Olga is not the brightest bulb on the tree. This has been her problem since she was just a wee child. They tried to teach her spell casting, but it was to no avail. She couldn't remember the hand movements nor the mind focus techniques in the heat of the moment. Oh, she could cast a spell if she could set off by herself and concentrate on the spell with no interruptions, but that was useless when it came to battle spells. Nonetheless, she persisted. After much practice (and a few notes scribbled on the back of her hand) she was able to make progress on one spell, Enchant. That and a few armor spells is about all she had even come close to casting.
When she came into the rogue camp, she could hear them whispering. If they did not think she was looking, they would chuckle and point to her. They knew. But she didn't care, she would still venture into the wilds and bring honor to herself and her family. Afterall, there were barbarians who did very well with much less in the way of spells than her enchant spell.
Her first venture was very successful. She impressed the rogues by clearing out an evil den filled with creatures intent on her death. Then, a snippy rogue challenged her to kill some renegade by the name of Blood Raven. The rogues didn't appear to have anyone else to ask. Blood Raven was as tough as nails, but after a while Olga wore her down. Blood Raven's death was enough to impress the rogues and provide her a companion. The two of them continued on in their adventure.
By the time she reached the monastery, she was finally able to master the enchant spell. With that ability and her friend "Kale", she was able to defeat the demon Andariel and move East to the port city of Lut Gholein.
Upon arriving at Lut Gholein, she met a fine woman by the name of Atma. Atma was in mourning due to the death of her family at the hands of some demon by the name of Radamant. Another task! Radamant was no match for Olga and her new friend, Gulzar. Vengeance was sweet indeed according to Atma.
Now Olga is heading out into the dessert to find body parts for some staff that Cain is talking about. THis adventuring stuff is great fun, even without powerful spells!
Olga is currently at level 21. THis puts her in 11th place among the living. Of course, she remembers that many more have died who progressed much further than Lut Gholein.
