannot take monsters below 50% in hell; TS only fires periodic bolts, thus not hitting everything on the screen.

I've never played a sorc, so I've never used TS or even seen it in action. Anyone have any advice?

Gear: Here's my current stats and gear:

Valcina
lvl 61 sorc
636 life (approx 1400 w/BO)
68 fr/5 cr/39 lr/48 pr
base slvls: Enchant 20, Warmth 20, Fire Mastery 20
1 pt ea: Frozen Armor, Static, Teleport

Hellcast
Lore circlet
rare Mage Plate (uped from Light Plate), 435 def, cr, pr
Blazing Amulet of Brilliance
Sanders gloves
rare Belt, fhr, life, pr, gold
blue lr ring
rare cr, fr, pr, dex ring
rare Greaves, fhr, frw, fr, ctc Charged Bolt
life, resist, poison, and fhr charms

Switch:
Leaf gnarled staff, +6 Enchant, +4 Warmth, +3 Fire Mastery

Cube:
+3 Chilling Armor Orb

lvl 61 rogue
Cliffkiller, eth Iceblink, rare Full Helm w/resists and ctc Charged Bolt

Stash ([mostly] for common use)
2x El, Tir, Eth, Tal, 2x Ral, 3x Thul, Amn, 2x Sheal, Um
Sanders boots
blue Chain Gloves (for making hitpower gloves when I find the rune)
Scintillating ammy
Jewel of Carnage
Rusty Jewel
4 pRuby
3 ea. of pEmerald, pSapphire, pAmethyst
2 pSkull
1 ea. of pDiamond, pTopaz
1 of ea. chip except Topaz

I would advise against TS as a method for dealing with immunes.... It fires ridiculously slow (1 sec i think) we are talking 3-5min a pack.... its a great concept but not viable I think...

The only other things I can think of are Nova and FOrb. Of the two, FOrb is probably better, but lacks the style factor of nova... And with maxed warmth, nova is screaming for some lovin :)

The um: it seems like stone is the use of choice. I can safely say I don't want/need it.

PS: Even if TS is 1 second, trust me, it seems like a whole lot longer :)

PPS: Now that I think of it, Nova would be perfect! My vote is Nova.

Sorry I missed last night. My wife wasn't keen on me playing just then. Who was on? Did you guys quest? I may have some time this afternoon to catch up, and I'd like to do so before tonight if possible.

More later.

We were 5 last night, but no questing went on. Some forge runs happened and so MF but thats it. Without your unifying influence we just mill about in confusion, it seems. :)

Ok, thanks. Hopefully I'll be back tonight.

Skills: Thanks for the info on TS, that's exactly what I wanted to know. Nova seems a little low damage to me, esp. with only ~30 skill pts to spend. I think I'll go static field after all, and simply try to pile on non-fire damage sources with equipment for solo purposes.

To that end...

Runeword armor: I think Duress is the best use for my Um (unless someone else has a dire need it). I like it better than Stone for the multiple damage sources and additional resistances. Plus, it's cheaper. So, please keep an eye out for a 3os Dusk Shroud or a 3os or white Mage Plate (neither of which will start dropping until sometime in a5nm).

East "JotH": I'm severely tempted, and it sounds like fun, but if the latenight East "JotH" will attempt a brutal 5-to-7-night-per-week schedule, I don't think I can do it. (My wife is heading into a "you're playing too much" phase, I can tell.) If the group would consider a more leisurely 3- or 4-night-per-week schedule, though, I'm in. And if so, I'd like to play a conc barb (unless Jester plays the barb, in which case I'll try a melee version of my enchantress).

See everyone tonight, I hope.

We were?

Ghost on AO4's account, Sokar, you and me. Tlaloc wasn't there, Be-Were hasn't been there, saw Wathombe on the forums but never showed, and our resident physician was nowhere to be found. I'm pretty damn good in math, and that looks like four.

Wathombe: if you're not using that mana during battle, what good is it? I'd hope you'd set one into energy shield to put it to good use. As for a second attack, if it's fire immune then you can count on everyone swarming it, and if there are a few around static goes a long way. Nova, on the other hand, is powerful enough that it doesn't need a synergy, just the mastery. Warmth, Enchant, Fire Mastery, Lightning Mastery, Nova. Prerequisites and a point here and there with +skills can boost everything. It's not awesome but it suffices.

20 Warmth
1 Firebolt
1 Fireball
20 Enchant
20 Fire Mastery

1 Charged Bolt
1 Static Field
1 Telekenisis
20 Nova
1 Lightning
1 Chain Lightning
1 Teleport
1 Energy Shield
1 Thunderstorm
20 Lightning Mastery

True, you may never hit CLvl99, but you should always plan for it. Choose one you'd max last.

You should seriously consider FO, u just need like 11 points into coldmastery (along with +skills items, u can get enemies resists under -55%) so thats 32 points you would be spending for a powerful attack that slows your enemies way down. You should have an easy 8 or 10 points left to spend on static field. Any group of fire immunes (except lister and friends, which may take a few minutes to take down) will not be able to stand too much of a chance against you.

Uh, just a quick note for ya Wathombe...should season 3 start up I'd like to join in with you guys and help search for the new rune words in this closed party. I'd probably do Enchantress or Dragon-Claw Assassin. So do me a favour and keep me in mind?

I think Ax, and probably someone else are planning on doing a sort of mirror of the West version. I, however, want to do a ladder season 3 practice run, with builds as powerful and synergetic with each other as we can make them, for maximum speed and efficiency, and hopefully without too much requirement on the equipment. Outside MFing and leveling will not only be allowed, but encouraged for anyone who can handle it. The goal here is not a leisurely, fun time (although fun should be a part of it), but to hit a high level FAST. It seems this may not work, though since I can't seem to get more than two or three people interested. We shouldn't be limited to eight people here, either.
