Oh, and I do suppose it isn't useful information to consider, but as mafia JOAT, what abilities could he really have? We haven't seen extra kills on any night...it is very possible I suppose that there were supposed to be two kills on the night Drixx died and Goryanis' extra kill was redirected to Drixx.

There was a mafia JoAT in the "Jcakes eats a bus mafia game" designated hit man with 1 shot double kill, 1 shot cop and 1 shot bus driver.
There was also a mafia JoAT in the "Baldurs Gate mafia game" 1 shot mirror image (abilities have a 75% chance to fail on him), 1 shot domination (player can't vote next day), 1 shot kill (can't vote the next day if used).

So, historically, they've all had extra kills. It may be fear mongering, but IF Goryani is scum, then we have to lynch him today and can't afford to wait until tomorrow. I'm by no means certain Goryani is scum though.

N7 - Used Blurt Out. Blurt Out let's me ask a question in my QT. A yes/no question. The mods provide me with an answer. There are restrictions, with the net effect being that I can't ask something so blatant as "Is Gwaihir anti-town?" I asked: "Is Cindy Pauper a fake role name?" I received an answer of no. I see no conflicts with Gwaihir's early name claim and his answer today.

Can you tell us exactly what limitations there are on the question?

Also, there is still the discrepancy from before: CG said you were a JOAT. Is that part of your role name?

Numbers: I don't think Numbers would come up with the English teacher role and I can imagined BPC / Pharphis coming up with that role.

It actually matches the e-listener role quite well.

Nothing Goryani says actually clears Gwaihir. He asked "Is Cindy Pauper a fake role name?" and the mods answer was no. Assuming he is town and not lying, that response just means that Cindy Pauper exists in the game. Gwaihir could very have claimed someone elses name, while still remaining a vanilla thug.

I could also see scum goryani pretending to clear someone who's town, in order to make it easier to get a consensus on voting for another member of the town.

Weren't you the one that originally pointed out that the mafia are all the event staff? There can not be 2 mafia left, and therefore I can not be mafia with Gory. So if he is either town or mafia, I am Cindy, which according to your most likely theory, means I am town.

I was just curious about reactions, and since two people had already placed votes and you wouldn't be voting for yourself, felt it was unlikely enough that you would get locked to put out the vote there and see what happened.

Just to clarify though, there's actually no proof that you are cindy. The exact question he asked merely confirmed that this role/name exists in the game, not whether or not you actually have that role, so it doesn't do anything at all to clear you if he's town, though it appears to.

Not quite. He claims to be Joat, with sink or swim, which allows him access to his abilities upon success. He said those abilities were 1x alignment cop, 1x doc save, and 1x "blurt out" which is the ability he claimed to not understand, but I assume was what allowed him to ask a question in his QT and receive a correct answer.

2. Goryani play today is exactly how I imagine him playing in this situation, he made a post about Gwaihir and waited for him to respond, I think with the intention of claiming that Gwaihir is scum (due to the mislynch on him). I got a little bit of heat (mostly from BA) and he decided to instead of claim Gwai as scum to confirm him as who he says he is and thus make me the obvious lynch

No such thing as heat from an 'already won the game neutral.' No offense BA.

3. Goryani has been coasting most of this game, 3rd ish vote on almost all the trains.

I'm forced to vote earlier than I like to. My schedule is such that I can no longer afford to wait until later. See logout's lynch and many examples from past games for my actions when I know I can be online at the end of the day. As it happens, that's when the eventual lynch trains are usually becoming trains.

p.s. Nice, "3rd vote is mafia vote" inference without actually saying those words.

4. Finally we are in the late stages of the game and Goryani a strong player and a claimed power role (backed up by CG) is still alive.

Ah yes. The old "Goryani is still alive, lets lynch him." Why would mafia waste a kill on me if they know I'll be lynched if they just lay low and let me live? ESPECIALLY after my claim.

I tried hard to keep my threat to mafia well hidden and I think I succeeded. I didn't immediately claim JOAT. I only claimed abilities AFTER I used them. I was up front about the 50/50 chance of failure and the penalty for failure. I was up front about the ability that wasn't immediately obvious based on the name alone. If you think my power role is a threat to mafia from what I said in this thread, you know I'm town and the only way you could know that is if you are mafia.

Interesting why Gwaihir? Unless we have two scum (which we can't because then it would be game over) then it seems he cannot be scum. Goryani claims a result of Gwaihir being who he says he is so regardless of Goryani's affiliation Gwaihir must be town. Is there something I am missing?

Gwaihir could be non-town with that name. The last mafia is probably the remaining host name but we can't be certain.

There were two questions. He was able to ask the mods one and receive an honest answer I assume, and the second question was directed at gwaihir to see if he was lying. I feel you might be right about goryani's scumminess however jcakes, simply because the question he asked both the mods and gwai don't actually prove accomplish anything.

This is correct. However, the question I asked Gwaihir wasn't to determine if he was lying (didn't think he'd claim something else at this point) but rather to gauge his, and others, reactions.

I tried to ask the question to the mods in such a way as to get positive confirmation IF Gwaihir is using a fake role name he stole via killing someone (if he was provided a fake role name by mods, I would never get positive confirmation).

The question I ask has to be answerable by a single player that played this game. In other words, absolutely no mod only provided info. FOr instance, I could have asked if player X was rolecopped on the night CG died (but I didn't see the usefulness) but I can't ask if player X is role Y. I figured the best play was to ask if someone, anyone, sees one of the claimed names as being a fake. A pseudo coroner, if you will. I chose your claimed name because I put you higher on my scum list and because of the near lynch yesterday.

I don't want to get too close to subjects we shouldn't be talking about, but both Sink or Swim and JOAT are part of my role name.

Not really sure on this, but my gut is really saying that Gory is the last mafia. Jcakes has just been out in front of the lynches, and as he pointed out the play against Laarz was a less effective bus for a mafia.

Also, Gory's reaction to me wanting to focus on people targeting Drixx was somewhat surprising, and it seemed like he worked real hard to get away from that.

There was a lot of talk about how there had to be multiple scum who targeted drixx and laarz was lynched. That night, CG was killed leaving numbers and gory.

If either of those players were scum why on earth would they nk CG with the discussion about two potential mafia in that group?

Idk if they would and that would flip flop me back to gwaihir or cakes and since I need to be inconsistent, I'd probably go for Gwaihir. Cakes defense to me holds up more than Gwaihirs.

That would also leave two options left so if one was lynched and revealed to be town, then the argument could be "well then X must be scum" which could have ended the game. If one is left, this could steer the discussion of "scum or not" with no way would numbers kill gory based on the party host results potentially clearing them (and would have been an amazing play)

Instead, they go for Coju to keep all options in play. And Gwaihir is saying we should focus on the Drixx results. HMM.

Because cg was a role cop? It does make less sense to kill him if you are gory as he had been targeted already. Makes the most sense if you are numbers as he was cgs next target. Goldtru also enters the equation.
