DLD-It all depends on your level. I am not sure on the exact numbers but if you too far above or below you don't get the full level, just a certain percentage...EJB

Finding A5 is hard- many monsters that are not knocked back, and its taking multiple molten boulders to kill many of the A5 monsters on P7. I have MB =20, Firestorm = 7 and Volcano = 3.

OnlyStrikes is plodding right along at a snails pace. 3 hours of playing last night and he moved from L23 to L27....meh. Picking up where we left off, he set out into the Far Oasis and dove headfirst into the Maggot Lair. Guess what? The boulder doesn't knock back the maggots. In places where they were stacked up, it took quite a few boulders and the requisite number of mana pots to get through them. After offing Coldworm in a very uneventful(yawn) encounter, he moved off through the Lost City and into the Valley of Snakes. Things got pretty fun a few times, as there were some rooms packed with Embalmed with 3-4 Horadrim inthe back resurrecting them as fast as they went down. Had to draw them out by retreating, and use the bow with cold damage to shatter as many as possible. Fangskin was killed before I knew it, he took a boulder right in the kisser. Only Strikes kept going through the Palace levels and, feeling lucky, cleared the Arcane Sanctuary. That actually was pretty funny, because those paths are just like bowling lanes. Once the Summoner was defeated, the waypoint at the Canyon of the Magi was collected, and he went to bed.

Equipment finds have been very fortuitous. Besides the Deaths Hand gloves, he found the shield and the gloves from the Cleglaws set, which gives a nice +15 resist all, a boost to defense, and a nice boost to AR...pretty nice for this stage. Found the Crushflange, which, while underpowered 'tis true, gives 33% Crushing Blow, which is very handy when melee becomes a necessity. And then, check out this ring found last night? I can see using this for quite awhile.

Diablo finally fell, but only after several trips to town for potions & repairs. He wasn't really dangerous, it just took forever at /p5 using dual wands with 41-78 fire damage & 1-175 lighting. I'm hoping to find an Amn to make Strength for the Crushing Blow. And I'll be crafting Blood gloves if I could ever get a perfect ruby.

Just curious, does anyone know if the crushing blow on one wand will work for both hands or just the one it's on?

I finally had time to play with my bowler. Finished Act 2 & 3, will have a break before dueling with diablo. Currently at River of Flames wp.

I hate Act 3 with every char and i hated it even more with Boulder as my skill. It was very hard to aim those little flayers that keep running around.

Act 4 was also a nightmare unexpectedly. None of the monsters in river of flames were knocked back, forcing me to drink mana pots and casting boulders one after another.

Still the char is very fun to play, and i didn't need to drop /p8 setting which is good.

Boy RL gets in the way well im past the lite shooting bugs and well on way I have the amns to upgrade my weapon as soon as I get a chipped amithyst but other wise smooth sailing for now.

OnlyStrikes dragged his weary bones out of his hostel, telling the writhing wench that her services were no longer required. He hopped the portal plane back to the Canyon of the Magi full of malilce in his heart, intent on destroying Duriel. Those tombs sucked royally. It seemed like all of them were jam packed with skeletons, with about 4 Horadrim in the back. A skellie would be resurrected as soon as he crumpled up. A couple of times he just followed the path of the boulder to get through the skeletons to get at the Horadrim, but on other occassions the skeletons were simply too thick. In those cases it was run forward, then act like Brave Sir Robin himself and "Run Away!" Pick a good spot and plink away with the bow socketed with a saphire. This got about 25% of them to shatter. (Yes, and today's word of the day shall be "tedious".) Finally, having had enough of this kind of fun, he skipped the rest of the tombs and went for Duriel, in all her cantankerous glory. OnlyStrikes tanked while the merc plinked with her bow, guzzling mana pots after 3 boulders and reds every other charge attack. Pots low, TP to town to re-stock, re-engage. All in all, it was much less dangerous than it sounds, and since Duriel was otherwise engaged, my little Rogue merc never took a hit. Duriel went down in flames, and actually dropped a better rare bow for my merc and a better rare armor for me. Not too shabby. He left that horrible town of Lut Gholein and headed for the drabness of the Kurast Docks, where he now rests. All that, and no new levels. :sad2: More tomorrow.

WooHoo!!! Big, bad Meph is dead!! The Bear is an awesome tank, even with just 1pt invested. No more than 8 recasts, and conjuring him out of thin air is pretty nifty.
The boulder wreaked havoc on the council, and in no stage was TentPen worried in this fight.

:shocked: nice molten slvl's you have there, what are you using as gear, did you make any runewords to boost the skill?

i just rescued anya in act5 at lvl 39 and did a single pindle run. the only plus skill i have is my +2 molten helmet which i can't replace with anything better. i am planning to do some NM andy runs when i reach that point to boost my and mercs gear but i can't think of anything to boost my skill now. :undecided:

my skills are; 20 Molten Boulder, 17 firestorm. loved the fire splash damage of molten therefore i will start pumping volcano after maxing firestorm.
