Blew through A3 and killed Mephisto on P7 who dropped nothing but rares. Chipped away at Izual until he died; and I'm now in the middle of A4. Its interesting to learn which monsters are not knocked back -MBoulder is much less effective against unmoveable monsters. Poison spitters in A4 are a problem, because they are not knocked back, whereas the Knights are a breeze because they go willingly.

Made it to the Arc Sanc. Merc dies frequently, and I fear my bolder is losing its potency.:sad2: Not as many knock-backs as Normal, and even the mummies (wich fell redily before MB in Norm) doesnt get knocked bsck regularly.
ColdWorm took an age to die on /p8.
I will keep pumping MB synergies and see if the situation becomes any better.

I finally got time to play tonite, which is just what I needed...RL has been ...making me angry lately so it's always nice to take it out on something from the depths of hell.
So after 3 hours of straight playing I dropped Baal, not that he dropped anything. ShockandAwl now has HF maxed as well as Res Fire with a handfull in Zeal and now I am working on the other synergy for HF and maybe putting a few points into Charge...Not sure...I did find a couple decent armors along the way, Hawkmail and Boneflesh. But besides that nothing.

After tearing through act3, I finally got to a4. I'm also very pleased with thul from hellforge drop:jig:

I'm wondering for how long I should continue /players8. I mean, I can still easily kill with it on, it's just the guys who don't move at all when hit annoy me quite often, but my goal is to stick with it always on, with the exception of bosses and such.

Finally got through A2. Worst fight was in Tals Tomb with a big pack of Urdars(/p8).
Had to resurrect the Merc 8 times and used up all my big purples except for 1. I just had to kill the boss.
I didnt want to save & exit so I dropped to /p1 for Duriel .
Worked out in the end as he kept focusing in my wolves and as long as I kept recasting them, me and the merc could chip away at him.
After I finished the act I switched to a HF merc. I think it will be very hard to continue without him (maybe even with him).

Cyclone Armor is a defensive skill and thus may be used. The only elemental skills that are banned are offensive ones.

It never ceases to amaze me how fast everyone else seems to move through this game. Hours of playtime net me half as much experience. I must play too cautious.

Anyway, OnlyStrikes took the weekend off so that his narrator could spend some time with the daughters. He picked up his adventuring again last night. Moving through the Catacombs was a breeze, the only frustrating part was running into a pack of exra-fast Ghoul Lords on Cat3, boss included. They did drop me a pair of Death's Hand gloves, though...50% Poison Resist and 75% reduction, very nice with Andariel looming ahead. Watching this boulder move reminds me of the steam roller scene in Austin Powers. It's so ssslllloooooowwwwwww. At L16 now, though, not much can stand in its inferno and survive. Andariel went down so easy, it was literally surprising. 3 boulders and she was toast. She dropped me a Nagelring, 29% MF, which is a nice addition to the gear at this point in the game.

Moving on to Act II, went down and took out Radamant. Now taking a rest until tonight. His primary weapon is a 3 socketed Long Bow with chippies, switch to a Crushflange and Set shield, I forget which one, for melee. 2 socketed studded armor, with two max damage jewels in it. Not much else to report. Happy Bowling!

Mephisto dropped dead after hearing the wonderful tune I played for him. It took a little while at /p5 & I had to switch to my backup sticks (darn low durability) but I didn't really have any problems. I hope my drumming has the same effect on his brother when I see him.

She drop anything good for you smilts? Just wondering because I'd love to make a splendor or rhyme, whichever gives plus one (I know it's the eth and Lum one). It's just I might get to NM very soon and I want to get rid of this leaf staff and pray I find that ele mace or hammer or maybe even that sword with 2 fire skills (haha i only know what they do not the names) and pop on a good shield.

Had some very kind maps in A1 and A2 so I made it to Duriel quickly, who quickly beat me down. Ouch. Retreat and regroup.

Ran countess until I could upgrade my Awl to an Exceptional Awl. Opened a TP in Duriel's chamber, hit her until I ran out of red and purple pots, ran to town. Repeat three times until she died, dropping The Impaler.

On to the Gloams in A3!

OnlyStrikes set out after the cube. Pretty uneventful trip, although it's great fun to watch that molten boulder just mow everything over. It's actually quite effective at getting to the Horadrim, since it just knocks back anything in its path. Cleared that area, got the cube, and moved into the Far Oasis. Thought about going after Coldworm, but as the narrator was simply too tired to go on, he went back to Lut Gholein for R&R. We'll see if there's energy to continue tonight.

Tentpen is down to a crawl. The damage done by the boulder on p/8 is taking very long, but he will persist at this at least up to Meph.
Very lousy gear is a big contributer to the slow progress.
2 places he had it very tough was collecting the brain, and getiing into Lower Kurast.
Merc must be resurrected constantly and the money is running out!!:shocked:

No actually Andy was very stingy. And so was countess I have runes enough to upgrade to a sol almost when i get the chipped gems i need. When I do and can upgrade my awl killing will be only to simple as it isnt to hard now. Having terrible lite resist is hurting me though. But had to go out of town today when while feeding my snakes my little 6 year old decided to get a turtle. Slowly but surely act2 will be done tonight.

To bad its untwinked I have 3 differant rhyme shields in a stash
