74 already Iron???

Jeeze...I guess I learned my lesson for playing through act3 and 4 with /players1...now I'm cramming all that leveling into /players8 on shenk and eld runs. Just some questions to see how I'm doing iron. How long did meph take you? I had planeed to run him a lot when I got there, but I soon realized that even on /players1, it still took a matter of minutes to take him down, and diablo wasn't any different. I just want to know how you level'd so well, and any advice would help out a lot...btw...hope to see you in "hell" after this tournament's over so we can have some fun.

I just burned NM Andariel to death. She didn't give me anything good but ovarally act 1 was very generous. While clearing den of evil a fallen dropped me sigon's shield :wink2: and just outside of the den a sol rune dropped from a zombie. Somewhere around black marsh i found frostburn gauntlets.

I won't be using any of them for now though. I have a rare glove with mf and resists which i love. if i find a nice helm i have the runes for Lore but i don't think it will be soon. And i forgot about Leaf staff in normal difficulty but i finally made one of those to myself, i have sigon's in my weapon switch and cast the minions with it though. Hopefully i will find one of those swords that give + to fire skills :rolleyes:

I am planning to stick around act 1 and do a few Andy runs. I really need to improve my resists. But first i will get a holy freeze merc to myself :thumbsup:

OnlyStrikes set out from Lower Kurast on his mission to defeat Mephisto. All went very well, no problems and no worthwhile drops. :sad2: Went into Durance 3 and leveled at this first room, allowing the summoning of a grizzly. What a nice tank he is. Mephisto really proved no problem at all, though it took awhile. He dropped some crappy rares and the unique boots Gorefoot. Meh. Since things were going okay, Only strikes continued into Act 4, looking for Izual. Who has more hit points, him or Baal? Sheesh, but that took a long time. Amplisa and I kept him chilled and knocked into a wall while the grizzly took swipes at him. OnlyStrikes kept going, completed the Hell Forge (Ort) and stopped for the night at the River of Flamed waypoint. Next up is Diablo and his Oblivion Knights. This ought to be interesting.

Lebowski has made it though A1 NM and killed Andy. Most of A1 was takean at P5 but Andy was confronted on P1. Given her -50% resustance to Fire Damage and that she was on P1 she took a long time to come down. I have Lvl 20 MB, Lvl 16 FS and LVL 4 Volcano! Unfortunately I've still not found a single useful +skills item!

Completing Nightmare and killing the P8 Cow King is starting to look a bit harder than I thought it might be when I created the tournament!

I agree things are getting more 'amusing' with nightmare. But my guess is that p1 lister will be much much more difficult to defeat than p8 cow king. NM minion of destructions have %95 fire resist!!! And those beasts are not knocked back too :hang:

I had not thought of that! Of course, one can always park Lister and the other Minions - for this tourny, the goal is "Kill the NM Moo Moo KIng on P8" amd everyone else is optional. Minions have zero physical damage resists, so another strategy would be to have fully pumoped Volcano for its physical damage and make sure sure your Merc has a big hurty weapon. Pumping Grizzly may help as well.

For the Pally's, the Minions could be a problem. Switching auras away from HF may be best but the low base damage of the Awl will be a problem. Again, having the best possible Merc weapon will be important.

Of course, two of the NM Ancients are 70% resistant to both Fire and Physical! Oh well....

Wow Ancients are hard...took forever and 10 billion mana pots. Yea, I ran the mess out of shank, eld, and pindle on /players8 and got myself to 70. All I got left now is baal...after him I might just hop right on to stoney and the rest...well you guys know.

Entered the Moo Moo Farm and I laughed so hard when I see that the king area is right at portal.

Of course though, I found the world's biggest mob of cows...ever and not to mention there were 3 super unique bosses there...right around the king area...also I showed that I still had /players8 on.

What was your skill point distribution? Any special gear?

And what now? Are you taking him into Hell? or tackling other projects? or trying an Awler or a Drummer? Or are you going to Disney World?
 
DISNEY WORLD HERE I COME!!!

Woooohooo, I gotta give it to you quickdeath, this tourney was awesome, I had a ton of fun.

My Gear and final stats and such:

That's my overall stats. With oak sage, I get about 1.1 k life and I've got about 300 mana. Lvl 27 MB rocks too. Oh, and don't worry about that 4 in nado, that's just because my helm also gives one to nado, and my plus skills add to it, but I never use it.

For gear, I use a leaf staff in a long staff, "Lore" antlers with a +1 MB, a pair of magefists, a very sexy +1 druid skills with life and mf ammy, a pair of mf/frw boots, sig belt, a rare mana/energy ring and a nagel ring, and on the switch I have a one druid skills mace and sig shield. I usually pop on the switch for my summons and cyclone armor.

For the future? I'm not too sure. One thing I discussed with iron was maybe having all of us who finish play a mp game in hell hehe. I gave the den in hell a try...wow is that hard, i think it took 10 minutes...very slow with boulder damage. But other than that I'm not too sure. To be honest, after I finished my bowler...I felt really bored all of the sudden. It seemed that after I had completed my goal, nothing seemed fun anymore lol. I got on a few other chars, but they all seemed boring. I might give an awler or drummer barb a try though...

I'm also thinking of starting a tourney of my own after this mwahahahaha!

P.S Is there a prize? I don't wish to sound greedy, it's just I never did tournaments before this, and so I've never won one before :( lol
 
Grr. I just lost €10 in a bet with myself that an Awler would win this tourney...
Nevertheless, I congratulate you with your accomplishment and patience required to obtain it.

Finally got the Awl and suddenly started killing everything in one blow on p8, thats kinda nice, wish it would last
 
Mephisto was easy, he got my merc but thats okay.

Still using my death's guard, 2 slot belt is annoying but I really like the cannot be frozen part, wondering if I should ditch it for more slots (and higher ac)

No problem with Lister and the gang. Your spirit is immune to physical in NM, so if you can get the majority to go for it, you can pick them off at your leisure (not even a dent in the spirits life):grin:

Btw - how would you park lister??
Baal doesn't go through the portal until his throne room is cleared (or do I have this wrong?)
